Alright, we've got the cockroaches coming to town in a couple of weeks at the Chamartin. They are in better form at the moment, but we're at home and should have our best players back.

Ronaldo, Baptista, Zidane, Gravesen, Helguera and Pablo Garcia are all set to return to the team.

Woodgate has a muscle injury but should be ready for El Clasico, probably starting ahead of Helguera who only has a slim chance of recovering in time.

Luxemburgo will likely play 4-3-3 to line up man-to-man against Barca. For this reason I think Baptista should play at LM, his pace and tracking back ability is needed against Giuly/Messi. Zidane is a big game player and should be given a free role behind the front two.

Robinho will likely come on for Zidane in the second half.

Will the King return?

Messi will probably be protected by Rijkaard by playing Giuly instead. His poor finishing was an important factor to the latest result against ye lot, the guy is just so frustrating. But if Robinho starts on the bench, I'll be surprised. I'll also be surprised if Luxe plays 4-3-3.

I have a feeling that this will be a very good match. Who will referee this one btw? :lala:

It doesn't matter who will referee the game, the way things have gone this season, it should be Madrid worried about that factor, not Barca. ;)

Baptista? If he's fit he has to play.

I really do hope one of the "big" ones is fit for this match(Ronaldo, Baptista)... we are struggling because we don't have any presence in the box... some one who is hard to hack down... add to that a depleted midfield and you know you are going to have problems... we will struggle with the lineup we were fielding for the last couple of matches... with a full squad a win seems likely... without Ronaldo/Baptista/Garcia/Gravesen I see us getting owned...

Yeah, without those four players I think we will lose the match. Well Garcia will play because he isn't injured, just missed Zaragoza through suspension. But it's very important that at least one of Ronaldo or Baptista is fit to play.

El Feno, please remove the trash post that occured before you game preview.

i like Mejia a lot actually. And having him together with Ramos in the back and Garcia in CD doesnt sound that bad.

It will be nice to see him in derbi - he is insolent (since his first game I remember how he argued with more older player...) perfect for Barca :boxing:

I really doubt we end Derbi success. Even if Ronaldo/Baptista play will they be 100% fit? After about/more than a month without play - I guess NO... And Barca is very self-confident... It is a bad time to play Classico for us. Fortunately in Classico not only names and form are key.

The team that simply wants to win more will win.

That's how Clasicos are decided... by heart.

#24 ·
agree, throw out standing and everything else...

Barca durning the Gaspart years those teams made us really suffer and they were not as good as the current squad.

Baptista should play up front wiz R9 if he is fit, i prefer to have Raul in midfield cause he can hold the ball alot better than Baptista and in a match like this you cant have a player who cant hold against Barca's midfield, and since we already have beckham who cant hold a ball for 2 secs we better not play baptista in midfield

You guys really think Robinho is gonna sit this one? I would rather have him off the bench with his energy but unless everyone's back and at 100% i'm not sure this will happen.

El Fen I really don't see what Baptista has done so far to get such praise, especially having him in midfield where he is more a liability, he's very limited in his creativity even as a DMC IMO. Even if he is fit I would have him on the bench in case anything happens to Ronaldo. And playing Ronaldo, Beast and Raul all at once is a big no-no. Raul needs more space up front to work his magic, he's proven he plays so much better when he is one of the main guys and not hidden in the shadows of his teammates. I have a feeling El Capitan is gonna take it home for us in the classico.

Heike, count me in on Mejia being better than Pavon. I just wish the staff would see this:doh: I've always really liked Mejia and I don't see us ever being at a disadvantage playing his no matter who we play against.
