Alright boys, less than 1 month away from this one.
After the England debacle, any opinions on what Israel should do in this game?
In my opinion it will be as tough as the England game, probably even tougher.

Israel needs a foreign coach, so our Israeli coaches dont play favorites and select idiots like Badir, Katan and Benado that slow down our team and are pretty much WAYYYYYYYY past their prime.

Israel can get a result here, they arent as bad as they looked against England, they are a better team.

I agree with you, Israel plays much better than they did in England, but Kashtan, Shum and Grant were meant to be best Israeli coaches. Grant had two campaigns, Kashtan we are watching right now and Shum would be a good option, but i don´t see him leaving Beitar soon so i guess the best option would be a foreign coach which would give us maybe better preparation for the bigger games.

Bring in a scandinavian coach, their teams always beat Israeli teams in european competitions, so they must know something about Israeli football:tongue:
:D

Well we had Richard Moller Nielsen in the past and we almost went through. Maybe we need a foreign coach to give the players more discpline in the tactics and better physical preparation and especially the mentality part on how to get ready for big matches.

The list of players who probably won't play against Israel due to injury:

Josip Simunic (Hertha BSC)
Mladen Petric (Borussia Dortmund)
Eduardo Da Silva (Arsenal)
(C) Niko Kovac (Salzburg)
Vedran Corluka (Manchester City)
Igor Budan (A.S. Parma)
Bosko Balaban (Dinamo Zagreb)

And Modric has pain in his knee but he will be allright for Israel.

If those players above don't play than you can expect this line up:

------------Pletikosa---------------

Srna-------Kovac-------Simic---------Babic

Rakitic------Leko------Modric---------Kranjcar

----------------------Olic--------Kalinic/Rukavina/or a other striker who never played for Croatia

Even if you miss those players you still have a very strong team. Maybe it could prove to play in our advantage, but we will have to play great football in order to achieve a good result in Zagreb.

No Da Silva?!?!?

#15 ·
Petric is fine, so is Da Silva who will be back next week. Corluka's injury is not serious so he will back too I heard...

So we will come out with a near full strength team I hope. The last thing we need is a stuff up for such a crucial 3 points...

#16 ·
Iagree these 3 points are make or break for us (but we have gone into every game stating the same)

We will be playing without our captain and a hardened veteran Niko Kovac as he is out for some time due to injury, he is also our captain so a new leader will have to emerge and take us to victory.

We are playing at home against an israely side that was shaken by the english recently, but we definately know they can play football from the Israely encounter and the game which firnishe 4:3.
I must be realistic and say that we are the better side n paper and playing at home is an extra advantage we have.

Having said all thi, good luck!

we are missing Dudu Awate, which is a big loss. Any word on Colautti, is he back from injury for borrusia??

Im afraid to even watch this game, i just have a bad feeling that it will end 4-0 for Croatia or something along those lines. After the game in England, I dont see how we can get any result in Croatia, especially with our idiot coach who keeps playing mediocore players.

#18 ·
Yeah after the England match we lost confidence and i don´t see us winning in Croatia. Of course we gave them a hard time in Tel Aviv, which gives us some hope of good football and result.

Awat won´t play and it seems Kashtan won´t call Collauti. Did they have any fights=?

We can still call up Barda, Balili, and Tuama. They are all playing very well for their teams right now, frankly I think this team is better than they played against England. The coaching was poor, and the selection of the players to the NT was poor, Yaniv Katan???? WTF.

Here is how we should line up against Croatia.

--------------Tamuz---------------
---Balili------------------Itzchaki--
-------------Benayoun-------------
-------Tuama----------Tal---------
Ben-Dayan---Ben-Haim-Gershon--Ziv

------------Davidovic-------------

Subs: (Buzaglo,Barda,Benado,)

Snowbozo your team is good, but too offensive in midfield. Tal and Tuama prefer to play more forward and organizing the plays. If we had a solid defense it would be ok, but anyways. I agree with you that the team selection was poor, the criteria the same. Katan is one of his worst seasons and was even a starter in the England game.

#24 ·
They need to attack!!
no more defense bullsh*t. Tie or a loss is the same thing in this game, we're out with both results. This is a must win and they should go all out offensively.
Kinda off topic, but when was the last time Israel defeated a top team like Croatia in a qualifier? Last one I can think of was France back in 1993.

Update: Simunic, Petric and Corluka are recoverd while Eduardo, Budan, Kovac and Bosko won't play against Israel. Modric is doubtful for the Israel game. Because of the problems in the attack there is called a new player and his name is Kalinic, a 19 year old attacker from Hajduk Split.

The line-up against Israel (4-1-3-2)

----------------Pletikosa--------

--Corluka----Simic----R. Kovac-----Simunic------

-----------------J. Leko------------------

-----Srna-------------------Modric(or Rakitic)-------------Kranjcar

----------Petric---------------Olic

Maybe put Alberman or another defensive mid in there instead of Tal?
I think instead of Tuama. Alberman and Tal already play together at Beitar and this gel could prove to be important during the match. We will need Tal´s technique against Croatia we can´t leave him out IMO.

Lior, i agree, it is a must win game, but we can´t put such an offensive lineup, we also need to prtect defense. We need to be equal strength, not to much attackers, not too much defenders.

We have plenty of quality players in attack, but none of them are producing in the NT. I believe Kashtan is not placing them in the correct position. Collauti should play he makes our attack look more dangerous.

Thanks for the update Luka. So Eduardo won´t play? This is a relief news for our defense.
