It's only right that an Egyptian starts this thread, seeing as an Egyptian player played a big part in the path of one of the 2 finalists  :proud:

Will Real continue their domination or can Liverpool put their dominance to an end?

Liverpool is the first English team to reach a CL final since Chelsea in 2012.

Don't think it will be one sided. Real's players are used to finals which is an advantage for them, but they have had problems, their qualification was hardly smooth/easy. Real were a goal away from elimination at home by a Bayern team which missed 3-4 starters.

That Navas save (on Tolisso iirc) was massive. Moreover Bayern pretty much gifted 2 goals to Real in the tie. One in Munich (Rafinha) and one in Madrid (Ulriech)

Liverpool of 2005 was way behind Milan of 2005 but they won the final..

a) Ronaldo / but Salah is in better form (than anyone really these days)

b) Modric / also not in his best form, but just too good. The top 10 mids in this tie are all Real Madrid; Klopp eally has done magic here, especially without Coutinho, Can and Oxlade...

c) Ramos/Marcelo depending what you're looking for.

I still think Liverpool has a vey good chance of winning; 50/50 for me.

Football is funny. I was rooting for Zidane in last season's final, but now I will root against him. :D

The way Real has played these last two return games almost begs for Liverpool to kick their asses. They leave massive spaces in the back, a team with the kind of pace in transition Liverpool has can really hurt them. I imagine Zidane will adjust, but who knows.

At the same time, the mental weakness that Liverpool has shown in defining moments also seems exactly what Real feeds on -- panicking/getting complacent in the end and conceding unnecessarily goals, losing concentration in the back, poor at set pieces, etc.

We may be headed towards final with a few goals.

They'll be more solid with Casemiro, Isco and Carvajal back in the side. If ZZ plays his best side and doesn't do any tactical missteps.

While Liverpool's defensive blunders are almost a certainty in the final.

Plus this Liverpool have never faced a side as lethal as Real.

Whilst Real have knocked out PSG, Juve and Bayern.

No brainer for me, Real will be licking their licks at what Roma did tonight.

At least it was Bayern who made Real look vulnerable.

Congratulations to Real MaTRId, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS 2017/2018!!!

Hey Jürge, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better

Truth is, you got a ticket to ride...the BBC  that is! And on May 26, you will find out why we are the cream of the crop!
Can you peons remember the last team in professional sports to win three consecutive championships (3-peat)?

1991–1993 Chicago Bulls.
1996–1998 Chicago Bulls.
2000–2002 Los Angeles Lakers.
And pretty soon CR7 and company will join this list!

We are not going to pull an AC Bilan 2005, Oh Nooooo...never that!
This current Liverpool side lacks a leader! This Liverpool team lacks a Steven Robson  or whatever his name was!

Let's compare and contrast the names shall we?

Real Madrid

1. Keylor "the BROWN Spider" Navas
2. Dani "the Spanish Carlos Alberto" Carvajal
5. Raphaël "the French Nesta" Varane
4. Sergio "best Spanish defender of all-time" Ramos
12. Marcelo aka Nilton Santos 2000
14. Casemiro aka Brazilian Rijkaard
8. Toni "the Brazilian Didi" Kroos
10. Luka "the Croatian Matthaus" Modrić
22. Isco aka the most talented Spanish footballer of all-time
9. Karim "the reformed terror!st" Benzema
7. Cristiano Ronaldo "Greatest left-winger of all-time, greatest Europeon footballer of all-time, and the best player of his generation."

Liverpool

1. Who's this woman and why is she so flat?
66. Are you kidding me?
4. Mini Van What?
6. Who's this turk?
26. LOL
14. Naaaah
5. Are you sure about that?
7. Come again?
19. Speedy African
9. Poor Man's Paolo Guerrero
11. Halal Meat

There's no way, we are going to lose to these bunch of nobodies!
Beating Guardiola means nothing anymore, everyone already has!

Bottom line is:
Some teams may win 6 titles in one season...
others may go invincible an entire season undefeated in league and cup competition...
but ONLY ONE TEAM has managed to win 5 straight OREJONAS, yours truly REAL MADRID in the 20th Century! And there's ONLY ONE TEAM that will manage to win the coveted 3-Peat in the 21st Century! Yes, you've guessed it: That's us again, REAL MADRID!

Your own rejected prince Hames Rodriguez punished your puny midfield just IMAGINE what HAMES MILNER going to do to your ass?!? Its not our fault that the rest of Europe couldn't hang with your sorry ass brother, this is the big time now, this ain't lil leagues. Yeah you belong to God but my son come May 26 you will realize that your arms are just too short to box with GOD.

Gonna be a fascinating final. We've seen that this Madrid team is more vulnerable than in the previous two years. Liverpool may be inconsistent but when they get going, they have shown they can dominate any team in Europe.

Plus they will have the usual almost-home advantage they have in European finals. As usual, Madrid fans will be sitting silently on their hands. The only Real fans making any noise are the glory hunters from other continents, and that is just on web boards.

Yes, I think there is something very romantic about this final, not just because of the clubs they are, but because how imperfect they've seemed lately. i wish I could see it as a neutral, I would 100% enjoy it. Doing so is quite impossible if you support one of the teams, it's just that it gets much worse when you are aware of how erratic, or at least how unpredictable both teams are.

I think that Liverpool beating Man City both home and away is the most impressive showing in these CL knockouts, even if the latter result was helped by the ref. This second leg in the semi may seem like they hardly deserve to be in the final, but they have certainly showed enough before that to be contenders.

^^^You guys sure know how to keep it classy classy

I have to say that, while Real Madrid of course have a very good chance of winning, I question whether anybody saying Liverpool "don't stand a chance" have seen actually any of these two teams play this season.

I have! Personally, I want Zidane fired, win or lose, after this game. Talent and luck have bailed him out enough times throughout his tenure, specially this season. We have the better side, will they score some goals? Yeah, that's very probable but will they outscore us? I highly doubt that!

#35 ·
Probably a draw. Meaningless match for Real and Barca already has the title in the bag. Looks like it will be among the more boring El Classicos in recent years but I'm still excited.

#36 ·
Mo Salah was quite off form against Chelsea today.

#39 ·
Real lost to worse teams than Chelsea in La Liga this season though.

#41 ·
Possibly, yes. He rarely gets rested by Klopp. Salah is driven by desire to prove himself in EPL and win the top scorer award.

There's a gap of 2 weeks between the Brighton and Real matches though, so he will hopefully get a bit of rest.
