Kevin Kuranyi- Brazilian/Panama/Hungarian
Paolo Rink- Brazilian
Gerard Asamoah- Ghana
Sean Dundee- South Africa
Darius Wosz -Polish
Pierre Litbarski- Polish
Mehmet Scholl- Turkish
Jens Nowotny- Czech
Fredi Bobic- Slovenian
Oliver Neuville- Swiss and Italian

Scholl is half-turkish. His father was a turk, but since he left Scholl and his mother very early Mehmet was adopted by Mr. Scholl and also got his surname from him. His mother is german.

Neuville and Kuranyi also have a german parent.

Inversely you could also say players like serhat the altintops, and berkant are actually germans who play for turkey

I heard and read so. Can't confirm it 100% but I wouldn't be surprised.

I also would like to add that Frenchmen like Henry, Thuram and Karembeu are technically french, cause they were born on French Territory, if you want to count Colonies that is ;)
Paris is generally considered French territory. ;)

Apologies for shĂŻtting on your thread last night, I was in a very bad mood.

No prob.

Arsene Wenger- German

Andrei Kanchelskis is of Lithuanian origin but has Ukrainian and Russian citizenship. Also former USSR NT, Dynamo Kiev player and coach, Joszef Szabo is Hungarian. As well as Mutian who is of Romanian ancestry but played for DK and the Soviet Union.

And i remember reading on UEFA.com that Greece's player of the centruy was born in the Soviet Union and lived there for the first two decades or so of his life and had Soivet citizenship.

Russia (Current and Past)

Andrey Karyaka (Ukrainian)
Sergei Ignashevitch (Belarussian)
Sergei Semak (Ukrainian)
Alex Onopko (Ukrainian)
Oleg Salenko (Ukrainian)
Euvgeni Aldonin (From Ukraine but ethnic Russian)
Valery Karpin (From Estonia but ethnic Russian) (obviously)

Ukraine
Aliev ( Russian)
Milevsky (Belarussian)

Of course Russia and Ukraine both have players playing for them who were raised in Russia or Ukraine but are either full or part ethnic Russian or Ukrainian, like Voronin, Rebrov, Pavlyuchenko, Gusin, Gusev, Kirichenko, etc, etc.

Also 90% of Latvia's nt is ethnic Russian, and 25% of Estonia's NT is ethnic Russian, as well as many Russians or Ukrainians in the Kazakh and Uzbek sides.

I thought Aliev was half Ukrainian and half Belorussian. Correct me if im wrong.

:eekani:

His team are ill-disciplined (unlike Germans), bad at defending (unlike Germans), entertaining to watch (unlike Germans), score plenty of goals (unlike Germans) and choke in the knock-out games of quality (unlike Germans)

This is one person who Germany cannot be proud of.

Just foreign heritage? Okay.

Australia

John Aloisi - Italian
Ross Aloisi - Italian
Mark Viduka - Croatian
Marco Bresciano - Italian
Tim Cahill - Samoan
Vince Grella - Italian
Stan Lazaradis - Greek
Mark Schwarzer - German(?)
Zeljko Kalac - Croatian
Harry Kewell - English (I think he qualifies for citizenship)
Craig Moore - Scottish (citizenship)

That's just some. It's pretty hard to name many actual "Aussie" players in the national team, most of them are either second generation ethnic migrants or were born in Europe anyway.

Joey Didulica - Australian
Josep Simunic - Australian
you missed a few ;)

Australia
Alex Brosque - Uruguay
Frank Juric - Croatia
Carl Valeri - Italy
Jess Kendwell van Strattan - Holland
Eddie Bosnar - Croatia
Spase Dilevski - Macedonia
Tim Cahill - Ireland
Lucas Neill - Ireland
Danny Tiatto - Italy
Tony Vidmar - Italy

Croatia
Anthony Seric - Australia
Josip Simunic - Australia

Serbia & Montenegro
Ivan Ergic - Australia

Argentina
Adrian Caceres - Australia

and yes Mark Schwarzer has German heritage.

Hatzipanakis was born in the USSR but he is 100% Greek.
Papadopoulos was born in Khazakstan but is 100% Greek and playes for Greece.
Um Vyntra i think is Czech but plays for the Greek NT (Sadly). He lived in Greece i think all his life.
Nickolaidis was born in Germany but lived in Greece almost all his life and played for Greece. He is 100% Greek.
Baptista played for Greece but he was not Greek. Joined the army & got citizenship.
etc etc etc.

I duno Krupa, i've heard that Aliev is full Russian, then i've heard he's half Uke and half Russian. All i know for sure is that he was born and raised in Russia and learned his trade there. I think both Milevsky and Aliev only rescentley were granted Ukrainian citizenship. Also, Oleg Blokhin was Rusisan on his father's side.
