Club Africain (TUN) v JS Kabylie (ALG) must be the big match in this round I guess?
Also Ferroviário Maputo (MOZ) v SuperSport United (RSA) and Raja Casablanca (MAR) v Petro Atlético (ANG) must be big ties I guess.\

Some surprising results indeed, weird to see perhaps the best African nation on international level, have no teams left.

Who's actually the big favourite? Mazembe? Raja? Al Ahly? ASEC?

#9 ·
Yeah, Club Africain vs. JSK is the tie of the round, no doubt. Two former champions with a great following. Should be tense.

Ferroviário v SuperSport United is hardly a big tie. Raja have history in African football, while Petro haven't achieved anything worth mention outside of Angola.

Ghanian teams haven't had good results in a while. Though I remember the Hearts of Oak side which won this tournament in 2000, they were pretty good.

We're going through a transition phase. New coach (Manuel Jose's former assistant), youth being blended into the team.. so, dunno. Experience, we have plenty of but I'm not sure if Abo Treka and Barakat can still perform for us, what with injuries and age and all..

Club Africain 1-1 JSK

Club Africain had 2 players sent off in the 1st half, btw.

#11 ·
We lost 1-0 away to Gunners (Zimbabwe)

cheap goal to let in.

Ismaily 3-1 Stade Tamponnaise

#12 ·
JSK beat Club African 1-0 in Algairs
JSK played with ten players after scoring goal at 37'
The stupied played Yahia Sherif who scored the goal took off his shirt (He had a yellow card)
so the refree give him the 2nd yellow card and sent him off

But the tunisian players cannot treat with this issue and lost by this goal

Round of 16
Returns 7/8/9 - May
Al Ittihad [Libya] 2 - 0 Al Ahly [Egypt]
EST [Tunisia] 3 - 0 Al Merreikh [Sudan]
Entente Setif [Algeria] 1 - 0 Zanaco [Zambia]
Supersport United [South Africa] 1 - 1 Heartland FC [Nigeria]
Dynamos [Zimbabwe] 4 - 1 Gaborone United [Botswana]
Djoliba AC [Mali] 0 - 1 TP Mazembe [RD Congo]
JS Kabylie [Algeria] 2 - 0 Petro Atletico Luanda [Angola]
El Hilal [Sudan] 0 - 1 Ismaily [Egypt]

Disappointing result from Al Ahly in Libya, both Sudanese teams lost while both Algerian teams left won.

Any clear favourite already?
Dynamos result seems impressive but I don't know Gaborone's strength, also Mazembe did well in Mali just as Ismaily in Sudan.

We overturned the 1st leg defeat and won 3-0 tonight. :proud:

Round 2

Group A

Esperance 1-0 Dynamos
Mazembe 2-2 Setif

Group B

Al-Ahly 2-1 Ismaily (btw I was present at Cairo int. stadium with fellow Xtratimer Raulito and a couple of friends)
JSK 1-0 Heartland

#24 ·
Both teams had chances, could have gone either way. Ismaily's goalie, Sobhy, is usually a donkey but he made 3-4 very good saves.

Our defender Ahmed el Sayed was a disgrace. Abo Treka had one nice free kick and that's about it..

As for the attendance, the stadium was about half full so 30-35k. People are on vacations this time of the year so..
