Ararat didn't have the proper licensing to play European matches.

Ararat was supposed to play in the 2nd qualifying round of Europa league because they got second place last year. However, with their licensing problem, that spot goes to the next runner up which was Gandzasar. Also, now that Ararat is gone anyway MIKA will step in to take the final European spot.

We usually start in the 1st qualifying round of both leagues however I think weaker nations will play in those rounds like San Marino, Malta, etc.

Does anybody know whether a team is allowed to strengthen its squad from other teams from the same league which do not participate in the tounament. I remember few years back Kilikia did it. If that is the case gandzasar, banants, even MIka should do it. There are many qualified players in Ulis, Ararat. They can share the financial profits later or else they are going no where.

Watch for our clubs to make some big moves in preparation for their respective Euro tournaments.

Look for MIKA to sign 3-4 more players including possibly a strong striker.

Look for Banants to sign Hamlet Mkhitaryan, bring in a defender from Belarus U-21 (who are about to play in the U-21 EURO finals this month), and possibly bring in 4-5 more players.

Pyunik have the Champions League group stage in their minds and are preparing for a big training including bringing strong Latin American and African players for trial. One African player could possibly be Kenya NT striker Allan Wanga whos transfer value is now worth $350,000 and is also being chased by Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. and as always this repeated rumour comes up, but maybe watch for Markos to make a return to Pyunik.

The Draw Is In

The draw finally came for our clubs' European matches. Here are the results.

FC Pyunik have been given a challenging task to their campaign by landing NK Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia. The first leg will be in Yerevan on either 14/15 of July then in Zagreb a week later on 21/22 of July. The good news is, UEFA has banned Zagreb fans due to riots last year so in the away match it will be played in an empty stadium and also they cannot come to the stadium in Yerevan either. If Pyunik signs strong players like they intend to, we might have a chance.

FC MIKA will have to face none other than Henrik Larsson himself and his crew of Helsingborgs IF of Sweden. The winner of this match will move on to face the winner of Northern Ireland's Lisburn Distillery FC and Georgia's FC Zestafoni. This is a debatable contest. Armenian sides have had some success against the Swedes this year, including MIKA getting a 1-1 draw against last years Swedish champions Kalmar, while Banants defeated Gefle by a score of 2-0. However, Helsingborg's made it to the Round of 32 in last years UEFA Cup. First leg is in Sweden on July 2nd and return match in Yerevan on July 9. If MIKA can sign a few decent players, I think we have a decent chance of maybe even the third round. Helsingborgs will be the biggest challenge though.

FC Banants have been spared a ridiculous opponent this year and have been handed NK Široki Brijeg of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Not much information about this opponent, besides the fact half the club is full of Croats. I think Banants have a chance. However if Banants win they will be headed right back into Austria with a date against SK Sturm Graz. First leg is July 2 in Bosnia, and return is July 9 in Yerevan.

Since FC Banants was spared a tough opponent, Gandzasar unfortunately was given a death time line. The club has been matched up against NAC Breda of Netherlands. This match is gone right from the start. The only thing we might possibly see if we are lucky is a 0-0 draw in Armenia. I'm sure the Gandzasar fans will be at their loudest in this match. First leg is July 16 in Netherlands and return leg is July 23 in Armenia.

It's pretty stupid that they made both Armenian clubs play their home matches on the same day. Attendance will significantly decrease cuz people wont know which game to attend.

Siroki didnt earn the Europa League spot on the pitch. They finished 6 in the BiHPL but since the 3rd place Sloboda and 5th place Borac were denied a licence to play in Europe their spot was given to Siroki.

Greetings from Bad Blue Boys of Zagreb.
I think chances of passing r 80-20 in our favor. After all we have better players and far more history then u (no offense).
In last few years we sold all are best players abroad, but in my opinion we still have some great players left and extraordinary talents playing at the moment.
As fans go,,, well despite we r banned from attending away matches u will prob see us in Armenia. I mean it's not like we like rules to much

Srna advice Dynamo

Twice Dario Srna played against the Armenian "Pyunik (in Shakhtar Donetsk's squad), future rival Zagreb Dynamo in the Champions League qualification.

- We had hard time against them, it is a very hard team. For "Dinamo" will not be easy, waiting heavy games and anything you can not say definitely. We both times defeated "Pyunik", but minimally. Even it was difficult to play in Donetsk - quotes Dario Sportal.hr.
- To the Armenians is especially difficult to play on their field, where they were warmly supported by the local audience?
- As I recall, the grass is also worthless. Players' of Pyunik do not complex against anyone. As far as "Dynamo" will be motivated to pass, Armenians motivation will be ten times more. Frankly, the players from Dynamo stronger, but if they were underestimated, then expect troubles. Armenians prefer combination football and a quick, active, especially when their supporters are pushing them forward.

I kind of understood, but couldn't find Croatian - English translator:

Pretkolu Lige prvaka Pyunika i Mike.
