I dont give it the big ITK and with transfers I very rarely know fack all, but I know from personal links exactly what happened with mata. As luck had it, I'm good friends with a chartered accountant who works for a north London based finance company (can PM anybody name) that Arsenal works with for various finance related things.

So what did Law and the board do that caused the transfer to collapse? And why couldn't we raise our offer by ÂŁ3m to match Chelseas?

Well what I was told was that Dick Law disputed the expiration date and even legality of the buy out clause.

Btw My friends company actually work on behalf of Arsenal on financial details around appartments young foreign signings til they settle (what Arsenal does). Mata was going to be given an appt on the ridgeway, Enfield, where the club also placed Fabregas and
Senderos in the past. That's how close we were, they had his appt ready :-(

That just makes it all worse, mate. Mata was the difference when Arsenal lost at home in the league to Chelsea, this season. That's a six point swing between the two clubs, all because of an incompetent employee with an admittedly cool name.

Walcott & Sagna left out of the 2013 calendar :howler: we've seen all this before. Can only mean one thing, the managers had his heart broken again so he's cutting loses.

Anyone who can defend him sacking off Walcott & Sagna AFTER RVP is deluded. We're constantly starting again and never building a team, sick of it.

:howler: He's trying to rouse his disciples again with more finance talk and of course it falls on more than willing ears.

No manager anywhere has ever bleated on about football finances as much as this current Arsenal manager. Ever. It's not even close. He's just far beyond anything before or now in that regard.

We see his quotes in black and white and yet still, still there are worshippers of the manager that think he is seperate from the board in this continuing obsession with finances.

Arsenal fans never used to give a shit about finances. They never used to utter a word about it. This all started with the arrival of Abramovich. When he arrived the Arsenal hierarchy got together including the manager and decided that the course they would take would be the complete opposite, stadium debt taken into consideration, because they could foresee that the club would be in trouble in winning the big trophies again. Then the manager took the moral high ground, started continually preaching and the disciples took his every word as the mantra and the gospel, hook, line and sinker. And these fans are the most depressing out of everyone. The only reason they take on the mantra is because it's a comforter and a solace to them. It's a substitute for winning the big trophies. It's a bit pathetic isn't it.

The board and the manager love all this because when they don't win the big trophies or don't even look seriously to challenge for them they can say well at least we are falling short doing things the "honourable" way. But there has been nothing "honourable" about it for several years now or even if it was in the first place. What we have now is a manager, board, club in the comfort zone.

Look at Chelsea last season and forget poxy finances for one minute. They knew they were struggling in the league and the pressure was huge on them to make amends in the CL. It would have been a mini-disaster for them to not have made amends in the big european trophy. The pressure was well and truly on for them but this pressure spurred them on to win it. Their situation was the complete opposite to Arsenal. There was no comfort zone at Chelsea. It was do or die, sink or swim. You must have a spur to win big and Arsenal have just been coasting along using the shitty high moral high ground mantras as their fall back when they have inevitably fallen short.

It's got to change and will only change when certain personnel have finished their time at the club and the current Arsenal manager is near the top of the list if not at the top of the list of those that need to go to get a different mindset at the club.

This says it all really, Wenger admits that the best he can deliver for Arsenal is third place, and that simply is not good enough - especially after his lies about thinking we can win the title.

"Honestly I don't think there was much more in the team than finishing third last season," he said. "My pride came from maximising potential. Like when we won the Premier League with zero defeats, which never anybody else has done, you can think there is not much room to do much better.

"At the end of the season, I want to stand in front of my mirror and think, 'could you have done more?' I would like to think I have done all I can."

That was his interview that was published in The Sun.

From his anger after the Aston Villa game he has now changed tack and has gone all concilitiary and reflective.

The quote that made me laugh was when he said that he tries his utmost and asks for nothing in return. Nothing :howler: There are 7 million reasons why that is slightly misleading from him.

In September last year this man said the current squad was the best he'd ever had and he wanted to go for every single trophy... Now he's saying the most that team could have challenged for was third.

Get him out of our club!!!

Wenger's low expectations and no ambition mentality is ridiculous:

"overall to come away from here with a point you need something special spirit-wise and we have shown that"

You need something special spirit-wise to win against Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan... Not to get a point against Everton?! What's happened to this club FFS!!

Won 5 out of 14. Nearly 1 every 3. It is awful.

Another season of hoping for top 4 and going out in last 16 of CL.

Right now I have to say I'd be happy for top 4 and winning capital cup. That's what has happened to us.

Anyway like last year I fear for top 4 this time around. Last year we went on an awesome run, but Van-Persie less this time can we do the same? I think it will be a true fight unless Rafa does us a favour at Chelsea.

Norwich came there with a point three days ago, so nothing special whatsoever is required. Stop deluding fans Arsene.
