Chelsea will ask Fifa to investigate an alleged illegal approach from Real Madrid for Dutch winger Arjen Robben.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants and new Real president Ramon Calderon has admitted his interest in Robben.

But Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon said: "We note that Mr Calderon confirms Real Madrid spoke to Arjen.

"As a result Chelsea will be writing to Fifa to ask them to investigate an illegal approach by Real Madrid."

He added: "The Arjen Robben situation could not be any clearer.

''There have been no meetings or conversations between the Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic with any Chelsea officials, anyone mandated to act on Chelsea's behalf or owner Roman Abramovich about Arjen's future.

"Any indication that a transfer is possible is completely untrue. We will not be entertaining any offers for Arjen, he is not for sale."

what are they complaining about? calderon and pedja had nothing to do with the club in any way when they spoke to his agent. plus i beleive pedja is not an agent anymore, thus he cant be implicated. so both pedja and calderon were speaking to his agent on behalf on themselves, like any commoner would speak to the agent. robben never signed any sort of agreement.

doubt this will get anywhere.

pot kettle black.

Chelsea have tapped up Ashley cole, Rio Ferdinand, Shevechenko, Gerrard etc.
yeah but we should be wiser than going down chelsea's line. Ive always said that we should never stoop to the level of idiots, and two wrongs never ever make a right.

if chelsea found a problem with us then they should take it up with whomever they want they have every right, but im confidentwe have done nothing wrong, as its not the first time this scenario has been played out.

This Calderon is making us look like fools. One thing is to announce things as a candidate, but now he's president and he's still trotting out the same old lines, and all the clubs interested - Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal - are issuing stringent denials and now threatening action with FIFA.

It doesn't matter that Chelsea has done it before. In my opinion every club does it, and the laws related to tapping up are anachronistic. But think of it this way, if Chelsea have done it, been caught, and punished for it, if anything that would only make them more likely to denounce us, because if they got punished for it why should they sit by idly?

What this is all amounting to is Calderon's promises being total lies, he never said "I promise to bring Capello...and try to sign Cesc, Kaka and Robben." No, he said he would get all four, and has still been beating on about it, before and after being elected. I dont think this would have been the case with Palacios or Villar Mir. In Villar Mir's case, the player has come out several times stating his intentions and desire to join Real Madrid. Not a peep yet from any of Kaka, Robben, or Cesc. In Palacios case not only did he want players who have openly stated their desire to join us (Reyes, Joaquin) or players whose contracts he could buy out, but also if you noticed there was never any noise from these players' clubs saying all of it was ridiculous...

Having said this, I must also admit that Chelsea is laughable. They've tapped up Rio, A Cole, Shevchenko, and not to mention Makelele, and just 1 month ago, Roberto Carlos, and now they have the nerve to complain? What a bunch of shameless twats

:howler: oh the irony, they tap up obi and arnesen then when they get threatened pay 10m each for a youngster and a youth director, jsut to dig themselves a hole.

they constantly unsettled Gerrard, tapped him up and leaked fake stories to start problems at Liverpool, and now they are reporting someone. im not suprised though :lala:

let them try to take us to fifa, at least calderon didnt talk to robben as a real madrid president he was a normal guy talking to a player's agent; anyway we have a proof that they offered r. carlos a contract while he is our player thats 100 times worst than only talking wiz an agent...

You beat me to it.

Calderon was not representing Real Madrid when he and Mijatovic spoke to Robben. And all Calderon has so far said is that he and his group had spoken to the player BEFORE he became president.

It is ridiculous to report Real Madrid. I can't remember now how many futile letters Milan have written to FIFA "reporting" Real Madrid over Kaka!

I did not even know they offerred a contract to R. Carlos. I would, however, suggest than, rather than report Chelsea for what is a clear violation, let Real Madrid get good cach from them and ship of RC. After so many years of meritorious service and his form having nowhere else to go but southbound, it is not bad business to let RC leave for a bumper contract with Chelsea.

The reason why Chelsea are so two-face about this is due to the fact that we & several other clubs mean more to some players than Romans money.

You cant buy class
