The first serious test amongst a set of hard fixtures coming the next few weeks.

It's time to react and show some autority AND intensity in our game since we've lacking this important element and we've been winning rather unconvincingly in the last games.

Sevilla Don't need to be described. They are one the top teams in the world and one have only to look some weeks back to see what they're capable of.
On their day they can trounce any time no matter how strong they're so we have to be very careful in this game and it's going to be crucial to score an early 1rst goal to open the match.

Probable line-up:

-------------Valdes---------
-Zambrotta-Puyol-Thuram-Sylvinho--
---------------Motta------------
---------Deco---------Iniesta-------
---Messi----------------------Ronaldinho--
----------------Guddy------------

Time and Venue:

LFP | J6 | Sunday, 15 Oct. 19:00 (CET) Camp Nou

The most important thing to say is: FUUCK YOU DEL NIDO!!!!!

A very tough match. The team should concentrate fully on this one, then they can think about Chelsea. This match has revenge written all over it. The players should step up their game, especially Ronaldinho.

I don't feel good about it. It should be a good match though, technically and tacticaly. But only the Camp Nou can see it

Visca Barca :strong:

I think Marquez should start at CB, since he isn't playing internationals and will be more rested. Besides, I'd rather have a fresh Thuram play in the CL against Chelski.

I hope Motta doesn't start. Edmilson had some slight injury concerns but he won't be playing in any international games either so he should be ready.

The rest of the lineup looks good, except perhaps start Xavi and then bring on Iniesta in the 2nd half.

We definetely need to come out with more intensity than we've been showing in the past few games. The team seems to wake up only after they've conceded a goal, and that needs to stop. It's a home game so that's a boost for us. I think we'll get our revenge for the Supercup and win 2-1 (or something close to that).

I don't know about you all, but Xavi has been playing better these 2 last games IMO. Against Bilbao we saw glimts of his old self and I think he was pretty good against Sweden last night with some really nice passes. I hope he continues on this road.

a very hard game..
and the problem is that our players will be exhausted from the internationals while sevilla have no problems..

just daniel alves, adriano and kanoute are out with their international teams

anyway we must start the game slowly as if we r playing against chelsea or real, for 2 reasons the first for not exhausting the players more and more, and the second is to keep the game balanced until the second half when we can handle the match easily

I disagree here mate. I think we should go for the kill from the very first minute, but with caution ofcourse. Last time we moved the ball around we got caught. We should attack full blast, hopefully score an early goal, and try for the second to kill the game.

Sevilla will definately play the counter game, and the defense should be on their toes. But that don't mean we should take the game slowly

We need to cut out this starting slowly bollocks and start the game flying. An early goal would be magnificent, we should ideally push to be scoring 2 or 3 before half time. The earlier you score against teams like this, the easier the rest of the match becomes because it's all in your hands. It was hella difficult last time and they are better now.

How come this game won't be broadcasted when Sevilla have signed a three-year TV broadcast deal with Santa Monica Sport ?
Would be really annoying not to be able to watch this game.
Santa Monica have the rights, but they don't own any TV channel. Santa Monica bought them to sell them afterwards, since they don't have any TV channel to show the game.

If Santa Monica sell the rights, we'll see it. If not, radio... like in the old times. Don't worry, we survived without cell phones and digital TV some years ago. :D

More specifically, since we are the home team why the **** does it matter what Sevilla want or don't want? WE have a TV deal and WE are playing, therefore what legal powere do Sevilla have to stop that?

Do you know if there are ongoing negotiations between santa Monica and Audiovisual to solve the situation?
I really hope they'll reach an agreement before the end of the week.
I guess, but I have no idea. Santa Monica could sell the rigthts to anyone though. They could even sell them for foreign countries and not inside Spain, they can do whatever they want. But they bought them to sell them, who's gonna buy them? Who knows? If I were Digital Plus, I'd not overpay for them, it's pure logic. It's not that Sevilla is Barcelona or Madrid, so Santa Monica will put a price, if it's over the roof, noone will pay for them, so they'll decrease the prices or they'll swallow the rights... pure market system, as Adam Smith described it.

VBI, you need the permision of Sevilla to show their image. They have the rights on their own image, so you can't show their team playing football, if you don't have the permission.

If that's the case, how does ANY club get individual TV deals? You would need to go around asking permission from every club in your league, several clubs in lower leagues, and many clubs across Europe just so you can appear on your own TV deal. Not to mention Barca TV. They showed highlights of the Madrid derby on sunday! This whole idea seems contradictory to the idea of seperate TV deals. If you can't get a deal without the other club's giving permission to appear, how did anyone get a TV deal in the first place?

Unless the TV guys blur the other team in every game, in which case we can do what we want. :D

I don't know how they fix these things you say. In Spain, Audiovisual Sport own the rights of everyone in Spain, but Sevilla, so they can show the games and the images of everyone. Barça TV was a deal between Digital+ (who own part of Audiovisual Sport) and Barça.

I know what you mean, but it's obvious that you need the permission of Sevilla, because I've just checked the LFP web site and the game isn't going to be broadcasted in Spain.

If I were Rijkaard, I would put Zambrotta at LB for this game and play Oleguer at RB.

Navas will put Gio in hospital. :D

Can't wait for this match, should be an intense battle and if Barca do not improve on their recent performances then a first league defeat of the season is definitely on the cards, Sevilla and Valencia are playing the best football in Spain right now.
