we should put things right in the Ruhrpott again and send them home with relief. we have to be careful with the Sane-Meyer combo. without Geis in the midfield they certainly miss the organizing factor. lets beat them!

Also Klaas Jan Huntelaar can be very dangerous considering that our defense lacks concentration and caught napping at times. None the less Schalke 04 have a free scoring team to worry about, Miki and PEA are certain to find the back of the net.

It was one of the most entertaining derbies in recent memory, end to end stuff. Had it been not for Farhmann we would've put the game to bed early, the guy really did a great job bar those 3 goals conceded. Also I must say, Germany's got exiting and great prospects in Ginter, Weigl and Sane. A player who was so disappointing was Mats Hummels, he always gets caught out of position and sometimes he makes questionable decisions and I think he really needs to up his game. All in all it was a great game of football and I'm glad we came out victorious in the end, also keep up the pace with Bayern Munchen

entertaining stuff and of course fully deserved victory for us.:thumbsup: Mickey could have wrapped up the game by scoring the 4-1 but Fährmann with a great safe on that one. We definetly scored to the right time and controlled most of the match. Both Socratis and Hummels with gifts to Schalke that just made life a bit more difficult yesterday.

Ginter MoM :musik::thumbsup:

post match comments:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang:
"We put in a very good performance and were worthy winners in the end. I'm delighted that I scored. The third goal really helped us out, but the game was by no means over as you could see. I'd like to dedicate the goal to Marco Reus. I actually prepared the t-shirt together with him."

Shinji Kagawa: "I'm surprised with myself, because I definitely did not expect to score a goal with a header. Towards the end we sort of had to hang on for our victory a bit. I think a lot of praise should go to Ralf Fährmann, who stopped a number of great chances from us. However, we created a whole host of chances and that is important. All that counts at the end of the derby is winning."
"It was a tough, stressful match"

Julian Weigl: "Up until Schalke's second goal we played very well, had control of the match, a lot of possession and always found solutions. Then they pulled one back from a counter-attack - and that can always happen. That put wind in Schalke's sails and they started to press us. During that phase the fans really helped us out by urging us forward. But we deserved to win the game in any case."

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: "It was a very tough, very stressful match. For those watching it must have been very interesting. We could have been 4-1 or 5-1 up at one point, but then we went and conceded. In the end, though, we prevailed and so of course we are very happy."
"I am very satisfied with the performance"

Ilkay Gündogan: "Schalke pulling one back to make it 3-2 was slightly unlucky. It meant we let them back into the game, even though the match had almost seemed over. Nevertheless, we still performed well after that goal too. Things never really got overly dangerous for us again. Of course we could have scored even more goals - I could have personally. But at the end it's only the victory that counts. The atmosphere was sensational. It's always a magnificent feeling to celebrate a derby win in front of the South Stand."

Michael Zorc: "It would have even been deserved if we had won by a greater margin. We were very dominant, particularly between the 46th and 70th minutes when we could have made it 4-1 or 5-1. We could still work on converting some of the chances that fall our way, but I am very satisfied with the team's performance."
