He might become the first underage MVP of a big tournament since Pele.

He has a 1 billion euro release clause. Will we see a bidding war between Al Nassr and Al Ittihad?

Rodri should have assisted Williams in the second half today though. Easy pass to send him clean through from the halfway line. But the possession obsession brain rot took hold of his decision making I suppose.

Yamal was the 93rd best player in the top 5 leagues this season based on average ratings, and he's an offensive player. If this is his peak, it would be super disappointing.

I guess what people hope for is that he'll become the new Messi/Pele.

For me Lamine Yamal wins young player of the tournament. The tournament he has announced himself to the world. The hype is real.

I can't see past Spain's midfield though, Rodri-Fabián-Olmo: they have been majestic. Wonderfully balanced - they can control, defend and be direct attacking. Rodri being the heartbeat and leader (Morata may wear the captain's armband but this team is built on Rodri's complete game). This talented midfield with the addition of a stubborn defence, + pace and technique on the wings in Nico Williams and Yamal, + a self-less #9 and you have the most balanced and dangerous team (Southgate take note!).

Musiala started the tournament very well, and Gakpo has a body of game-winning performances - the Dutch wingforward can still win the 'best player' award if he slays the English and Spanish against the odds.
