The game is getting quite close now. Who knows how we are going to play. The last few games were not positive and its going to be a tough match in front of a hostile crowd. The players after the Leichenstein friendly said they're going to play better and so on. I guess we'll have to wait and see. CMON!!! No excuses for this game!

Lol, we need a mod to change that date. Suho is on sabbatical but baraba is always reading I bet.

We need to man up for this game, We're better and we need to go out there and play like it. No pussyfooting around, no aimless possesion for no rewards and some sleek football for a change.

My lineup prediction:

Pletikosa

Srna Corluka Joe/Lovren Strinic

Modric Vukojevic

Rakitic Dudu/Kovacic Rebic

Mandzukic

I got a feeling Eduardo will start, and if we play a 4-2-3-1, it will probably be behind Mandzukic. I put Vukojevic there as i see him as our only DM that Stimac would play, and its about time we play with a proper DM. However i got another feeling that it will be Modric and Kovacic in the middle, with Stimac thinking it worked the first time, so it will again. While i like the Modric-Kovacic combo, i just think we need a destroyer like Vukojevic who will provide some defensive stability and break down plays etc. I also put Rebic as i think he's an awesome player and imo the best option on the left side.

So it could end up like this

Modric Kovacic

Rakitic Dudu Rebic/Perisic

Mandzukic

They'll think of new and inventive excuses should they lose again, they are world champs at pathetic excuses :strong:

as for the game...fingers crossed Luka is healthy heading into it...he'll control the match.

Look for Olic to get one for us. Say what you will about Olic, but he has scored in some huge wins for us: England, Italy, Germany, Turkey and then when we beat the ladies to the east last time...Olic is the perfect weapon away and on the counter.

We are Croatia.:proud:

I suspect it's a mix of both. The Serbian FA is in a huge crisis at the moment with Zvezda attacking them because of various reasons and getting support. If this is true, then Mihjalović will have to eat his words but that wouldn't surprise me. Everyone's turned their backs on Tomislav Karadžić and they have to do something to deflect attention. A good result for Serbia is not a good thing for the supporter that wants clarity and some sort of structure in the FSS, a bad one will just kickstart even bigger issues. Croatia are better than Serbia at the moment and you guys shouldn't really worry, your NT is not the one in crisis and Štimac can still take his side to the World Cup in Brazil. We're just a lost cause at this stage where the only thing that works is the youth sector as there are people there with competence at the moment.

Two good players, and if they do get called up, it will be more difficult. But its also a good thing so if we beat them again there is no excuse. Fuken C Team
It isn't really so much about excuses. It's unfortunately the truth when guys like Stevanović, Radovanović, Fejsa, Šćepović etc start in a game against your biggest rival. It'd be the same if Croatia would replace 3-4 of their best players with players who're one or two levels below in terms of quality. The dynamic changes. Everyone would want Serbia to play their best team and have some sort of continuity in the selections but most importantly, a clear idea of how to play. We don't have that at the moment.

I think Badelj should be further from that starting 11. We need a true defensive "razbijaÄŤ" and I would trust Vuk. His passing and movement were good, he linked up well and was responsible on defense, when he got his chance and, heck, I like him. :D

Vukojevic has a great work rate but he commits too many fouls for a DM. And although he's safe, his range of passing is limited. Average DM IMO, but he could do a job for us nonetheless.

Watching this one in downtown Gospic surrounded by my crazy Licani. I cant fcuking wait!!!!

Yea Vuk was a red waiting to happen a few times, Ademi might be given the nod...

Whoever it is, please not Badelj

A proper DM, would be nice. I'd rather Ademi but Vukojevic has experience and would be first preference in that position for Stimac. But i do feel that it will be Modric-Kovacic, which worked the first time but i think its a risk.

on the left i would like Rebic. Maybe you'll disagree but i feel he is the best we have on that side right now. Perisic played most of the game for Wolfsburg on the weekend, and played decent i hear. Rebic has a better shot, is physically built, has good technical skill plus he would be hungry to prove himself.

However i do think Perisic is better defensively. He always tracks back to help Strinic. This is important. I still think Rebic deserves to start though
