My first match thread (that I remember anyway) :D

Needless to say, an extremely vital game for our pursuit of 4th place. Add that Lazio and Empoli are up againts each other while struggling Palermo are up for a tough match away at Samp.

The official site reports that Carlo will finally in a long time to able to call upon a full squad, with ALESSANDRO THE GREAT ready for some minutes and IL CONCORDE to have a place on the bench. Il Capitano however, looks to be injured :( Pirlo is also banned

My Lineup:

Dida

Oddo-Bonera-Simic-Jankulovski

Gourcuff-Gattuso-Seedorf

Kaká

Gilardino-Ronaldo

Gazzetta at the moment, are suggesting a midfield of Brocchi-Gattuso-Ambro  with Oli upfront instead of Gila.

We still miss Maldini and Kaladze!!

I'm only wishing for a classy performance.. At San Siro this would bring happiness back to tifosi, esp to the curva sud!! Kaka', Ronaldo, Pirlo, Seedorf, and Gilardino particularly have to make it a great game, have to rebuild hope for the 4th spot and CL success!!

I would love to see Gourcuff, same as your lineup jani!! Just adding Pirlo!!

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!

Just adding Pirlo!!
pirlo is banned for this game according to gazzetta.it, fith yellow i supppose.

i just hope carlo plays our usual 4312 instead of 4411 which he applied in our last games. it's ok against strong opposition or in ultra important games but not at home against atalanta.

with pirlo, kaladze, maldini all out and serginho and nesta just coming back from serious injuries i wish for this lineup:

Ronaldo - Oli
Kaka
Gourcuff - Brocchi - Gattuso
Janku - Bonera - Simic - Oddo
Dida

a strong running midfield which pressures atalanta in their own side, no sitting back.

we need a convincing win and this lineup surely would give atalanta a run for their money.

forza milan
forza tre punti
forza 4' spot

@ Liternit

I wonder what motives do you have insulting players loved by people in this forum, above all, players considered Logos for Milan like Gennaro Gattuso!!

Is it something you'd like to prove or what??

Don't you think its been too much already??

I mean whats funny is not anymore so!!!

Milan forum has been suffering a lot due to childish behaviours, I wonder what would it take to stop that, and resume our talks normally!!

Post deleted, thank you!!

his week already provided we beat Atalanta should be a good week.

Palermo who have played one more game than us and +6 travel to Sampdoria this week. It will be hard for them to get anything but a point in that game. So we could easily be 3 or 4 points behind them with a game in hand.

Lazio play Empoli at home this week. If they cancel each other out completely we will be 4 behind Lazio and equal with Empoli. If Empoli do the unthinkable and win we would be closed the gap to one game with Lazio and Empoli would still be 2 points behind. A win for Lazio which is the most likely outcome means we will be ahead of Empoli.

This would mean very likely be equal for 4th spot along with Empoli and Palermo theoretically with 11 games to go! Let's not forget we have Ronaldo now and since then we have improved and realistically were 8+ the better team if you don't count the deduction anyway. Plus Nesta and Serghino should be back soon. On top that of the remainder of the 11 games 9 of those are from lower half of the table teams. We have an excellent draw.

The only big issue will be the first week in April. We have 3 massive matches in the space of seven days:

Roma-Milan Apr 1
Milan-Bayern Apr 3
Milan-Empoli Apr 7

This could be a make or break week (we seem to get one of these every year) with return leg 4 days later.

At the end of the day we Milanisti live for these weeks. We derive enormous pleasure from the anticipation to the experience. If one thing I have learned in over 2 decades of following Milan is that when we truly tested we have a character that tends to rise above it.

I recently went to uefa.com to have a look at something and when I clicked on the CL section the video that came up was to my surprise was the Athens match against Barcelona since this years final will be held there. Remember that game how we the massive underdog? I remember it clearly how much I thought it was bullshit. The same way it appears like bullshit now. I just look at players we have, the great tradition, the fact we have being the best side in world this decade and can only think we will prove the doubters wrong yet again.

yeah roma is going to catch you all so u better beat ascoli :pp
just joking

dude wtf are you talking about palermo suck right now and empoli are not going to sustain this form and lazio will hopefully knock down ther morale we will get 4th and win will be nice today but its not life or death so this comment was out of place.
i still think we will win it

on another note... cavani goes crazy again today.
I HOPE WE TRY TO sign him this summer
very great talent and i am SO HAPPY he chose italy :proud: we need more talents like him.

Interesting Ancelloti has selected 4 attackers and 6 midfielders which suggests he will play with 2 strikers at least. Ronaldo will definitely start vut who will partner him? Could be anyone of them but I hear reports it will be Oliviera this week since he might be more settled now since his sister has comeback. Otherwise I'm tipping Inzaghi.

If he does play the X-mas tree who will play in Pirlo's role? Can Gourcuff be put there?

Milan injuries - Kaladze, Serginho, Maldini
Milan suspensions - Pirlo (1), Borriello (until 21/3)

Atalanta injuries - Vieri, Conteh, Ventola, Zampagna

After the derby defeat now Milan have to come back. We're 6 points behind Lazio on the 4th position so we shouldn't miss chances like this for winning 3 points on 11 matches before the season end

the proposed line-ups are :yuck:

milan channel says:
Oddo--Bonera--Simic--Janku
---Rino--Brocchi--Seedorf---
-----------Kaka----------------
------Ronaldo--Oliveira-------
channel 4 says:
Milan (probable): Dida; Oddo, Bonera, Simic, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Ambrosini, Gourcuff, Seedorf; Kaka; Ronaldo
goal.com says:
Milan (4-3-1-2): Dida; Oddo, Bonera, Simic, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Brocchi, Seedorf; Kakà; Oliveira, Ronaldo
gazzeta says:

------------------------Dida-------------------------

Oddo--------Bonera---------Simic-----Jankulovski

Gattuso---------------Brocchi------------Ambrosini

--------------------Kakà--------------------------

-----------Ronaldo------------Oliveira
The midfield looks weak, pathetic. Anyway; if we loose I'm happy that I haven't been tortured by Gattuso-Brocchi-Ambrosini line up.

I would have liked to see Gourcuff from the start indeed, but the fact that we're not playing 4-4-1-1 is good enough for me.

FORZA MILAN!

No Ventola and No Zampagna :eekani:

it's a definite home win then.
