:proud:

What?
SuperLiga football at it's best

Why?
just for fun :D

Who?

GK: Quim
RB: Nelson
DC: Luisão
DC: Anderson
LB: Leo
DM: Petit
ZM: Manelele
RM: Karagounis
LM: Simão
FC: Miccoli
SC: Nuno Gomes

Well Koeman might take other choices though. :googly:
Benfica have presented themselves in an outstanding shape those last weeks and I believe them to extend their current run in SuperLiga even though Guimarães those last weeks have started to make up their bad start as well and especially impressed in UEFA-Cup.

yeah, i would pick that exact same line-up

and i think so will koeman, except maybe for the goalie....i think its about time quim gets back on goal, specially after moreira's latest two performances..lets see what happens...

either way, should be a great game!

both teams are on a high currently, and both need desperatly to grab points!

GO BENFICA!!!!!! :star: :star: :star:

ps: and porto is next isnt it?!? we starting with all the tough games, almost all away too! better this way actually :D

Yap Porto is next. It can only be to our favour, having to play them all so early indeed.
Especially now that Sokota is injured for 4 months, it would be a pitty if they travelled to Lisbon without him, as he should be recieved back in all honours ...

Damn, we're that good to play with only 10 :D ;). Anyway, should be an interesting match considering both teams are on highs, despite our loss.

great football game , very exciting

but VERY very difficult! guimaraes is really playing well, and this victory was sweaty sweaty:D

koeman was well this time:)

geovanni is really upseting me, he doesnt deserve to start! i cant believe this guy can play so lazy game after game, in spite of all the chances the coach has been giving him ....

moreira was very shaky once more...he had a stunning defense in the 1st half (what a fabulastic goal that would have been for guimaraes  ), but other than that, he showed a lot of unsecuirty, specially on high balls....

karagounis came in in the 2nd half and in good time, it sure helped us control the midfield, something we lacked in the 1st half...i would like to see him start in the game against porto;)

miccoli finally scores in the league...and did u guys see him in the after match press conference? i like that guy:) very humble, lots of team spirit, big up fabrizio, keep it up:)

i wouldnt like to miss out on petit...he did a great game BUT he should have been expelled when he hit targino ...what a stupid stupid foul! petit really has to watch out, coz the game was 1-1 and it could have cost us a lot!!!

of coz a few mins later, a guimaraes player did something even worse, and he didnt see any card either :rollani:

all in all, it was a tough game, but we were up to the challenge, the 1st half was very balanced, but we were clearly superior in the 2nd half, and had we not missed open goal opportunities (mantorras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the victory might have been more substancial:)

we are getting stronger....let's keep it up boys:D

true, his goal was precious, BUT simao didnt do a good game tonight imo.....he didnt help the team defend and it was one of the reasons guimaraes put us to so much trouble during the 1st half

Well, but in the end he always decides the games. :star: ;)
Just saw the goals ... this header of Nuno was marvelous :D well and Simão's goal was not what I would call unlucky :howler: However it's the 3pointer and the winning mentality that counts and not what kind of goals we score.
Força Benfica ... Poto's next

the captain is the captain, and i love simao;) but today his 1st half was very poor, he got much better on 2nd half, and finally decided to help the team, but i aint gonna deny that he was a bit "asleep" today.....he has to wake up earlier, we suffered too much today:D

nuno's header was too much:DLOL
of coz he was trying to score, but somehow totally missed it and ended up making a perfect pass to miccoli :howler: who btw, is a killer:D

I wouldn't mind him moving to a big club as Liverpool is one. We have to get used to this idea, Simão is a world-class player who can be an enrichment to any team in the world. I however wish for such a move to not go through before next summer. It would vanish our season would he move during the winter break. He's not only a key player, Simão is Mr. Benfica 5th year running ... when things get complicated, Simão gets us out of this. If it was for me I'd want him running our wing for the next 5 years as well, but if he seeks a move to a better league I hope he will do so next summer.

He played on the right wing in Barcelona and had some good games there. At Benfica he only played on the left so far and had the best time of his career. But if I recall it correctly he once scored 10 goals for Sporting in one season from the right wing. I think he has the same value to his team on either wing. He has a strong left and a strong right foot as a garanty for him being capable of crosses and shots the same from either side. Though I think from the right he rather tended to cross and from the left he rather tends to shoot.
Hope we can convince this Rick Parry-lad to wait for him for another 6 months at least however. :D
