That's clear...

Vier periodes
This is clear too...

Probably first round on August 7th:

First post here, hello everyone.
I thought the fixtures weren't released until Friday - you must have some "contacts"!

I see the KNVB will still try to hound Fortuna out of the league by setting up another commission. With the two teams being relegated at the end of this season you'd have to say Fortuna and Eindhoven look favourites to drop - both of them appealing to fans for money to keep them going.
Omniworld need to make sure they don't repeat last seasons woeful performances or they'll be back in the amateur ranks sooner than expected.

Firstly cool to see a new face on here  also one from abroad following the Jupiler League  what's your favourite team ?
btw how did you find the site? google (which would be good news for xtratime)?

As for the topic, big question whether the amateur teams would want to get promoted.
For example the Rijnsburgse Boys would lose their money spinners (local derbies)

As for the favourites, guess you can't look further than Cambuur, Volendam or de Graafschap indeed. Excelsior usually area always up there too but we have to wait and see which Feyenoord loanees they will get and whether they'd be any good (Darley for example).

Hey Wally
I'm Welsh born and bred, but had a Dutch grandad (from around Nijmegen somewhere looking at the family tree).
I like the Jupiler League as it is tough to get tickets for the Eredivisie (PSV and Feyenoord apart).
Last season I went to Den Bosch vs Veendam (2-2) and we managed to walk into the ground the afternoon of the game, some workmen had left one of the gates open as they did some repairs.
Haven't really got a favourite team, it tends to be whoever I last watched, I'll find a team to follow in time.
Hoping to get over to watch a couple of games in the coming season, maybe even an Eredivisie game.
I got here by following a few links, I was looking to see the Jupiler fixtures, so googled "concept Jupiler" and ended up here.
I think Volendam for the title, but they'll need to keep 'slim' Verhoeven in goal!
It will be interesting to see which amateur teams chose to join the league, I think there are 6 or 7 who could survive comfortably but it's a big commitment and the way AGOVV and Omniworld have bounced around in mid-table doesn't bode well I suppose.

Looks good here

It's hard to say who'll go down next season, Fortuna and Eindhoven are going to face a very tough season but it's not impossible for them to stay up, far from that I think... many teams, think about Veendam, Omniworld, Haarlem, Telstar, Dordrecht, AGOVV haven't got much quality either...

About the amateurs, in the first place I don't expect a team to go up next season because noone is ready for that yet and they probably first want to experience the Topklasse I think.

btw, can the champion (or runner up if champion refuses) go up already next season? still very vague for me all this.

On the long term, teams like Quick Boys, IJsselmeervogels, Spakenburg, Rijnsburg, HHC, Excelsior'31, Harkema etc. must be able to survive in professional football, but it's the question whether they want that... can imagine they prefer to stay among the best amateur teams instead of suffering in the Jupiler League...

One of Africa's biggest talents (so they claim) on loan at MVV from Trabzonspor

Faty Papy - 19 year old Burundian, a holding midfielder

Not the most exciting of backgrounds lol but here goes:

Jan Poortvliet on Mark Wotte :D

Tonights results:
AGOVV Apeldoorn 0 - 1 RBC Roosendaal
SC Cambuur Leeuwarden 1 - 1 MVV Maastricht
FC Emmen 0 - 0 FC Den Bosch
Excelsior Rotterdam 2 - 0 BV Veendam
FC Dordrecht 1 - 0 FC Omniworld
FC Eindhoven 2 - 3 FC Volendam
Fortuna Sittard 5 - 1 Haarlem
Go Ahead Eagles 1 - 0 De Graafschap
Telstar 1 - 4 Helmond Sport
FC Oss 2 - 1 FC Zwolle

Fortuna  :star:
Great to see them back alive and kicking!

Eagles the only team with a 100% record so far, surprisingly bad start for Zwolle and Den Bosch if you ask me.

De Graafschap 4 - 0 FC Oss
FC Emmen 0 - 1 Go Ahead Eagles
FC Den Bosch 1 - 1 FC Eindhoven
FC Volendam 2 - 2 SC Cambuur Leeuwarden
FC Zwolle 3 - 5 FC Dordrecht
Haarlem 1 - 2 AGOVV Apeldoorn
Helmond Sport 3 - 1 Excelsior Rotterdam
MVV Maastricht 3 - 1 Veendam
RBC Roosendaal 0 - 3 Telstar
FC Omniworld 0 - 0 Fortuna Sittard

Surprises in my opnion, Zwolle :)eek:), and Helmond who quite easily beat Excelsior as it seems. Also Telstar did very well in Roosendaal!

Eagles maintain without any points loss which means they're still leading the table, very well done. The 'topper' between Volendam and Cambuur ended with a draw while De Graafschap made no mistake today.

Eagles are leading by three points before Helmond, Dordt and AGOVV who all are at nine.

So Haarlem get the first goal of the evening but still end up losing.
I know it is only four games in but after a decent season last time around, this time they look big contenders to finish bottom.
Even Eindhoven and Fortuna have shown the ability to dig deep and win, Omniworld, Oss and Telstar have got wins on the board.
So is the relegation from the Jupiler League confirmed this year?

Tonight at 8

Cambuur - Haarlem
Excelsior - Go Ahead Eagles
Dordt - RBC Roosendaal
FC Omniworld - FC Den Bosch
Fortuna - AGOVV
FC Zwolle - De Graafschap
MVV - FC Emmen
Telstar - FC Volendam
FC Oss - FC Eindhoven
Veendam - Helmond Sport

Most interesting matches are Zwolle - De Graafschap and MVV - Emmen. De Graafschap are one of the main favourites for promotion and it's interesting to see if Zwolle can resist them after their poor start. MVV started poor as well and there were even doubts about the coach so they badly need a win, but so do FC Emmen.
As for the rest we've got a small derby in the north between Telstar and Volendam which normally Volendam should win.

What a results this evening...

Dordt... :googly:

Seems like FC Emmen really will have to fight very, very hard to avoid relegation to the Topklasse, something must change there... soon! At least they scored another goal this evening, their second in seven matches!
MVV are still suffering heavily, their win last week didn't help, wonder how long Çapa will still be there. Volendam seem to be on the way back while De Graafschap made no mistake in front of almost 10000 fans at de Vijverberg. AGOVV are out of the fight for the first period title, Eagles just have to draw next week during the 'IJsselderby' in Zwolle, but if they loose Dordt will surely have a better goal difference... Dordt are just three points behind.
Who could've thought that before? The first period going to either Deventer or Dordrecht...

Results
AGOVV Apeldoorn 2 - 3 BV Veendam
De Graafschap 2 - 1 Telstar
FC Emmen 1 - 3 FC Omniworld
FC Den Bosch 6 - 0 MVV Maastricht (!)
FC Eindhoven 0 - 8 FC Dordrecht (!)
FC Volendam 1 - 0 Excelsior Rotterdam
Fortuna Sittard 1 - 2 Cambuur Leeuwarden
Go Ahead Eagles 3 - 1 FC Oss
Haarlem 1 - 4 Helmond Sport
RBC Roosendaal 0 - 0 FC Zwolle

Standings
1. Eagles 7-19 (+10)
2. Dordt 7-16 (+13)
3. Cambuur 7-15
4. Graafschap 7-14
5. Helmond 7-14

Doesn't this mean that each period has nine games - so everyone down to AGOVV still has a chance?

Amazing set of results - almost four goals per game:eek: (what were RBC and Zwolle thinking - get with the spirit guys!!!!)
So Emmen have lost to the only team below them (last week) and the team just above them (this week) - it's not looking good is it?
Phew - I need a lie down now!

Damn I thought it was eight, so Eagles can still do it in the IJsselderby next week but need poor results of the rest then, so still all to play for for Dordt and some more indeed.

These results are typical Jupiler League results, many goals and crazy results, and next week it can be totally other way round.

Over the past years they said these results where 'common' in the Jupuler League because there was no pressure of relegation so teams could play all the way they want without playing defensive and tactical to win a single point.
Now they prove that was totally nonsense...

Can't wait for the goals tonight

Possible bad news for those in Maastricht.

Their possible new investor has investments at Fenerbahce and that apparantly isn't allowed under KNVB rules

Voortbestaan MVV in gevaar
