We seem to play well at Man City but we always fail to get the result at Man City.

Our last 3 records might be 3-0 loss, 2-2 draw, 2-1 loss, but all these matches we dominated but a combination of a bit of lacking of finishing ability and making critical mistakes often cost us there. Also add Hart have had some great games against us.

It's gonna be tough game, but it should be a good time to play them as both teams aren't settled this early period of season.

So I was right, another decent away performance but our 1st half dominance didn't have any end result (not clinical finishing) while on the other end, we made mistakes (defenders sleeping).

I thought Moreno didn't have a good game. He could have had a red card in 1st half. When Zabaletta was running into our penalty area, and Moreno tried to stop him from behind. Luckily for him, Moreno missed the tackle, and also Gerrard was there to clear the ball from Zabaletta. If Moreno had caught Zabeletta, he was a sure goner.

Gerrard had a good game, made a lot of good long passes, anticipated and made several clearances. Lazar also looked sharp, Coutinho/ Sterling both also had some neat touches.

If we played like we did the middle part of the game v Southampton, we won't stand a chance. City won't let our complacency go unpunished as much as Southampton did.

Well about this game, to be honest, I'm a little worried. We CANNOT play a 4231 or we're going to get overrun in the midfield. Gerrard cannot simply play in a 2 man midfield. In a 3 man midfield? He's perfect. City will have Toure, Fernando and Fernandinho lining up. 3 really robust players that can run havoc on our midfield if given the chance.

As much as it sucks, I think I'd shift Cou out wide from his attacking position (assuming we play a 433), and put Allen in his spot. Allen-Hendo-Gerrard should be able to retain and recycle possession while also help out going forward. Cou is not as effective from a wide position, but I think it's something that needs to happen for us.

Second part that makes me nervous. Out wide. We've got a bit of a decision to make. Do we go with the same with last week? (GJ and Manquillo), do we go with experience? (Enrique and GJ) Or do we introduce our new signings? (Moreno and Manquillo). City are robust in the wide areas when needed, and considering Southamptons goal came from a play initially starting there, and GJ's struggles, we need to make the right choice in that regard (Above scenarios assume Flanno is still catching up fitness wise).

A draw wouldn't be a half bad decision all things considered.

i would not leave either sterling or coutinho out.

they are playing well and it would be to respect man city too much.

play with lucas and gerrard in a line... hendo just in front of them

451 formation.... sterling and coutinho on the sides.... sturridge lone striker of course

Manquillo is also unproven, much more than Moreno, as he played only a couple of senior games. So it's a difficult one to get your logic here.

It's picking either an "unproven player" in Moreno or someone that plays like he doesn't give a shyte in Johnson.

Anyho, Barrett is predicting a line-up with Moreno and Johnson.

Moreno played against Navas in training all the time, so it shouldn't be a biggie.
