After a very promising game against Denmark, Türkiye will be going with a good spirit to Ukraine trying to gurantee the runner's up position.

Terim who used a very succesful formula against Ukraine wants to expand this formula of his over the entire line up:

His expected line up:

--------------------Rüstü--------------------

Fatih Akyel-----Alpay------Bülent-----Abdullah

--------------------Tugay--------------------

Hasan---------------Emre----------------Ergün

-------------Saban-----------Arif--------------

Players such as Tuncay, Ibrahim Toroman, Halil, Hamit, Serhat, Serkan, Volkan, Necati, Selcuk, servet etc havent perfomred well since their days in the U21 team and thus no longer has anything to do in the Turkish NT.

-------------Volkan---------------

I'd prefer Halil before serhat because he is on roll.....but i dont understand why you are leaving selcuk out of the squad and tümer as well. Selcuk had a very good game and Tümer was godd in the second half. Gökdeniz is playing very average these days....he shouldnt be playing imo!

But i dont see Terim benching hakan against ukraone....as i said....terim dont want the media against him like Ersun hoca!

well i think Tumer more or less showed himself more in the 2nd half, but he was lost in the first half. we need players that will play consistantly for at least 70 min imo.

I don't like Selcuk, he had some very bad touches in the game, and has the odd Very Very badly timed tackle.

Gokdeniz plays different on the national team i think than in his club, but most players are like that. We need some speed in the midfield for the next game, and I believe Gokdeniz will assist that need.

Serhat is on a roll as well, he has 4 Goals in 5 games (league and CL Qualifying), but Halil did score a hat trick, its really a coin toss between the two. But you're right, Saban will 95% play, which is unfortunate cause he did very minimal things in the Denmark game, like bring the high airballs down with his head. But failed to do the important things right, like the breakaway at the first half, in my experiance, players should be somewhat punished for missing such easy gift chances like that, like only playing a few minutes the next game...... but i'm not here to start an arguement.

No idea about defence, other than Volkan in goal and Ibrahim at the heart of it all, but this is the midfield and attack I'd like to see..
Code:
        Fatih Halil

  Tümer Yildiray Okan

            Selçuk
Anyway, we're lucky that they've qualified and that they'll probably rest most of their line-up, because if they came out full strength (in terms of personnel and mentality), the way we are now I'm sure they'd have spanked us..

Really, if we don't win this one, we don't belong within 1,000km's of the World Cup..

Gooo Turkiye. I have full faith in Fatih Terim and his assistants. Yesterday was a great match and I'm sure the players will give everything against Ukrayne and Albania like they did against Denmark. But please stay awake during the last minutes. It hurts my heart to lose in the way we did.

If Fatih Tekke doesn't play we will have a 100% faster forward.
The reff run more than Tekke.
I hope something else will play for "kazik" Ümit!
He has "0" technique, "0" left-food ability!
It could be Serkan, Fatih Akyel, however........
I cant understand why Terim let them play?

I hope this players will be in the midfield Okan, Selcuk, Tümer, Hasan.

The best idea of Terim was, to select great young players like Selcuk and Volkan. I think Volkan is now the best keeper in Turkey!

I'd rather have Tekke play than Hakan Sukur. And Tekke didn't run? As if Hakan did. He ran for like 5 minutes and was sweating like a pig :howler:

I think there's something wrong with the way you watched the match kardes. I was delighted about Tekke although he didn't score. He was everywhere and fought really well. He has great skill.

I must say how pleasant it is just to be a believer and leave the tactics to Terim. Just watching games and not discussing how and who Terim should play is delightful, simple and refreshing. Ofcourse I was angry afterwards and I vented my anger but then I had no choice but to acknowledge we did what we could do and it pleased me.

I don't pretend to be an expert on tactics or player judgement. We all saw what mistakes were made on the field and nobody has the right to say 'I told you so' afterwards because it's one cowardly way of distancing yourself from the team. If the players thought the same way this team would collapse very fast.

We all know what has happened and we have to allow our footballing staff to learn from their mistakes so they can grow into a unit. The only reason I believe this can happen is not because Terim is a former GS man, but it's because he has done a great job before (by chance it was with GS but it could be any other team) so why not again? Ersun Yanal or any other might do a great job as well but we're not in charge of the football team so we don't get to decide who does the job.(Who would have thought Senol Gunes would reach 3rd place in the last WC) If you don't agree with the politics of decisionmaking than go in to politics and change it. We don't need idealists who curse the world. We need people who follow up on that ideal and make the changes necessary.

Thank you for your attention.

Terims words after a press conference yesterday night:

"I'm no magician.....what can i do with this team in three games"

What a tragedy....:D

adama sormazlar'mi.....neden bu göreve üstlendin ozaman?!

hey guys just a qiuck question:

could I get a list of the players actually making the trip to Kyiv?

And preferably sorted by positions and the clubs they play for.

e.g:

Georgia

Goalkeepers:
Zviad Sturua (FC Dinamo Tbilisi)
Georgi Lomaia (FC Khimki).
Defenders:
Zurab Khizanishvili (Rangers FC)
Kakha Kaladze (AC Milan)
Levan Kobiashvili (FC Schalke 04)
Levan Salukvadze (FC Rubin Kazan)
Kakhaber Chkhetiani (FC Zestafoni)
Zurab Menteshashvili (Skonto FC)
Malkhaz Asatiani (FC Lokomotiv Moskva)

Midfielders:
Levan Tskitishvili (VfL Wolfsburg)
Kakhaber Aladashvili (FC Dinamo Tbilisi)
Djaba Kankava (FC Alania Vladikavkaz)
Goga Gakhokidze (FC Twente)
Georgi Ganugrava (FC Zestafoni)
David Odikadze (FC Dinamo Tbilisi)
Gogita Gogua (FC Khimki)

Forwards:
David Mujiri (SK Sturm Graz)
Aleksandr Iashvili (SC Freiburg)
Georgi Demetradze (FC Alania Vladikavkaz)
Mikheil Ashvetia (FC Rostov)

So pretty much like that ^. It would be very much appreciated. Btw- I think I've mentioned it before that I want to see Turkey there next year; so all the best. I think a draw will occur in Kyiv however.

Thanks in advance.

This was his squad selected for both games.. Emre is injured, but is still with the squad, he didn't replace him for whatever reason..

Volkan Demirel (Fenerbahce)
Orkun Uşak (Ankaragücü)
Özden Öngün (Konyaspor)

Ümit Özat (Fenerbahce)
Deniz Barış (Fenerbahce)
İbrahim Toraman (Besiktas)
Gökhan Zan (Besiktas)
Koray Avcı (Besiktas)
Fatih Akyel (PAOK Selanik)
Alpay Özalan (FC Köln)
Tolga Seyhan (Shaktar Donetsk)

Selçuk Şahin (Fenerbahce)
Serkan Balcı (Fenerbahce)
Tümer Metin (Besiktas)
Okan Buruk (Besiktas)
Hüseyin Cimşir (Trabzonspor)
Gökdeniz Karadeniz (Trabzonspor)
Ergün Penbe (Galatasaray)
Hasan Şaş (Galatasaray)
Hamit Altıntop (FC Schalke 04)
Emre Belözoğlu (Newcastle United)
Yıldıray Baştürk (Hertha BSC Berlin)

Hakan Şükür (Galatasaray)
Fatih Tekke (Trabzonspor)
Halil Altıntop (FC Kaiserslautern)
Serhat Akın (RSC Anderlecht)

How about you guys, I'm sure you're not going to play with a bunch of Georgians?! :D
Do you think you'll want to celebrate in style, or celebrate Fenerbahçe-style?

* To celebrate Fenerbahçe style is to play an exhibition match with huge smiles for 90 minutes, and then lose 4-2 :D

Thanks alot for that! Your my hero, hehe...you guys look very impressive on paper.

Ahh..what you have to understand is that one BIG important thing has changed about Ukraine since Blokhin has taken over. The coach has brought a great mental edge to the team, its just to fight for every ball and there is a winning metality instilled in the players, something we didn't have before.
Blokhin could experiment a little, but dont expect a 'friendly'. Blokhin is very stubborn and just does not accept failure, his mentality is just the same as when he was a player.

1:1 I think is a fair result to predict...

our team looks like this:

Ukraine

Goalkeepers:
Olexandr Shovkovsky (Dynamo Kyiv)
Maxym Startsev (Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih)

Defenders:
Andriy Nesmachny (Dynamo Kyiv)
Serhiy Fedorov (Dynamo Kyiv)
Vladyslav Vaschuk (Dynamo Kyiv)
Olexandr Radchenko (Dnipro D)
Volodymyr Yezersky (Dnipro D)
Andriy Rusol (Dnipro D)
Viacheslav Shevchuk (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Midfielders:
Sergei Nazarenko (Dnipro D)
Olexandr Rykun (Dnipro D)
Oleg Shelaiev (Dnipro D)
Oleg Husiev (Dynamo Kyiv)
Ruslan Rotan (Dynamo Kyiv)
Andriy Husin (Krylya Sovetov)
Anatoliy Tymoschuk (Shakhtar Donetsk)
Sergei Shyschenko (Metalurh Donetsk)

Forwards:
Andriy Shevchenko (Milan, Italy)
Andriy Voronin (Bayer Leverkusen)
Olexiy Belyk (Shakhtar Donetsk)
Oleg Venhlynsky (AEK Athens)
Sergei Rebrov (Dynamo Kyiv)

Oleg Husiev returns after serving out his suspension. Which is good news for us: one of the key players-plays on right wing. Young pacey guy- I'd like to see him shoot a bit more though.

Shakhtar foward Andriy Vorobei is still injured. Which is a good thing because he is extremely over-rated. His partner Olexiy Belyk is a better, faster and younger version of him. Needs to be more physical though. I think this will be our line up, as long as Blokhin doesn't field a b-team (which I dont think he will):

---------------Shovkovsky

Rusol-----Yezersky----Fedorov-----Nesmachny

----------------Tymoschuk
Husiev----------------------------------Rotan
-------------------Husin

-----------------Voronin
---------------Shevchenko (c)

It will be something of that^ nature anyway. Nazarenko should get some game time too, depending on the way the game unfolds a host of options are on the bench...want to see more of Belyk, Shyschenko and Shelaiev though.

What are the players we should look out for in Kyiv? What are your NT's strenghts and weakeness (don't worry, I wont tell Blokhin). I haven't seen a Turkey game in a long time actually. The last one was against our boys actually...but in all fairness; we were a bit lucky, whilst Turkey should have at least scored two I think...

Best of luck in finishing 2nd! I am cheering for you, although Turks and Ukes are traditional enemies. Historically speaking anyway.

P.S. I want for Kazakhstan to get some points before this is all over! And lets face it- we only need one defensive team in Germany, and Ukraine is enough. hehe...at least we look good on the counter-attack.

how are your u-21's? any key players you care to mention there aswell?

Im hoping he plays..hel try very hard to score so he can endear himself to the Aek fans more ;)

If he does you best have very fast defenders playing..cos he is SUPER fast!

Wow, nice post Rebrov, thanks for enlightening us :)

I hope you guys do come out to play football, because I really wouldn't like to qualify without deserving it. If we can get what we need from you guys in a hard fought game, it can only be good for the lowly morale of a whole nation, let alone the football team..

Though with Shevchenko and Voronin upfront, I wouldn't give our defence (I like to call them a tap) a chance in hell of keeping a cleansheet..

Basically some probable things you'll see from us is a 4-4-2 system with a lone player (probably Selçuk) sitting infront of the back 4.. You'll have Alpay at the back, who's the type of defender who makes those small mistakes that Shevchenko has made a name for himself on, and Hakan Sukur upfront..

Ibrahim Toraman I think would be able to do a job on either Sheva or Voronin, he's a quick, young defender full of heart. But I really don't know how we'd be able to handle them both at the same time.. What a handful!

We don't play the same football as we did in the last game with you guys. That was some attractive stuff, and I'm convinced that the game was decided because of the form of two players, Sheva and Nihat..
If Nihat had put us 1-0 up in the 5th minute (or passed to Fatih Tekke for that matter), the result could well have been 3-0 the other way around. At this level, when you spurn chances like that, you get punished up the other end like we did.. And boy is Shevchenko cold hearted, he's as cold as ice! He made three moves in the game and all of them where scored from! Despite everything, I'm glad he'll finally get a shot at the World Cup..

I don't know, our team is very much a suprise package right now. We have a new manager and he's decided to be a revolutionalist and change about half of the squad, so we really don't know what we'll see..

We still have a small chance to WC and try to stick to it as long as possible and pray that Denmark manages to get a point from Greece. The fact that Ukraine is done for WC is a advantage for us, they are probably not going to take this game too seriously. As for us, we played a enjoyable football with Terim who chose an attacking formation last game. I expect him to continue like that.Our players got a nervous at the end and unfortunatly we lost those 2 points. Here is my first eleven at wendsday;

----------------------Volkan-------------------------
---Fatih A.--------Alpay--------Toraman-------Deniz--
-----------------------Selcuk------------------------
-------Okan----------Tumer-------------Hasan Sas---
------------Hakan Sukur-----Fatih T------------------

Actually no. I wouldn't.
