Well I'd thought different since they'd be the only bidders for it so the American promoters and channels couldn't ask too much. Also TV stations from Norway, Eastern Europe and SE Asia have boxing rights and they can't have a lot more money than the NOS, but yeah it is true, boxing promoters can ask rediculous ammounts of money.

Ernesto is my 'plaatsgenoot'. Actually, his parent live 2 minutes walking from where I live. :nervous: Nah, friends of mine have met him in the supermarket once here, and he is a really nice guy. :cap:

Anyway, this week in Vrij Nederland there is an article about Regillio Vrede. Don't ask me why there is an articlo about Vrede in VN, but ok. I read it and it is pretty interesting actually to see how his career never really took off. First he missed a transfer to Feyenoord or West Ham, because his manager didn't tell him about the interest of these two teams and he made him sign for Roda. Then when he was at his top at Roda, he couldn't go to Ajax because Nol Hendriks asked 12 million for him. Of course there was also the talk about he got screwed over by Paul Matthijs at Groningen and a very surprising story about how Nicky Hofs (not the smartest fella around I know) said to him on the pitch: Je moet je bek houden, vuile teringaap. After that Hofs got lucky that his teammates protected him. Imagine an angry Vrede (2 meters) storming at you. :scared:

Interesting article nonetheless on one of the most unlucky players.

Interesting stuff. Always thought too that Vrede played too low for his level, since lets be honest, if Uli van Gobbel or Andre Ooijer can play for top clubs for years, then Vrede certainly would have at least deserved a shot.

About Hoost. Shame he isn't recognized here. Sounds like a great guy. I also heard Ono once said that Ernesto's more well known in Japan than Gullit!

'Het Studio-Ajax gevoel' dat bij veel fans van andere clubs diep van binnen blijkt te zitten (Studio Sport zou een voorkeur hebben voor Ajax) blijkt ook bij menig voetbalbestuurder een issue. Voorzitter Riemer van der Velde liet bij Omrop Fryslân weten dat dat een rol had gespeeld bij de gunning van de voetbalrechten aan John de Mol, zo bericht AbeLenstra.com. "Ajax en de NOS zijn zo'n beetje hetzelfde. Van Studio Ajax werden we zo langzamerhand ook wel eens moe" zo zou de voorzitter van Heerenveen hebben gemeld.

Dochter voor K3-zangeres Kristel
Kristel Verbeke, de 29-jarige zwartharige zangeres van de Belgische meidengroep K3, is gistermiddag bevallen van een dochter, Nanou Thomas. Moeder en kind maken het zeer goed.

Dat heeft Studio 100, de Belgische producent die K3 en kinderprogramma's als Kabouterplop en Piet Piraat onder de hoede heeft, zaterdag laten weten.

Nanou weegt 3.480 kilogram en is 51 centimeter lang. Nanou is het eerste kindje voor Kristel en Gene Thomas, die in juni 2003 in het huwelijksbootje stapten.

De twee kozen zeer bewust voor het ouderschap en zijn heel gelukkig dat hun kinderwens nu in vervulling is gegaan. De zwangerschap verliep zonder problemen. Ook tijdens de bevalling is alles goed gegaan.
