Every week from now on is a chance for us to put an end to the league. If we manage to enlarge the gap between Depor / Real Sociedad and us a little more... we can claim the league is ours.

This won´t be an easy game though! Mallorca has been the last team to beat us in our stadium in a league game (two seasons ago) and I still remember they held us 0-0 last season the day Valencia finally clinched the title. They also kicked us out of la Copa this season getting a 1-1 result at Bernabeu, so it is not like they can´t get something from our fortress.

I say we use Morientes this time. You know I like Ronaldo a lot, but this being a home game (Ronie is better to play with spaces and Mallorca will sit back a little), Ronie comming from Mexico (I think) and Morientes´ current form makes it a perfect game for the Spanish.
We know how prone to either score everything or score nothing el Moro is, and currently he is scoring everything. He completed a grat hat-trick yesterday against Ecuador in little more than 45 minutes. We have to use his scoring streak and keep Ronie fresh for the CL game.

Let´s go!

Makelele is definitely out of this one, and its probably high time we start putting players that might increase the work-rate of the team (people like Macca, Cambiasso) and at the same time I mean!

Zizou being rested probably now seems more unlikely. Though I hope they won't be too tired to face Juve in mid-week.

Expected lineup:
______Casillas
Michel_Hierro_Helguera_RC
Figo_Cambiasso_Zizou_Macca
______Guti__Ronnie

This should be difficult for one reason - Mallorca is one of the few teams that have their way with us more often that not. They are indeed the last team to beat us in the Bernabeu over 2 years ago, but not only that... every time we face them we seem to have big problems. They kicked us out of the Copa del Rey this season, and don't let the flattering scoreline from the Son Moix fool you, cause that game was hardly a deserved win, despite the scoreline:eek:

I'm not too worried about our chances, but it depends on the player selection. With Raul and Makelele out, the two workhorses, some players may have to run a lot harder than they usually do... Del Bosque will have to be wise about this (assuming he has any control;)).
Morientes is so hot, it would be nothing less than blasphemy to leave him on the bench, but we all know it's on the cards:rolleyes:
I expect Macca to get yet another runout... he works very hard, and that's his big asset for saturday:proud::cool: :strong:

Hala Madrid!:star:

Go

any player that can play - will play.
dont kid your self, delB we'll preffer a tired 1st team player over a fresh bench player on every given day.
ronaldo will start.
morientes will start... on the bench.
if makalele is off, i'll rather see cambiasso and macca then cambiasso and flavio. the last 2 just dont seems to communicate very well on the field.

i would certainly want to see figo get some rest. god knows he play bad in the last games.
go solari...

1:0 for madrid.

Vinnie could rest Figo, Makelele and Ronaldo according to AS.

Barça,
I just heard in La SER that Figo is also playing so it will be our "everyday team" once again. No rotations even this time?:groan:
-----------------------Iker
Michel-------Hierro-------Helgura------RCarlos
-----------------Makelele
--------------------------------Guti
Figo---------------Zizou------------Macca
--------------------Ronaldo

Ronie could score his goal 300 today.

1-5...... :( :( :( :( I wish i hadnt seen the game. It was absolutely embarassing and devastating for me to watch this game. I couldnt take it anymore..

We started brilliantly, we just couldnt play any better. Chances, plays, magnificent tricks, i was enjoying everything. Ronaldo scored the 1st goal in the game and i jumped in joy and we were playing like the 1st leg against ManUtd.

Suddenly everything went wrong, we lacked motivation, will to win and the beautiful football we were producing. Luckly the 1st half ended 1-0 to us but our luck was not gonna be there for long, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4....... i could not believe it, and then they add one more in stoppage time. :depress: What happened?

Key Moments:

1st goal by Mallorca: A really bad goal kick by Casillas(he passes it to Salgado who had very limited space to do anything with it) and the Mallorca players get the ball back and score. After this goal, everything went even worst!!!!!!!!

2nd goal: A Superb Etoo passes the ball to Pandiani who makes no mistake.

Ratings:

Casillas: 3 - Didnt do anything and was totally to blame for the 1st goal.

Salgado: 5.5 - played ok in defence.

Hierro: 2 - WHAT THE **** WAS HE DOING!!?!?!??!?! Deservedly booed throughought the 2nd half....

Helguera: 5 - If not for him, Hierros' faults would have be even more costly..

R.Carlos: 6 - He was from the better players tonight! Out of position many times though

Makelele: 7 - He played the best from ALL.....

Guti: 5 - Did great offensively but disastrous in midfield...

Macca: 6.5 - Again, played well and brilliantly assisted the 1st goal.

Zidane: 6.5 - Had a BRILLIANT 30 minutes but then just faded out. Tried a few things later on here and there.

Figo: 4 - What the hell is he doing!!!!! Made so many wrong decisions in the game. Had a couple of great runs which gets him a debatble 4.

Ronaldo: 6 - Well, he had 4 chances to score, scored two, one dissalowed for an offside and missed two great oppurtunities but was amongst the better players and was aplauded when he was subbed.

Subs:

Morientes: 2 - No impact, had one header saved.

Portillo: 1 - Had a great chance to score but missed completely, was booed when he came in.
