I realized we as yet dont have a general Premier League thread so I decided I would make one. I hope we can use this to discuss the latest results in the league.

Well the first thing that i wanted to bring up was that Kilikia just beat Pyunik 1-0. How one of the lowest teams in the league defeats the number 1 undefeated team is beyond me, but i guess upsets like this are healthy for the League and will serve to keep the best teams on their toes and to give the worse ones hope. Did anyone see the game or know how this happened?

Damn Kilikia 1-0 Pyunik !!! :eekani:
That's a shocking result and I believe a good one as well.

Shirak is relegated, that must suck to be contenders in top leagues all throughout their existance in the Soviet League and Armenian League. :frownani: AND NOW BE IN THE 2ND LEAGUE.

I am really concerned Who is 3rd place??? TAKE A LOOK :nervous:
GP W D L GS GF PTS
Ararat 28 12 7 9 40 33 43
Banants 28 12 7 9 40 39 43
UEFA.COM shows Ararat to be in third place, :smileani:
Yet FCBANANTS.COM says that they took the bronze. :smileani:

I AM CONFUSED :dazed:
AND TO THOSE WHO THINK IT DOESN'T MATTER. YES IT DOES... Third place contends for the UEFA Cup along with MIKA, but fourth place plays for the Intertoto Cup IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN

I hope the day comes when a real rivalry is created between Ararat and Pyunik. This system of one team cleary outclassing the others does not make for entertaining football, nor does it improve the league.

Only positive thing is that Pyunik now can do *relatively* well against clubs from other leagues. But then again, if the general quality of the league increases, and it becomes more competitive, the best club will also become more competitive.

Hey guys i just found out that Shirak is not going to be relegated to a lower league.
INstead the Armenian Premier League in 2005 will have more than 8 teams, including Shirak.
I dont know how many though?
I think it is good news since because I believe Shirak will get it together over the break. Plus I believe that we should have 10 clubs in the Premier League.
What do you guys think? GOOD OR BAD NEWS?

With Manucharyan, Bete, Petrosyan, and soon Lombe leaving Pyunik:
They need to bring up new kids or get some good players from abroad.
Who do you guys think we need in our number 1 club? :smileani:
Aramo jan, aper have you heard of any rumors about who pyunik is looking for? :D

Go Pyunik in 2005 Champions League :fero:

which teams are getting promoted?
I am not sure, but Pyunik-2 won the First League this year.
Maybe we will have two Pyunik's in next year. :googly:

I hope Ararat becomes a contender as well bro.
I like Pyunik, for sure
BUT I wish the day will come when all the clubs will be contenders for championship :shades:

Cement are you refering to Spartak Yerevan in the 60's. Because there used to be Spartak Yerevan, that became Ararat the most famous club in Armenia throughout the soviet years all the way now.

If I'm not mistaken, there could have been another Spartak Yerevan team for the current Armenian League.
