Turkey will be playing Moldova this wednesday at the Commerzbank Arena - Frankfurt am Main. This will be considered a home game for our National Team as we are still serving our no-fan bans.

Turkey will be looking to continue their strong form in this group, as they'll want to attain their 3rd victory of the qualifying group.

This game will prove pivotal as well as Greece gained a victory against an outplayed Norway side 1-0.

Fatih Terim will likely put the same squad on the field from the Hungary game, however, some feel that there are better options for the starting striker. Turkey will be aiming to gain 3 points from this match from the Moldova side who have only attained 1 pt in 3 games.

I expect a win from this one. Let's go for 3 out of 3
We will win and probably by the same margin too knowing us, Haydi Turkiyemm!!

3 out of 3 would be a nice start but we have to start scoring! these games might be tense times against some of the better ranked teams.

Let's all just stay on topic. Thank you.

Did anyone get a yellow card tonight that would keep them out of the Moldova match?

From last match:

Match report
Tuncay inspires Turkey triumph
Saturday, 7 October 2006

Tuncay Şanlı capped a fine performance with the only goal of the game as Turkey made it two wins in two Group C games with their first-ever victory in Hungary.

Emphatic volley
A lively presence throughout, Tuncay struck four minutes before half-time to earn the points for Fatih Terim's team, controlling a Servet Çetin free-kick in the penalty area and volleying it past Gábor Király and into the roof of the net. Tuncay almost repeated the feat in the closing stages with another volley but this time could not keep it down although it mattered not as Turkey held on to win in Hungary at the sixth time of asking.

Tuncay threat
Much of the credit went to Tuncay, who gave warning of what was to come as early as the sixth minute when he cut in from the left and unleashed a rasping shot from the edge of the box that flashed over the crossbar. He came closer with a volley just after the half-hour and his sights were finally set four minutes before the interval when he thumped in the opener. Hungary offered little in return, their lacklustre performance exemplified by a first-half Szabolcs Huszti free-kick from 25 metres that never threatened Rüştü Reçber's goal.

Király let-off
Instead chances continued to fall at the other end with Sabrı Sarıoğlu blasting over the bar when Király fumbled Arda Turan's cross into his path, and then watching his lob drop the wrong side of the bar. Sándor Torghelle and Péter Kabát offered some threat as the game reached its conclusion but it was too little, too late as Hungary were left with three points from three games ahead of Wednesday's match in Malta. Turkey host Moldova on the same night.

you know, I have to say that I never knew Sabri's surname before... :D

I was quite happy with the performance today, however i wish we had another striker instead of Hakan Sukur. I am also happy that we made a good start unlike last time and as times go on we will play better and better..

Was this Sabri first game for the NT?

As for Moldova game, we will win like 3-0...

Man bs, i missed the fight and since i cant post there, i'll post my review here. The Hungary game should have ended somewhere near 3-0. Gokdeniz missed 100% goal and so did sabri imo.

Fatih Terim, Gökhan Zan ile Servet'in ilk kez yan yana oynadıklarının belirtilmesi üzerine, ''Benim gördüğüm kadarıyla ikisi muhteşem bir uyum içindeydiler. Bütün hava toplarını aldılar'' dedi.

Looks like Terim may have found his centre defence pairing.

He really needs to pick a starting 11 and a formation and stick to that, the players need to get used to playing together.

But I'm expecting this to change several times after Emre and Yildiray are back in the team.

Firsttouch, or anyone that knows about streams.

I noticed when I played that ATV link on Real Player, on the bottom of the screen it showed that it was from www.secveseyret.com.

Does it mean that this link will be faster when Turkey is actually playing a game as there will be more servers on at that time??

Thanks firsttouch :)

Btw we have been very worried about our defence for a while, but how many chances have our opponents created against us in the EC qualifiers so far? Hungary created 1 or 2. I can't remember if Malta even had one shot on goal. That is pretty good.
And Hungary didn't win a single header in our pk area yesterday.

Besides our 2 central defenders I think Aurelio has something to do with our improved defence. We haven't had a good defensive midfielder for a long time. :)

You guys really dont get it......If we play with Nihat in front , we wont be able to play the same game...nobody is going to win headers(and Hakan did that)...Hakan didnt play all alone in front, he had Tuncay and Gokdeniz also....it was more like 4-3-3....if there was Nihat, we would play short pass ONLY , but with Hakan we can play short pass AND long balls...

Anyway, Fatih Tekke was Injuried....so for Hungary match ,Hakan was best choice...

Against Moldova we MUST win. I watched Moldova-Bosnia game and i they are just amateurs.....Bosnia almost beat them with weak play also.....

I think its going to be Turkey 4-1 Moldova....

How many headers did hakan win against hungary 4 out 14???

the headers he won most of them went to the opposing team and imo if we do play nihat upfront he might have a bigger impact then hakan as nihat has a good jump as does fatih and they might of won more headers.

ps. halil is aslo tall and can play the hakan role more effectively.
