anyway i thought it was an interesting table - it takes all the European results from 1955 up to last season and calculates them into a table based on wins and draws, goal difference and such like (must have taken ages to find all the data for every club!)

if you want to see the all time top 776 clubs its on this http://www.geocities.com/jfaugeras/uefaallt.html

Rangers @ #11, not bad :proud:

#6 ·
Points per game:

Borussia Mönchengladbach (27th) 1.60
Tottenham (40th) 1.59
Bayern (2nd) 1.58
Real Madrid (1st) 1.55
Liverpool (10th) 1.54
Juve (3rd) 1.54
Man Utd (12th) 1.51
Rangers (11th)1.24

Broussia MGB the greatest club in Europe, who'd have thought it....

They did have a tendancy to lose to Liverpool in the final.

I actually think this is all crap. If its done in terms of trophies Liverpool would be 4th or 5th. Just two places above Manure?! Bollox.
its not done in terms of trophies though ;)

however if the league table looked at teams performances up to about 1998 ish (when the CL went to 2 group stages) then it would probably be a more accurate indicator of 'all time European performance' (and the likes of Man U which have done well over the last 5-6 years would drop about 20 odd places)

This is bull****

the first 5 real ones are bull****, as it was basically a one match deal.

realistically milan have 5, real have 4,

so it should be milan real bayern etc.

That's crap. Which years did Milan win the European Cup?

1963, 1969, 1989, 1990, and 1994.

Three of these came in the ban on English clubs, and 1963 was still in the era of "one match deals".

So actually, it should be Real, Bayern, Liverpool.

Please, so all those championships during the ban were invalid? They don't count? AT ALL?

I agree in general with your 3 teams, but Milan has done as much as Bayern Munich or Liverpool. Also, this whole discussion is a bit flawed because people think football didn't exist before 1955. If you want to extend the time back further.. then its pretty clear that english clubs would dominate. Basically that's why I don't believe too much in having an all-time list such as this, its much better to pick the biggest club in the world right now, which is unquestionably Real Madrid... Bayern Munich could overtake them though if they won the CL this year.

Are you this offensive when you discuss with someone face to face? Or do you see this as your only chance to throw out complete meaningless, disrespectful, false and childish arguments?

Maybe I need to add extra comments to make sure people understand my tone and, therefore, my point. My point was a criticism of lav's statement:

Since he used the excuse that, "the first 5 real ones are bull****", to improve his own club's standing, I thought that I'd satirise that by copying his style to do the complete opposite to Milan.

Yes, Milan have one of the finest records in the Champions' League, but anyone that claims that any team bar Real Madrid deserves the title as the best ever team in the European Cup needs their head checked.
