John scored the only goal in Trinidads 1-0 win over Panama.

Love the 3rd one down, player putting in a high challenge, big grimace one Holmsey's face and you can see an Ambulance in the background....made me chuckle anyway..

Lee Camp, Lee Holmes and Lewin Nyatanga are all expected to be in international action tonight.

Camp could get the nod to start for England Under-21s for their clash against Poland at Hillsbrough, for Peter Taylor's side's final qualifying game of the European Championships.

Holmes, who shone during England's 2-0 win over host nation Poland A in the UEFA Friendly Under-19 Tournament at the weekend, should be in action again against Poland B in Pniewy.

Nyatanga could figure for the Wales Under-21 squad when they take on Azerbaijan in Newport in their final qualifying game

Another good performances from all our young players in international competetion. Does it beg the question, that we should be giving our young guns a chance in the first team?

When we have a full squad, I wouldn't play Holmes ahead of Smith, or Nyatanga ahead of Richard Jackson, if he can play right back get him in ahead of Kenna, but not Edworthy if he is back to full fitness.

Not surprised, I've said before I don't think he will play again. Which is a shame.

Peter Whittingham played the full 90 minutes at left back for England u21's as they beat Poland 4-1. I doesn't say much for out young left backs, as he's a far better midfielder than defender, where he doesn't look very comfortable at times.

Lee Camp was once again an unused substitute.

Lewin Nyatanga played for Wales under 21's (or England reserves as him and Dan Martin a former Ram now at Notts County both play and are both English) as they beat Azerbaijan 3-0.

Just read this on the derby website...

Back in Europe, centre-half Konjic returned to action for Bosnia-Herzegovina with an impressive performance in their 3-0 victory over San Marino on Saturday.

They must of made a balls up as Manijak says he's left the squad, and I'm he's got that right.

ummm..if he played, nobody knows about it.

I believe Uefa or one of the sites made a mistake on that. (but adding in "with an impressive performance" thats weird)

The latest update :howler:

Konjic, who played in Bosnia's own victory over San Marino on Saturday, was not involved in the matchday squad last night.

I wonder when they will realise he didn't play, probably when they speak to Konjic, and he tells them he didn't play, mind you if they mention a impressive performance, he might play along :D

Stern John scored twice, and missed a penalty, as Trinidad and Tobago beat Mexico 2-1, to get them a place in a play off, if they beat Bahrain, Stern could be on his way to the world cup. Out of all the good players at our club, he could be going to the world cup :eekani:

And he's now our inform striker ;) wonder if Brown will start him.

Three of Derby County's rising young stars have been selected for England duty.

There is a first call for 17-year-old midfielder Giles Barnes to the England U18 setup for their friendly in Turkey, on Tuesday November 15.

Barnes, who signed his first professional contract just days before the start of the current season, has progressed from the club's Academy to being involved with the first team.

He made his debut as a late substitute in the Carling Cup game against Grimsby Town, and followed that up with a first Championship appearance as a second-half replacement at Crewe Alexandra.

Winger Lee Holmes is in the England U19 squad for their international friendly against Switzerland, on Wednesday November 16 at Wycombe Wanderers' Causeway Stadium.

Holmes, 18, has put in a number of outstanding peformances for Martin Hunter's side in recent games and was part of the side that was beaten in the final of July's European U19 Championship.

Completing the trio is 15-year-old Matt Richards, who is in the England U17 squad for a friendly tournament in Luxembourg.

Midfielder Richards already has four U17 caps to his name and will be hoping to add to that tally against the hosts on October 31, and France on November 2.
