Sure it looks great when the team is going through a purple patch, but it can backfire when the team is having a bad scoring patch... Actually I call it possession-catenaccio... what Barca is playing nowadays mostly... where most of the passes don't go forward but sideways (or back), with 5 shots on goal per match... "We are not giving the ball to the other team, but we can't do shit with it either..."

I like the teams to be mostly playing the short passing game, but still mix it around to be unpredictable... playing without crossing the ball !at all! can be (when the team is having a bad day) as frustrating as the Juve - Milan final from a couple of years back... or even more some of the time...

I think people who don't watch him enough don't really understand his attacking ability. I am convinced he could play any position on the field. How many times late in games when losing, the CL ties with Bayern and Arsenal come to mind, do we see him playing as a striker? Seriously, he's up there scoring goals left and right. Just so frigging skilled, it's absurd.

Agreed. He made Modric look like an absolute amateur. He controlled the midfield totally and sprayed beautiful passes and made set-ups like it was nothing.

i think he puts himself under a lot of pressure as well. He had an amazing start and everyone including himself expected him to continue like that. Its like putting the hurdle too high, its very hard to meet it up even more when you set yourself under a high pressure.
