The sceptic will say it's a ploy after the British media's assault on the Spanish for recent racial chants. In all honesty 'monkey' isn't a racist term used by the English when referring to black people (well not where I'm from at least - similar but not the same) unless this particular steward made a point of using it (the word 'monkey') after the many articles after the NT match.

Are Barca reporting it?

Very enlightening information - but that steward can go call his best friend or neighbor a monkey, if thats a norm in England. Why he would use the term on Eto'o--a player he has no personal relations with and who has just lost an important match--is beyond me and is not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination.

If he did say monkey, then it is 100% a racial slur towards a black person. My point is that it must be in some way related to recent happenings (maybe the idiot thought he was being clever).

Rumours!

I heard that Chelseas assistant manager went up to the Barca bench and said something along the lines of "hahaha you arrogant $£%%$" and that made them angry. Also a few players lost there feet on the stairs down to the changing rooms due to the havoc.

Not surprising. Especially when the manager of their team is the biggest representative of the scumbucket.

Scum of the earth.

You know he wasn't very popular in Portugal either.

One positive in my opinion (and forgive me, not related to Barca) it's interesting for a young dynamic egoist to come between Wenger and Ferguson.

Perhaps temporarily. Whether he likes it or not, the time will come when Mourinho will lose. He has already shown us that he has utter lack of character and class when that happens, and it will be a sight I will wallow in. Again, scum of the earth.

Eto is well known for being a twat .. he seems to spend a great deal of time
denegrating other players teams and even his own coach in the most rude arrogent manner possible .. ( who can forget the recent f**K off , dont f**k with me outburst to Rijjkard ) its not really too had to beleive that he might not be telling the truth about this incident .. and was frustrated taht hed made himslef look like a bit of a fool (missing some gilt edged chances) after promising all manner of things that he was personally going to do to Chelsea ...

the guy is a very unpleasent person .. despite being an ok footballer ..

What are you talking about?

He's talking Shit. Not surprising though, lots of these types around.

Eto'o has NO reason to lie, NONE whatsoever. He ISN'T known for causing trouble. Saying someone called him a monkey isn't going to change the football, it's not like he said "Some guy called me a monkey, I want the game replayed". And Chelsea say they are sure it didn't happen, because they interviewed the guy involved. :howler: :howler: :howler: :howler:

Sure hes going to say "Yes, I called him a monkey". You just need to look at all the chumps manhandling Ronaldinho to look at the kind of staff they hire there. :frustrat:

Funny, I wonder what the same English press that is scared of the racism in Spain is going to say now. I am still waiting to hear the president of the English FA asking for a fine to Chelsea.

I'd like to hear people saying that England should be banned from European competitions and World Cups. I want to hear them saying that they should close Stamford Bridge. I want to hear them saying that Abrahmovic should sack Mourinho and his people for being racists.

It's always the same story, double standard is everywhere. No, this time I won't hear any English poster making a big deal of it, but the opposite.

Moreover, 9 Chelsea fans were arrested in Barcelona for hooliganism and, obviously, Sky and the rest of the English media didn't say anything.

I knew that the racism issue was like a boomerang. The English media throw the boomerang and it finishes in their own face...

I agree. This is a double standard. Chelsea simply states, "No we do not accept this happened. Are staff are not racist". And that's end of discussion for them. Shouldn't this be investigated just like the incidents in Spain? Oh i guess it takes a reporter to catch it on tape for it to be taken seriously.

Monkey is a racist term if directed against a black person in England. There is no other reason why one person would call another a monkey (unless they were very hairy!).

It would not surprise me if the allegations against the Chelsea stewards are true. Chelsea have a reputation as one of the most violent and racist clubs in England.

If any of you believe this Chelsea steward racist remark your idiots.

80% of Chelsea stewards are black in any case.

Any how would Eto'o understand when his understanding of the English language is zilch?

It's also slightly less worse than when you decided to monkey chant Roberto Carlos in the La Liga game.

No ... you would be the idiot for so quickly dismissing it. So your positive that 20% of the other stewards who aren't black could in no possible way make such a comment. Boy, must be amazing to live in London where racism does not and cannot exist. I would love to ask an Indian person in London if they have the same opinion. Open your eyes mate, racism exists every where. At the very least it should be investigated and not so quickly dismissed as Chelsea has done. And how is it slightly worse than the chants to Roberto Carlos?!? If it's true, it's just as bad.

You must be really naive to believe that just because 80% of the stewards are "black", there will not be any racism at Stamford Bridge. All it takes is one knucklehead among the tens of thousands, be it in London or in the Camp Nou. It's a problem, you can't just sweep it under the carpet just because it happened at your favorite club's ground.

Do you know Sameul personally? Maybe all he knows in English is the word "monkey". Give me a break, don't draw such stupid conclusions from your own ignorance.

First off the bias you talk about is true, theres no doubting it and it is annoying but what can you do. I do find it annoying though tat all the British coverage seems to go on about how exciting and interesting Morinho is because he always says something outrageous. Rather than actually analysing the attrocious way he behaves they just go on about how interesting he is.

I personally amn't sure about the Eto'o thing, to me he seems like a great player and a nice guy who maybe likes to run his mouth a bit and I wonder if he only claimed what he did in the heat of the situation. If not then its a disgrace but I do wonder.

The thing that I find funny is that overall I think Chelsea end up losing out because of the game. Over the two legs Morinho was disrespectful, lied, called another manager a liar and had one his cronies wind up Rijkaard after winning (not even graceful in victory). I kinda get the feeling that the Chelsea brand may end up being very badly tarnished by this.
