On Wednesday we will look to extend our unbeaten run to 17 matches whilst also looking to extend our lead at the top of our Champions League Group.

We have turned into something of an away day specialist in the Champions League and have won 7 of our last 10 matches away from home which have included wins v AC Milan, FC Porto, Benfica and Borrusia Dortmund.

We have played Leverkusen in recent years and gave them a 4-1 thrashing on their own patch in an Andrey Arshavin inspired performance

Team news for Zenit - Expect Lombaerts, Criscito, Witsel and Shatov all to return to team after all not starting yesterday.

If we can pick up maximum points in our double header with Leverkusen it will almost be impossible not to have qualified. This would be our 3rd qualification from our last 4 Champions League attempts.

Let's do this Zenit.

I've just noticed i've still got that White Zenit Puma Top in my Wardrobe that Zenit are wearing in the match v Leverkusen above. Long sleeve too.

Bought it when they used to have a Puma Shop on Nevsky Prospekt, long before the days of there being a Zenit Arena shop on Nevsky Prospekt.

I'm pretty sure I completely forgot I still had it and I certainly haven't worn it for the best part of 4-5 years.

If we can win these 2 matches v Bayern Lervekusen it will almost impossible to qualify.

For example - We go to 10 points

This would mean they could only get 9 points.

If Benfica win and Monaco win in their 2 head to 2 matches, then Benfica can only get to 9 points.

if Monaco and Benfica draw 1 and Monaco win the other head to head, Benfica can only get to 7 points if they win all their last 2 matches. If Monaco and Benfica draw and Benfica win then Benfica would need to win all their remaning matches and inflict a 3-0 defeat on us on our home turf for us not to qualify and that is also on the basis of Monaco picking up 2 wins from their last 2 matches too taking them to 11 points.

Let's do this Zenit for our biggest fanatic Kleber, the bloke bleeds Blue and White.

i don't like zenit.
bebe would play in zenit.
villas boas destroyed all zenit players.
zenit players are done for the season

Following line up looks pretty nailed on -

Lodygin
Smolynkov
Lombaerts
Garay
Criscito
Witsel
Shatov
Danny
Hulk
Garcia
Rondon

We have at least got some fresh legs in there, Lombaerts, Shatov and Criscito all not played at the weekend and Witsel with a cameo 30 minutes.

Let's go Piter!

If Shatov isn't fit, Fayzulin to take his place.

Outside chance Kerzhakov starts instead of Rondon but Rondon is the man and I fancy him to score tomorrow should he start. Last time in Germany he scored that brilliant diving header in the 2-1 win against Dortmund.

Why else would Kleber be posting about the entire match and watching it instead of watching Benfica?

You wouldn't get excited if a favoured team was beating a non favoured team whilst your team were playing, imagine me and you watching Olimpiakos v Juve in the middle of the Zenit match?

It has got to be because it was a shock he decided to give up watching his own team and watch Zenit instead.

Rondon and Danny weren't at the races, Danny has only had one poor spell at Zenit in 6 years and that was at the start of year 2013, he now looks like he has gotten into a bad spell again but I know he will come good again. Rondon had 2-3 poor matches in a row but likewise he will come good too, just a shame they are both off form at the same time.

Hulk had a decent game as did most of the defence for the most part, this could easily have finished 0-0.

There was hardly anything in the match, 13 shots for them, 8 for us. A few dubious decisions by the ref including Hulk being fouled in the lead up to the goal.

I've said it a million times before but I don't like Anyukov starting, I much prefer Smolynkov, whilst neither of the goals were Anyukov's fault and he didn't do anything wrong, Smolynkov and Hulk got a great understanding.

Witsel looked rusty which is understandable after his long lay off.
