Is Copa America The Most Boring Cup Ever?

I've never watched a cup as boring as this year's copa America.

So far ALL matches have been draws.

Even Ligue 1:)1) is more exciting. Le mans players bore themselves in bland 0-0, but at least they're getting paid for that.

I am kinda losing my interest and patience. In fact, I pretty much started skipping all the games bar Argentina, Brazil and Chile games, the latter one is only to watch A. Sanchez.

I will be honest, it was long ago that I enjoyed watching Brazil, and in fact, I skipped their games except for the World Cup games, due to them being extremely boring. This Copa, I gave them a chance, I also wanted to see the hyped talents like Ganso and Neymar, but they are boring, like under Dunga.

Argentina have been gash as well, but I will keep watching to root for Messi and Mascherano.

All in all, the tournament has been awful. Defensive, low-scoring 0-0 and 1-1 games are OK if the level is high. But the games have been quite a low level. Columbia, Venezuela and Bolivia played well, but those games ended in draw because Argentina and Brazil showed a very crap level of games more so than the former teams demonstrating some inhumane football.

Remember Honduras, WTF was that man!?! And the Brazil team was actually solid on paper!
Any European team bar Spain and Germany wil strugle in Copa America, Estonia and Bosnia would be in the botton of any group.
We struggled in Romania, which is one country over. Imagine our team in Quito or La Paz! :proud:
Let me see: You think what you think is right. Therefore you think all you think like you. Then you mention a handful of games, some scoring team and assume that was "very" good and people loved it like you did. Good.
:D
It is a easy long and boring process of classification which does not cut down enough teams. And the amount of teams in Cup is the same for while, the qualit yof competition and fun of games is not the same on every tournament, so having 1,2 more or less teams is not the problem.
The old 8 team competition was the best but there were also less member states.

Is that so? That's why we could beat your country any day anytime. In Europe there's much more competition to qualify in Euros, but you guys don't even have to qualify to get in a boring Copa like this. In fact, most European teams could easily do good in a Copa like this one.

Yes, we finally reached the level of boredom of EURO...

as serious, all NT competitions are starting very slow, the NTs that are supposed to be top still seeking a better formation, much fear of loss... The middle competition gets better, but after bad starts perhaps it is time to imagine a short group stage.

At least, we must hope a quick Uruguay-Brasil-Argentina crossing and drama due those bad starts...

Actually, Euros are more entertaining than World Cups, or so it has been for a decade or so now.

Euro2000 was great, Euro2004 was not so great, but it had some great matches as well. It had a contender for match of the past 20 years, Czech Republic-Holland game that is.

Euro2008 was great, high-scoring Dutch team dismantling France and Italy, and then getting beaten comprehensively by Russians. Spain playing really entertaining football with chances galore, and outplaying Russians. It was a great tournament.

WCs are more prestigious, but for entertainment value, it was long long ago when a World Cup matched a Euro.

I agree, and I always am and will be more excited to watch any Euro than a Copa America. I mean, everyone automatically qualifies, while for Euros it's a very tough, long process in qualifying. And if/when you do qualify, it feels worth it like you accomplished something just by making it to the Euro. But Copas have some bad teams there that bring down the level of competition to make it more boring. Maybe if the Copa cut out a couple teams the quality would be better in matches making us more entertained and not bringing this entire subject of the thread up.
