Four new teams will represent Africa in the World Cup for the first time ever - Drogba's Ivory Coast, Adebayor's Togo, Angola and Ghana, who will be missing the efforts of Michael Essien due to an ankle injury sustained in Chelsea's match against West Ham. All 4 will do their best to make a strong impression before they head off to Germany in the summer.

Tunisia will come to Egypt to defend their title, won two years ago on home soil.

Other african giants who failed to make the World Cup will be eager to make up for their shortcomings. The likes of Cameroon, Senegal, Nigeria and Morocco won't come here to have fun. Look out for Eto'o, Camara, Martins and Chamakh...

Egypt will be playing infront of their passionate fans, who will expect nothing short of victory. Can the Pharaohs add a 5th continental title to their name ? (Ghana, Cameroon and Egypt are tied at four titles each)

VOTE! :)

I've went with Cameroon simply because the deserve it, they were so unlucky not to qualify for the WC and are the best nation in the continent in my opinion.

Eto'o will also be top scorer.

I know you want me to say Egypt but I'm not going to :pp
No I don't  :D

I'd rather be an underdog than a favourite. ;)

Ivory Coast will take the final step to get their african throne. They have been good for a long time, and finally just now qualified to the World Cup. They will prove it was not jus a fluke accident.
mark my words .... ivory coast will lose from egypt ISA ...if they qualify they will as a 2nd and they probably will face cameroon and get knocked out ...morocco can beat them ... hopefully

Nigeria must get it. They must get it to save their faces. I gamble and I say that the players realize this and for once give it their best. :hopefull:

Egypt will win so that Mido is away a very long time and then goes partying in Cairo for a month and Jol can't find him. ;)
:howler: :D

Doesn't seem that we will though, going by our recent performances...

South Africa will rather surprisingly win the whole thing.
Weirder things have happened in the World Cup Qualifiers this year. I wouldn't be shocked if Libya or Zimbabwe take the trophy home...

This is actually a tough one to call. Based on the teams who choked and disappointingly did not make the WC, while those who made it, Togo, Angola will want to put on good performances to give themselves some credibility.

Watching Egypt - S. Africa yesterday, not sure if we can quickly jump to conclusions by saying that this is a sign that the hosts will flop. :(

I think it's wide open, and literally anyone can win it...except for Zimbabwe, Zambia, Guinea, Libya and Congo perhaps.
