What I would like to see:

-------------- Tatarusanu -----------------
Sapunaru - Grigore - Chiriches - Rat
----------Pintilii --- Hoban ---------------
-------------Sanmartean------------------
-------- Andone-----Stanciu-------------
----------------Alibec----------------------

But obviously both the system and the players are not likely to be the ones Iordanescu will choose.

Rami will likely start instead of Mangala.

I´ve watched the second half vs Scotland and they are really scary. Aside from the probable starting team, they have Martial and Coman who are a nightmare on the wings. They are incredibly technical and seem to combine very well (something usually rare on a NT). Plus they have strong players in midfield, who are bad for us, on our weakest spot where Piintilii and Hoban struggle a lot. They also have excellent free kick takers, in case they don´t break us on open actions.

Besides, I was thinking that we did better on the first half against Italy, Spain and Ukraine, than on the second one. Italy scored twice, Ukraine 3 times, and Spain got a penalty (not given) and had the better chances.
That´s probably because of 2 reasons:

- Our players get tired because of the physical demand of covering so many spaces and doubling the defence

- They loose the enormous concentration needed in such games, and also our players are prone to loosing their focus. When things go worng, they also loose their confidence rapidly

Also, we have problems with quick and skilled players (such as Konplyanka), as opposed to technical but slower ones like David Silva. France will be able to introduce Martial and Coman if they have not broken our defence by the second half, and our defence will be tired by then

This is why I think we need Alibec to start. We are probably gonna have more chances in the start of the game, with all the energy and motivation, than later. And then we´ll need our best striker to finish them. Also, he can create chances by himself. We need our players to have the game of their lives in order to have a chance. If we don´t score in the first half, I doubt we´ll do it on the second one

That´s not a bad idea. We´d have more creativity without risking that much, cause Stanciu can defend too. I´d use Popa instead of Andone tough, and leave him to come on the second half. Popa is a winger and perfect for counter attack

I think we´ll use:

-------------------Tatarusanu

Sapunaru---Chiriches-----Grigore-----Rat

----------------Pintilii---Hoban

Popa------------Stanciu----------Stancu

-----------------Keseru

Sadly I think keseru´s shitty goal and Andone´s goaless performance will put Keseru ahead. Also, the few minutes given to Alibec are a bad sign. Chipciu played more:wallbang::facepalm::rolleyes:

Great interview by Torje for Marca. Sadly I couldn´t find a full translation in romanian

Eurocopa 2016: Torje: "Ante Francia jugaremos como si fuera el último partido del planeta" | Marca.com

"against France we´ll play like it´s the last game on earth"

I kinda like him more now. He looks really enthusiastic about the NT, about doing well, being at such a tournament, and it shows he has big hopes for Romania, he doesn´t settle for getting past the groups.

also, he praises the romanian crowd

damn.. I hope he isn't of them that holds a grudge against us lol.. refs should be impartial but you never know.. and I know some Hungarians are cool with us as we share certain things too, just saying it's a weird choice from a political perspective. Last thing I want to be doing is complaining about the refs conspiring against us :D not that they'd have to for this game..

Torje  at least there's something he contributes.. hopefully more on the field in France, too

Of course not, we are playing the hosts. But it has nothing to do with him being Hungarian. let's wait and see how he does. First thing is they always make mistakes, it's just a "part of the game" it seems, just watch the CL final...2nd on is that the host in a big tournament always has the fans on his side and therefore to some extent the referee on their side because it's hard to give a harsh penalty in front of a huge crowd.
I remember him being a good referee. If he screws us it's not because he is against Romania (I believe that most referees on this level really don't care about such things).

That's a good point, I would hope refs at this level wouldn't be like that. But I've heard stories about some pretty messed up refs.. then again, those were mostly in amateur divisions of South America :D

About the French team:

-The middle Kante-Pogba-Matuidi isn't especially creative. Cabaye would add more in that sense; so careful with that.

-Payet is basic for the creation of chances. We must be constantly over him. Griezmann is a good player but he likes to play with spaces; his danger is not so big without spaces.

-Giroud needs good assistants. If he doesn't receive a good service he's nothing special.

-Their fullbacks can suffer with pace. The duel Evra-Popa can be important. We won't have many more weapons to damage them.

-Pogba is probably the most dangerous player, even playing in midfield. We must be alert with his runs to our box.

I agree with that. IDK about their midfield, they looked quite creative to me. Their passing is great. They have speed, dynamic and physicality, which is a terrible combo. Maybe only Pogba is gifted, but their gifteed players are on attack.

Definately Popa can create some damage there. Then, If Andone has a good day he can hurt their CD on the counter. And then Stanciu´s long range shots. If Keseru plays then we have nothing in attack, as he is slow and not a good player to counter. As you all know I think Alibec is our most dangerous attacker and the one that brings more options

Iordanescu wants to cause problems for France

The 66-year-old wants his side to battle through some tough periods in order to spring an upset against the hosts in the Euro 2016 opener

Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu believes France's attacking prowess places them among the favourites for Euro 2016, although he is keen for his team to ask questions of the hosts' defensive frailties in Friday's tournament opener.

Apparently Andone will be the starter in attack.

Deschamps:

România are mulţi jucători tehnici. Trebuie să păstrăm tempoul meciului. După cum ştiţi, au fost meciuri amicale până acum, în ultimii doi ani. Evident acum doi ani nu erau aceiaşi jucători, ce era atunci e dificil de comparat cu ce e acum. Avem o echipă competitivă. Trebuie să avem echilibru şi să avem un bloc defensiv care să fie bine pus la punct. Suntem capabili să marcăm şi să ne punem adversarul în dificultate", a încheiat francezul.
