Didn t see any threads about this game, so I started one...

Even though I wanted to see Usa go through this round, I don't want to see them do that by beating Italy. I would have liked to see them beat or at least draw Czechs and draw italy. But since that didn t happen, sorry yanks but Italy need the win to finish first. My support for you to go through the round would have come only if you managed to beat or draw the czechs, so blame yourselves if youl lost my wanting you to draw Italy. A draw probably won't help your cause to get through round, although it would still be mathematically possible, but very unlikely and would make it harder for Italy to finish first and could lead to elimination if we were to lose to Czechs.

Btw, if you thought czechs were tough, wait till you face Italy with Totti in line up and Zambrotta and Gattuso back:happy:

Forza azzurri!!!!

Hoping for a good result, but being realisitc, you guys will probably win 2-1 or 3-1.
Just wish you guys hadn't lost so badly against czechs, Now I'm stuck wanting Italy finish first and USA going through next round. Don't see how this can still happen now. Most realistic way would be high scoring draw against Italy, destroy Ghana and hope Italians beat czechs by shutout and Ghana miraculously manage low scoring draw or beat czechs....Like I said, don't see this happening, but you never know. Lot's of help from above needed

We have the players to beat any team. After Brazil showed they are pretty much all talk I don't see why the US out of all teams should be a problem. Let them talk, it's what they do best. Until now, Italy is the one that played best. Germany found it hard to beat Poland when Ecuador beat them easily. Weird.

If Italy manage to score an early goal against USA, it is going to change the entire outcome of the match. Since, USA believe that they have a chance to beat Italy when they step onto the pitch, but if they concede and early goal their moral is going to severly drop down because the players won't be focused on anything except the fact that they are going to think that they are going home early.

I believe that Lippi should fire from all cylinders, he needs to tell his players to start attacking from the first minute and pressure the american players as much as possible, if this is the mentality the italian players are going to have when going into the match. I am 100% sure that Italy are going to win the match by a margin of two goals at least, my prediction is going to be 3-0.

I just want the same mentality and display as that v Ghana. Where we play quick attractive football, but also defend well and in the right numbers. At times our midfield got caught out a bit by Ghana, but our defenders covered well... we need to be more careful, but in the attack I just want more of the same, but this time finishing the chances.

Is it just me who thinks that since everyone is writing off USA, they might pull couple tricks out of their sleeves and surprise everyone..

Sorry man, Im half drunk. :drunk:

I'm in a dilemma over who to support. At this point, after the USA debacle on Monday, its hard knowing that if I root on the USA, then Italy's draw gets f'ed up in the Round of 16.

I'll probably just go with the flow of the game, if its close, then USA, if not, then Italy.

Beasly is a good player but after that, I don't see anybody who can do any damage to us. And Italy should be able to win this game, I say something more like 2-0. What makes the USA even more hateful is that they act cocky and say really dumb things when they can not afford any of it. I understand teams have to act tough, no doubt, but tough does not mean Rambo-dumb tough.

if Italy manage to score in the first 20 minutes Italya will roll over the USA

The onlger the game goes on without a goal there will be a much greater chance of an upset

So much for Arena's "changes", the only one of which is Dempsey on the right wing instead of Beasley, which would be pretty much obvious to anyone who was watching the Czech game. How about Johnson in there? I wouldn't mind seeing O'Brien in there instead of Reyna as well.
