Of course it`d be great to play against such world power teams as France, Netherlands, Italy and see our guys fighting shoulder to shoulder with Zidane, Kluivert, Del Piero, Inzaghi etc, but i still wish this group:
Latvia
Sweden
Germany
Denmark

:)

It`s ok isn`t it ?
:)
we`ll see groups in 30 november and then we`ll see are there any chances for our team...but we know Verpakovskis so the chance is always :)
Don`t scare me  This group isn`t ok at all. All NT has they minuses and pluses, but i believe those 3 three (France, NL, Italy) have more pluses than minuses. These are teams, i wish Latvia not to play in the same group, cause as good we`re playing, the rest of teams are too good...

:) Don`t worry Turkey also were much more stronger than our team but we showed a great teamplay and beated them also Sweden, we won them in game 2 but in game 1 was a draw :)
sooo everythin`s under control :)

Yesterday i saw Netherland vs Scotland game. Dutch players are just good in what they do. Italy no doubt always is strong, they`re getting far almost everytime. France imo is mood NT, they can win Brasil, but lost to some less known team. So i better wish for bit-weaker group, however in tournaments like this, there aren`t weak teams.

I guess it`s not ment for us to understand this system. The same way i do not understand by which criteria FIFA national team rating table is made, there`s a big butter either
It is the avarage points in a game of qualifying. France have 3 points per game because they won every time, and Sweden only lost once, that is why they have a higher avarage points per game and are higher in pot that Italy, England...

You take the points earned in qualification, divide by games played and that equals the coefficiency rating forund at the bottom of this page http://www.euro2004.com/competitions/EURO/news/Kind=1/newsId=127713.html in the table next to team names.

I think the Latvian federation will organize friendly game before Euro 2004, any news about that ?
There is. At 20th December against Kuweit (Kuweit is 52th in FIFA rank, Latvia was 56th before game in Istanbul). Latvian head-coach Starkovs says that in game against Kuweit which will take place in Cyprus, he`ll be checking nearest reserve players, so we can predict that Latvia will not play with strongest squad. But anyway let`s wish luck!
In 19th november Kuweit already played game versus Portugal. They lost with 0:8.

Also some other european NT`s like Chezch rep. have said they would like to fight against Latvia, but these games should be just nearly before Euro2004

Latvia have begun their preparations for UEFA EURO 2004 by announcing two friendly international dates.

Friendly tournament
Aleksandrs Starkovs' side will play Kuwait in Cyprus on 20 December, and will travel to the country again in February next year to take part in a friendly tournament, the participants of which are not yet known.
