That's it: the last game of the league and we still can win it. For that to happen we need to win this match and we also need that our direct rivals drop points at home against a poor Nacional. Difficult but definitely not impossible.

We are facing a team that showed a very different type of attitude in the games played against us and those played against our rivals but, truth to be said, they were not the only ones. We needed an epic turnaround to beat them for the league in Alvalade, in one of the most memorable games of this incredible season, and I don't expect them to show less intent today. Their match of the season will be next weekend against Porto in the Cup final but I am sure they will do all they can to stand in our way.

Like it happened in every single one of the last 8 matches we've played in this last stretch of the season, I believe we will do what is needed to win the title: to win. We did it scoring 26 goals and conceding only 6 while playing some really good football. More of the same is what we ask and then we will see if that is enough to celebrate.

The starting XI will be posted here later one.

Big blow for us. Coates gets a muscle injury and needs to be subbed off only after 15'. Paulo Oliveira will come in for his place.

Great attacking move by Sporting with João Mário launching Bryan Ruiz on the left and his perfect cross finds Teo in the box who finishes with class. 1-0 at 20'.

William is fouled right outside the box, the ref initially calls a penalty but afterwards changes his mind and calls a free kick. Braga's defender was sent off.

Superb first half by Sporting not giving any chance to Braga. From the start of the game we showed what we wanted from this game and we got it. No signs of Adrien's absence in our game because Gelson and João Mário's mobility completely shifted the midfield, and the game, in our favour. Once again we're showing who's the best team in this country inside the pitch. Unfortunately outside the pitch we saw some confrontations betweens fans of the two clubs because apparently Braga's supporters were celebrating a goal scored by...Benfica - a real symbol of what this season has been.

Great game by Sporting completely dominating the 4th best team of this league in a really tough place to play.

João Mário, Gelson Martins, Bryan Ruiz and Slimani were the best today.

Incredible support from our fans never stopping to cheer for the team until the last minute, like it happened everywhere we played in this league.

As for this season, we failed to win the title but inside the pitch we proved to be the best team. It was an incredible record breaking season with Sporting registering a series of historic performances which are a proof of the quality of the work developed by this squad, this coach and this board. We did make mistakes because we are not perfect but it wasn't for lack of quality that we didn't finish on top. When we manage to change those aspects in Portuguese football that still have enough influence in the decision of who wins trophies in Portugal, we will be able to translate in trophies what we do inside the pitch.

Another moral trophy for that crowded 3rd floor at the Lagartichada museum. The 15th in a row! Soon they'll need a 4th floor.

Don't take it so hard, you guys were the best team in the pitch. The invisible title is being polished as we speak.

If all else fails, you can try your hand at fortune-telling and take over as the village Nostradufus since it doesn't seem Josh is coming back...

I watched the game at a bar, stopped along the way to catch it

I cheered for SCP goals, could hear a pin drop. Portistas and Benfiquistas consoling each other. Told them Sporting would be campeao and that ticked them off.

the luck will run out soon, In Madeira.

The fact that this wanker is posting in a Sporting forum instead of celebrating his club's title says a lot about himself and his lot. The party is over though.
