Venue: Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium
Day: March 13, 2011
Time: 2100 CET

Tough game in a hostile environment after our game against Arsenal. Recent results against them in the league have all been for us (6W, 1D in the last 7 league games between us). Let's try to continue this and get another important win in one of the hardest fixtures left for us this season.

Puyol continues to recover from his injury and I am not sure about who will be missing from Sevilla.

Squad:
Valdes, Pinto, Alves, Adriano, Pique, Milito, Abidal, Maxwell, Busquets, Mascherano, Xavi, Keita, Iniesta, Afellay, Pedro, Messi, Villa, Bojan, Jeffren.

Mega difficult match. Our next 2 away games after this are Villareal and Madrid. Of course, we are in a difficult run of games, but Madrid's is close to starting since they have Athletic away before the Clasico then Valencia away after it. We'll hopefully have had a bit of rest this week. Theoterically, we need to do anything we can to make sure by the time the Bernabeu game is finished, we are still top.

Sevilla are having a fairly average season by their standards but they should never be taken lightly and obviously less so on their boiling cauldron of a home turf. Remember the Super Cup final? We needed a genius Messiah to turn the score in the 2nd leg at home (and how he did it). Think the XI picks itself as the only question is between Maxwell/Adriano and with Busquets back in midfield where he is more fluid than Masch who is also still adapting to La Liga:

Valdes

Alves - Pique - Abidal - Max/Adri
Xavi - Busquets - Iniesta
Pedro - Messi - Villa

As they say; Vamo mi Barcelonismo! :fero:

As much as Masch helps us recover fast Counters by the other team, he is also not as secure as Busi in the one-touch passing in midfield and more likely to lose possession in a difficult/dangerous area. Needs to adapt better to this type of one-two touch passing tempo and shielding of the ball/secure dribbling.

I checked our schedule in April, and I'm terrified. It's all congested there, every wednesday we play a super meaningful game (cup final, CL games) and on weekends we are trying win the league (visits to Bernabeu and Villareal). After checking it out, I have this to add:

People, fasten your seatbelts, there is some dangerous travel ahead of us, so:

a) we are doing it without K4. We never made it without him, special effort is now needed to survive and come out victorious.

b) It's imperative that we win the remaining two games in March (Sevilla away, Getafe at home), we need to have some substantial lead in April to rest some players and concentrate on CL games. Add to this that we may well play without Messi against Villarreal, this game is immediately after a bigger NT break and Messi will be in Americas with Argentinian NT.

A win tomorrow is needed.

Agreed, hopefully we get K4 back soon as well as a relatively decent draw in the CL. Arsenal was one of the worst draws one could get in the earlier round so hope the law of averages is applied here. :hopeful: The hope will be to rest/rotate players at home vs Getafe, Almeria and Osasuna. Injury situation looks favourable tho as long as they all keep fit and Puyol should be back and match fit before April kicks off. Touch on wood.

**** this incompetent piece of shit. He rules out a brilliant Messi free kick goal out of nowhere.

Just saw the replay. That litttle scumbag Capel even attempts to elbow Busquets and Perez Lasa whistles against Sergio:confused:

All the while none of this affects the fk itself. La Liga:yuck:

Shalke usually turn up right around the congested period. Heres hoping.

Of course we can look at this with the glass half full.

Madrid have to play Bilbao away, Us in La Liga, Valencia away, got the Copa final against us and then also two possible Champions League quarter finals.

If we maintain the 7 point lead up until that point then the month of April is much harder for them, having to play catch up, aswell a playing the best team in the World twice in a month.

A win here and @Villareal will put us in a very strong position to win the league.
Strongest line-up possible

Valdes
Alves Pique Abidal Adriano
Busquets
Xavi Iniesta
Pedro Messi Villa
