Both are speedy Africans :D
One dribbles more than the other.
The other is a better finisher.
One is a bona-fide choker  and the other delivers in the clutch .

Both never delivered at the NT team level :howler: (Henry can thank Zizou for all of his NT titles)...

so who's better TITI vs DIDI???
who would you choose in their prime?

And yet Henry is France's all time top scorer.

I think Drogba is slightly the better player but it's very difficult to pick when you have to factor many different things. Good thread.

Henry is easily the better overall player throughout their careers. Right now Drogba is better obviously because of declining little earlier.

Drogba is more influential, IDHO!
He can win you games...
TITI always relied on others...
e.g. : ZIdane, Trezeguet, Bergkamp, Gilberto Silva :D

Nonsense, all players rely on others; Drogba can't cross the ball to himself. It's a team sport.

I respect Drogba immensely, but if we're talking both in their prime I'm going with Henry... on his day he was just spectacular. But they're far from mutually exclusive, their styles might actually mix very well together. Having both Titi and Didier together would be a nightmarish challenge for any defense.

Both were/are superstars, among the best strikers of the last 10 years or so.

Different type of players...Didier would be my choice as a lone center forward while Henry would be better suited alongside another striker (or a support striker).

If I were to pick one for Argentina, it would be Drogba. But overall, probably Henry

Drogba IMHO is the most feared striker of the second half of the 2000s.

if you want to compare Henry to someone, compare him to Eto'o...

Henry might be more talented than all of them but Drogba is the better performer

and who you say Drogba hasn't delivered for the NT??? He pretty much reunited a country int he middle of civil war in 2010 and twice taken Ivory Coast to the Finals of the African Cup of Nations (given yes he did miss the penalty this year to lose it...)

Drogba is BIIIIIG time

In the big games and big finals Drogba is miles better in terms of showing up when it mattered...well apart from the time Henry handled the ball to dump Ireland :palm:

However, Henry during his prime was better than prime Drogba (my opinion of course), but that is not what the topic is based around.
did you read the opening post?

And I think we should not get carried away by Drogba's this year's performance. As he has been one of the main culprit(missing sitters, whining more than playing and picking up silly red cards) during so many of Chelsea's previous failure in CL. So I dont get this Droba being the ultimate clutch man! Although he did redeemed himself with his awe-inspiring performance this season.

When I say in overall, I mean in prime, and IMO there is no real comparison between Henry and Drogba, Henry ha simply shown himself to be the better and more lethal player. Hardly relied on others as much either, kinda player you could build a team around just tell "go attack" and he would carry the team both creatively and scoring wise. Big games you would have a point, but thats also selective thinking and can be bit subjective.

And the CL final two nights ago fresh on peoples mind, so naturally peeps will more easily think Drogba, instead of really focusing on all past big games of both players. For example I hardly think anyone is considering in last CL final Drogba played, he ruined it for his team by being sent off.

The only way Henry managed to win the Champions league was with a Barcelona team that was the undisputed best in Europe. He was a non-factor in the game against Man Utd and had Messi, Xavi and Eto'o to thank for managing to get his hands on the trophy.

Henry also couldn't deliver for Arsenal against Barcelona back in 2006.

Meanwhile, Didier Drogba played a pivotal role sending Chelsea to the Champions league final and ended up winning the competition for them with an important equilaiser at the last penalty kick of the game. If Henry was in Drogba's position, he would of blasted that one over for sure.

Like I said in my previous post, Henry tends to dissappear in important match. But Henry was crucial in the season when they won that CL as part of Barca's trident with Etoo and Messi. And Henry is the current all-time top scorer for both France NT and Arsenal. He was always among top scorer and assists whenever he played, even until now in MLS.
