Losing Suarez is more than those 6 games mate, it will send a bad message to our fanbase and our players and maybe future players that we are not an attractive club to stars players any more. We ll be the new Everton.
understand your point, but the fact is that even top teams sometimes struggle to keep their top players, Cr7/Real, Rooney/Utd, Lewandowski/Dortmund, Tevez/City just off the top of my head. Sometimes it happens that players are lured away by bigger money/lack of motivation/whatever. Tells something about club´s ambitions but also about player´s character.

Liverpool fanbase should be more worried about club´s ambitions so far we are keeping the likes of Downing, Assaidi, Spearing etc.

Everybody knows we want rid though. Liverpool accepted a bid from West Ham for Downing but he decided to reject it. Don't think he's had much preseason time which tells us how important Brendan considers him.

Bolton are apparently very interested in Spearing and Assaidi's been linked with a few clubs abroad. Can't see any of the 3 being at the club by the end of the window.

What a disgusting attitude. Pathetic.

We might have finished mid table but it doesn't mean that's what we should accept. Thank the Lord that your unambitious attitude isn't shared by the club.
What about accepting reality for a change? You just cannot assume that players want to come LFC just because of the name.

And thank god that growing numbers are realizing it including the manager. You don't want to admit it but yet its running away from some harsh reality. And mind you, that doesn't mean low ambition. We will try our best to improve but yet we need to realize the tough challenges. Stop living in the past .

No one is assuming that.

But if you do need to rethink your own reality if you think we should just lay down and die (which is what you're suggesting by accepting Suarez should leave when we hold all the cards ) because we've finished midtable for a few season.

Liverpool aren't as attractive as we once were. Only a deluded Liverpool fan would think otherwise which is why it's even more important we hold on to a player that can help us get out of the hole we're in. We shouldn't just "accept reality" and sell him off to our closest rivals for 4th.

Who says we should sell Suarez? The thing is Suarez is just one example, there has been plenty of players gone and plenty will eventually leave if our current situation remains. It is all a cause and effect relationship and about time, it is admitted instead of being surprised and begging for players to stay.

On Suarez, the club should not sell him as he is a key player. But it is also important to remember in modern football, players have greater power, even more than club itself at times. If the players wants to leave, there is nothing we can do as "eventually" he will leave. Might not be this window but the next. And if anything, seeing Suarez fickle behavior + unnecessary controversies/interviews, there is a growing number of LFC fans who want him out. Maybe not to Arsenal, but as mentioned above, the player has the power.

If we manage to get Costa, that would mean we'd be grabbing one of the best players from the third biggest club in Spain, and a club that is also playing in the CL. We haven't fallen as far as to truly be a mid table team. You don't fill a 95k stadium in Australia if you are a mid table team.

You pretty much scorned the idea of Suarez staying when Alter Ego suggested we need to keep him. Apparently we're too shit and midtable to keep him.

What power does Suarez have? He's got 3 years remaining in his contract, he can't really go on strike because he's banned for 6 games which means he won't be playing until October and would pretty much negate any impact going strike would make, Liverpool can reject any transfer requests he makes, hell even if he doesn't have half of the impact he had last season, it would still be better for Liverpool than selling him to Arsenal and strengthening them. I don't think there's a transfer in Liverpool's history where Liverpool have held stronger cards than the cards we have now. We don't need to sell Suarez and there is nothing other than a crazy bid that can make us sell him. Suarez will leave eventually but on our terms. No one thinks he's going to do live happily ever after at Liverpool.

We're a midtable team but not a midtable club. I think a lot of Liverpool fans are confusing the two.

first Cole, than Carroll, now Downing ? Allardyce is legend.

I can see Downing leave Liverpool only if Woy somehow fooled him to get a first team action elsewhere so he can consider him for Brasil 2014.

Assaidi probably ends up in Feyenoord, good luck to him. Spearing is still young so he might want to prove something in football and Bolton would be just fine for him.

I can see Assaidi and Spearing go, but Downing no way :(

Heh, imagine Downing, Spearing And Assaidi out for 10m combined, while Costa, Papa and Siqueira in for 35m combined. Together with all the deals we've already made and best summer ever if Suarez stays.

Yes, the truth can be boring sometimes ...
Yeah, because Steward Downing is such an integral part of our team with whose amazing experience we cannot live without.

By the way, here is another proof of our fall from grace:

"Liverpool target Diego Costa says he is happy at Atletico Madrid"

Sure, I can do this all day long:

I'm officially putting you on my 'trolls' list.
