Someone unsticky the other thread and sticky this one. I know its a bit early, but we can have some discussion on the state of Serie A in comparison to the other leagues while giving our opinions on new players into the teams in Europe this year.
La Liga has certainly strengthened, and in particular Real Madrid, meaning they have 2 teams with a huge chance of winning it this season. Probably the 2 favourites. EPL still has 4 very good teams involved, 3 of which are contenders. Sadly this league has no contenders IMO. With some shock, Inter could possibly win it. Juve have potential to go far, but not win the whole thing. Milan will be in transition and Fiorentina would do well to simply qualify for the GS. In the new Europa League there is more potential, especially for Roma and Genoa to do well, but Lazio also have a quite exciting team to watch, however with Pandev seemingly leaving, they definitely need another good striker. Alot depends on how serious these teams take the newly formed Europa League. Would be nice for Roma to win the first ever cup. I have never seen Roma lift a European trophy, so there should be something for me to look forward too. I hope we go for the competition aswell as try for top 4 in Serie A.
So up until now the summer isnt very promising for Serie A teams. Its about cementing our place as the 3rd league, rather than trying to break the top two I am afraid.
