Milan Channel says Inzaghi will play 4-3-3 next season. What do you guys think will happen to Honda if that is true? Will we sell him or move him to midfield?
He'll play one of the midfield roles. De Jong will probably be sold if Man Utd offers 15 million euros.

honda sud be our 12th man I wud rather see birsa , muntari , noce in midfield rather than honda stumbling n being outrun by 38 yr grandpa totti. watched japan thought they were beyond woeful maybe thy sud make robot play instead of themselves

I wud have sold de jong for 15m if monty was fit

You would have sold De Jong for 15 million if Montolivo was fit? And who would you replace De Jong with? That idea would leave us hopelessly shortchanged in midfield.

And your ideas on Honda are interesting, but wrong. Honda was one of Japan's better players and had a goal and assist, and was involved in much of their attacking play. Nobody could help Japan's cruddy defense though. Zaccheroni failed miserably in inspiring the team. And when Colombia played against Japan, it was all over for them.

And even bringing up Nocerino, Birsa or Muntari in this argument invalidates your point even further. Sorry.

de jong is 29 yrs old n as good as he has at most 2-3 season in top level as his play depends on physicality which will degrade eventually
n adding 6m frm terminating essien's contract plus 6m from de jong's salary plus hypothetical 15m transfer fee sud be 27 m i.e. enough for 2 top quality midfielders upgrade

Their defence suffered becoz of their midfielders n defenders not being
quick enough to track back .
Same is case for honda even if he has good vision n shots he doesnt has legs n physicality enough to track back , can be easily dispossessed . That becomes a liablity in top class match.he wud be a failure in midfield n as a winger , I just see him as a bench material that wud be used when we need to fall back for 4-3-1-2.
I thnk he wud be used against low positioned teams where game is played in slow paced .

Even in his assist u can see that his speed is quite woeful n requires quite a lot of time which he wudnt be given against good teams.
The japanish team was a joke look how easily ivory costa team manhandled them n greece played with 10 man for last 60 min was never threatened

Van Bommel played well into his mid 30s and effectively too. So that's not a good call to make. You can't sell De Jong and have NO ONE to replace him with. And no, Montolivo is NOT a replacement for De Jong because Montolivo is ALSO 29.

There is a lack of GOOD DMFs on the market, and you don't sell the only good one we have. We need to get sell/rescind the contracts of other players in the team, before we think about selling De Jong.

So if you don't have an idea for a replacement, best to support keeping De Jong.

No. I don't agree with this at all. If you watched Japan, you can see he did track back. And he didn't have the pace, because he didn't play with consistency the prior season. I did see him track back for Japan. Japan's defensive fragilities don't have anything to do with Honda though. That goes back on their defenders. So I think you're quite mistaken.

No. His speed looks find to me, and not woeful. Don't really know what you saw or if you were watching the right player. The Japanese team was woeful. But again that's not down to Honda, who was one of their better players.

:eekani::eekani:

WE both know his speed is not enough n he was dispossesed at rate 2.7 per match playing against colombia B team , ivory costa n greece with 10 men than how cud he be adjusted in serie-a as a midfielder n winger .

You seem to post figures that don't really add up. A rate of 2.7 per match? Pulled out of thin air it seems. He was one of Japan's better performers, and still did pretty well. His speed is enough. And it's not like the Serie A is known for its speedy play anyways. His speed was enough for CSKA and that league has fast players. So your point is pretty void.

I love it when someone posts they want Honda gone, and also De Jong... but don't have the slightest idea on WHOM to replace them with.

no one is required to replace honda with when he is not even starter

check out honda's statistics n u will find his records n that aside japanish team was built around him n him being played in his preffered pos , well rested n playing against small teams n still he was unimpressive . for me he is just overrated n even playing in serie-a requires speed n physicality that he lacks . lets see in coming season whether he proves something or not.

This isn't true at all. You are just exaggerating greatly about a player you inherently don't like and probably haven't seen much of. And Japanish? You mean Japanese. Honda started to do well for Milan prior to having an injury, and he was out of form. And no, playing in the Serie A does not require speed. Maybe physicality to an extent, but not speed.

Did you guys ever hear about this?

The article kinda points towards Fukushima, the theorist in me points to them damn Russians:mad:

"Style is something that defines my life philosophy and personality."
"My life philosophy? Seriousness, the ability to chase your dreams, and pursuing every opportunity."
"Ever since I was a kid, I have been working on building a strong identity - even when when it comes to my looks."
"I have never had problems due to the way that people judge me on my dyed blond hair."
"The kids in my country really love my blond hair. They think that it's my natural hair color."
"Why I felt the need to stand out? Because of the education I received from my father."
"My father always told me: 'if you do something, then you have to be number 1'."
"My father also said: 'you don't have to play football, but if you do, then you have to be number 1'."
"As a kid, I didn't exactly understand what my father mean, but I dud understand that I had to give everything in order to excel."
"And as a kid, I was thinking: how can I become number 1? The answer is that I could do that by standing out." -->
"And that's why I immediately created a strong and precise personality."
"Many kid, and also professional players, don't like the heavy physical work. I forced myself to like even the hardest exercises."
"It’s true that I train before and after the training at Milanello, but I don’t do any hard exercises. It's just a habit."
"I love my parents and the way in which they have educated me."
"I have always thought that I should give something back to my parents for all that they have given me."
"I will try to educate my son Sojiro in the same way that I was educated. But he hasn't even turned 2 yet, so it's too soon."
"If bullying exists in Japan? Yes, of course. I have been bullied many times."
"If my son gets bullied one day, then I will tell him that he has 3 choices: ignore, talk or react. He will decide what to do."
"I want to people to know who I am based on facts; by the effort I put in during training session and my behavior on the pitch."
"The biggest problem that I have faced in Italy? The aggressiveness of the journalists."
"If I go into a restaurant or a store, then there are always journalists present." -->
--> "It doesn’t bother me, but it bothers my family. My wife and son aren’t footballers, singers or famous actors. They are just Japanese."
"I don't do any shopping in Milano. I have been in Tod's once, but only because Galliani took me there."
"I have a stylist in Japan, who advises me on the right clothes to wear."
"I always tell my teammates that every one of us has his own style, and that it should be respected."
"But we should have one thing in common: the correct behavior off and on the pitch."
"We must always remember those that are watching us, especially kids. We are role models for them."
"Japanese people are very disciplined and strict, but not very bold. Italians are impatient, but brilliant."
"Italians have great ideas that lead to great products: pasta, pizza, Ferrari, D&G. The ideal would be a Italian-Japanese mix."

What do you guys think about Honda so far? My main problem is that I'm not sure what is his best use for us. So far, he excelled only early this season as a RW/inside forward, when he had that run of goals.

Surely his better role is at AMC, behind a forward. But he doesn't seem really creative, or fast and physical, or direct in dribbling, or even eager to take responsibility as he disappears from games often and doesn't try anything risky... In fact he doesn't really seem to have anything other than good technique, especially when hitting the ball (and I imagine selling shirts), so perhaps he should do it more often and those deficiencies make it unlikely, and even more so if we play two forwards and one AMC. Still, unless he starts scoringI for one would like to see him sometimes in a traditional LW role, either in a 3-men attack or even in Beckham-style traditional winger role. I'd like to see him cross and shoot from there.

I've also read that brick and others here believe he should be tried as a CM more. I thought he could do that before he was signed, and we sure could use someone like that, but at Milan I haven't seen any sign of him being capable of being a creative central midfielder. Perhaps a goalscoring type, but he also seems quite lethargic...

I do think he deserves at least one more year, but he needs to improve, and for that the next manager needs to find his best role.

if we can lower kondogbia's price by including honda, im all for it.

I was expecting much much more from Honda. And for me he has been a disappointment.

Maybe his injury affected him, or maybe he cant make it in the big leagues.

I would sell him or include as part of some deals.
