Hello

My name Is Noula. I recently started to support Fc Barcelona because i think that out of all football teams they are the only ones who still play the beautiful game.

i enjoy attacking football and i have always loved Barcelona's creative passing game. Although i'm a new fan i think i will always support Barca weather they win or lose because beautiful football is what matters most.

hopefully we'll win La liga and the champion's league next year after this disappointing season and i hope to enjoy the company of Barca fans who share my football philosophies :)

Visca Barca
Welcome and Visca el Barça!

Wait, Rage Against The Machine using a concert to make a left wing statement over a current political situation? Surely not, that's not like them at all. :D
:D

In any case, you can expect them to make long speeches about politics and all that. It's true that they appear in these Guantanamo dresses and they play the International right after that, but they don't spend the concert telling you things about Bush and all that. The songs are political, but I've been in many concerts where you have to listen to long political speeches (it's funny, because noone in Spain understand English and they always finish singing "oe oe oee"). RATM are a political band, but they don't get too boring with it.

In any case, I agree with them in many things, so I don't complain. :D

OMG, I just hope the true PepGuardiola will have more luck than you or we are seriously screwed.

And I wouldn't take signed paper from those three bozos even if it would be a cheque. No sir, not me.

Anyway.. :err:
RATM were kings. They were awesome from start to finish.
Pretty much everyone I spoke to feels the same way. There were even some fans who didn't like RATM very much that said it was one of the greatest concerts they've ever been to. Media's calling it the concert of the year.

Before that, we were just hanging out after being a bit late (just missing Anti-Flag who were very good I heard) and waiting for the big guns to start firing. At 18.00 we watched Babyshambles on the main stage from afar, to everybody's surprise Pete Doherty showed up on stage and on time no less but with several cigs in his hat which gradually decreased. Didn't really have any expectations on this one and we werent wrong. The whole show felt half-arsed and apart from 2-3 ok-good songs this was.. well not very good.

After that I went to see another friend who along with his gf wanted to watch the Blink 182 copy that is Simple Plan. Not really a big fan of this band but they were ok. Good atmosphere and they got the crowd (very young btw) going.. Even though I spent most of the time chit-chatting I could tell that it was a decent live band.

Later we went back to the main stage to watch Serj Tankian at 21.00. He appeared on stage with his white Uncle-Sam like garb and we were positioned in the front, where the moshing wasn't so bad. His performance was good (he even played the drums for a bit :pp) with his usual charisma, sipping wine between the songs. His supporting crew seemed boring though, wearing generic black suits and the whole scene show seemed to be lacking. I think he would have had a better ambiance playing during the night. Halfway through he had a short speech about Bush's dictatorship drawing to a close :D Some songs were too slow and some with the typically dynamic SOAD style and you could tell that only one solorecord isn't quite enough yet and also that some people were waiting for them to play a SOAD classic but it didn't happen. But he did finish with the Holiday In Cambodia-cover which was superb.

Lastly, we went to see the big Show. A couple of minutes after midnight, they showed up on stage with the big glowing red star in the background. They opened with a bang, Testify got everyone going from the start and even though we weren't at the front the moshing was pretty intense. They followed up with Bulls On Parade and after that start some people were getting exhausted.. :D But not RATM, they went on with People of the Sun, Bombtrack:star:, Vietnow:star:, Know your enemy:star:, Bullet in your head, Born of a broken man, Guerrilla radio:star:, Calm like a bomb, Sleep now in the fire:star:, and finished with War within a breath:proud:.. Not quite. But they did just leave the stage, then nothing happened for a few minutes, we started screaming "fuuck you I won't do what you tell me.." and later all the ca 20 000 people joined in (their last song btw). Suddenly, the red star started glowing heavier and The International was playing. :D After it ended, they re-entered the stage and gave us Freedom and later of course Killing in the Name..! :musik:

I had to admit that halfway through I was waiting for Wake Up but thinking back I'm not sure which song they should have omitted. And it would have been nice to see the Guantanamo entrance but you can't have everything. It was spectacular. The riffs, the energy, the lyrics, the sync. Have to say Tim Commerford does look weird without all the hair and Brad Wilk looked a bit like a young Zack de la Rocha though a bit more mouscled. Tom Morello's guitar play was psychedelic.. What can't that man do with a guitar?

Amazing.

Killing in the Name is badass. :D

Speaking of badass, I've just got a confirmed ticket to Metalway festival in Zaragoza. They have a Rock day and a Metal day, the Metal day is the one I'm going to. Iron Maiden is the lead act, but I'm going for the guys before them, the most badass mother****ers who ever lived.

:proud:

Whilst I've been to live music shows, never an actual festival. Any advice? Particularly like "what the hell am I going to do in Zaragoza?" :D

Well to start with, EXPO 2008 will be in full swing and also the centre is very nice especially around Plaza Pilar. The main square is ginormous and the old quarter is a real laberynth of old streets with some excellent bars playing all kinds of cool music and serving up excellent food. The lamb is just unbeatable there.
I go there a lot because I've got relatives there but it's great anyway despite the Maños :pp

Cool. I think the place the festival is taking place is "Feria de Muestras", does this ring a bell at all? Any ideas where this is relative to the city centre and the airport? Sorry for too many questions. :D

Well, if you think that standing up for the rights of the POW and supporting the American constitution is a left wing statement then that reflects on the irony of the neoliberals.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the festival you metalhead. :pp
One day shows are a bit special, (several day-)festivals are more towards camping and the warm-up days before the actual shows start. So either start looking up hotels or look up some spanish pickup phrases.. :D
Or bring lots of white t-shirts. Lots and lots. :D

I am probably going to it (the problem is flights are quite expensive in the summer) and I will get tickets for the gol seats but I sat in the lateral 3 seats high up in the sky when I went in may and they were alright a bit too far from the pitch.

Neoliberals? You sound like one of those nutjobs on Fox News. :D:D

So far my vast grasp of Spanish is to say Hola and Muy Bueno. :D And also No Es Bueno! Thanks to Bumblebee Man for these. :D

Sorry didn't see this. There is a monlingual website at http://www.metalwayfestival.com/ . Is it so difficult to do it in a couple of languages? It seems that you can get a special bus from Pabellon Principe Felipe (south east central Zaragoza, the big indoor sports hall) to the festival. But you are arriving at the airport in the north west and the festival is in the south west. So if you are not planning any central Zaragoza tourism, I would just do the most unmetal thing ever and climb into a taxi :pp

AJ = Thanks man. I probably will do the weak thing and just throw money at taxis everywhere. :D

Koeman4 = Metal is my shit, man. :D The faster and angrier the better. :D It's the crazy guitar work, anything that is even remotely metal is cool beans. Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer :proud:, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Pantera, so many others. I even like to throw in a spot of old Zeppelin, to keep my sister happy. :D:howler:
