After that loss to Italy i think the Germans will be going for the kill i see them winning something like 3-0 they just have to win this game.

The Germans have won WC taking dives in the penalty area (see 1974) and the above was "no hand ball, according to the blind Englishman". They will do what they must to win. I hope we learned OUR lesson from 2002. This will be an "all MLS squad", and they have yet to loose, so it will be an interesting match.

The Germans will be ready. Klinsmann played down the 4-1whipping at the hand of Italy, because the back line was "young". The problem is the rest of the team were seasoned veterans. They were whipped, no excuses. (the game will be on Gol TV tonight, 3/6 @ 5:00pm EST, for those who have that channel). Italy looked very good.

p.s.: Italy scares me, they've won everything so far in the run up, including one over my pick to win the cup, Holland (1-3), in Holland.

...if the World Cup were still a long way away, I would have actually agreed with you and hoped that the US would have a major victory over Germany, so as to get Klinsmann into [even more] trouble and maybe the sack.

But I don't think any problems in the way of more losses and/or a change in managers is going to help Germany any, and I will therefore disagree with "Go USA!"

 

Seeing that we are going with our all MLS B squad it should be an interesting game. Im sure the Germans will be feildin a somular squad wich may be a good thing for them.

Yea, most likely of German decent. All of the players were born in America.

Should be a good game. Despite many (perhaps valid) claims of Klinsmann's ineptness, we must remember Germany have some of their top players while we will be without many of ours, such as Donovan, Dempsey, Reyna, Onyewu, Beasley, and Lewis. The Germans are missing Deisler, Frings, and Huth, and Klinsmann didn't call up Worns, but they still have Ballack, Kahn, and Klose among others.

Probable teams:

USA: Keller; Cherundolo, Pope, Gibbs, Pearce; Olsen, Mastroeni, Klein, Convey; Twellman, Johnson

Germany: Kahn; Owomoyela, Mertesacker, Metzelder, Lahm; Schneider, Kehl, Ballack, Borowski; Asamoah, Klose

Optimistically I'd predict a 1-1 draw, but I see a 2-1 win for Germany. It will be tough for the US to get a good result. The Germans want this, we can afford to lose, they cannot, and even Klinsmann knows this.

 

Lets also add the fact that this match is sold out and the pressure is all on them to perform.

Probably the best raw talent is Johnson, who has been trying to recover his form from a long list of injuries last season, but he jas great speed, Twellman, has had a great start to the US squad this year, and should be hard to handle.
