I know we have a game to play against Torino first but without any sort of disrespect for Torino or Serie A, this is THE game.

We have to win. No other obtions. If we conceed more than 2 goals than we have to win by a minimum 2 goal margin. Gattuso, Paolo, Pippo and Serg are question marks for us besides the usual suspect Dida :broken: (plz wake up man)

I think and hope that by than Serg and Pippo are ready to go. I pray that Paolo and Rino can be back for this match. Here are the possible lineups that I would pick depending on our players conditions

If Paolo and Rino are ready than the same line up as tonight, exept for the obvious: Pippo for Gilardino (not that I think he did to bad tonight. He was simply to lonely to do anything IMO)

If Paolo is not ready than Bonera is my pick over Kaladze. Altough Kaladze has the experience and can be super on his day and dispite Bonera not still beeing quite ready for these realy big games, I would take my chance with him rather than Kaladze ATM. Kaladze seems to be way out of form right now. If Rino aint ready we have a few more obtions. We could either play Cafu instead of him or play Serg as left back and move Janks upp into midfiled next to Max. Either way we can use the pace of either of Cafu or Serg in our favor while maintaining some cover for the Defence.

BTW. Gourcuff aint ready for these games yet.

WIth out Paolo and Rino:

----------------------------Dida :hopefull:

------Oddo---------Nesta-------------Bonera-----------Serg

-----------Max----------------Pirlo-----------Janks

-------------------Kaka--------------Clarence

--------------------------Pippo

or

---------------------------Dida

---Oddo------------Nesta-----------Bonera----------Janks

------Cafu-------------Pirlo-------------Max

----------------Kaka--------------Clarence

----------------------Pippo

BTW. If Pippo aint ready for the game I rather see Serginho playing uppfront next to Kaka than anybody else ATM.

Never the less Forza Milan  :proud:

And plz for the love of God, if we somehow manege to do all the hard work and have the favorable results in hand, dont go shooting yourself in the leg Milan. Will we ever learn I wonder? :groan: :hopefull:

It was definately a baptism of fire for Bonera today. I can't remember if he has played any UCL games for us already, but today would definately have been a first for him (as far as high pressure games). Replacing Maldini at half time, to protect a 2-1 lead against the deadly Man Utd attack at Old Trafford in the Semi Final of the Champions League would be a daunting task for anyone. Not sure how people rated him, but I think that if he has to start next week (due to Maldini not getting up) he will be better for the experience.

Hopefully his nerves are seteled after this game. BTW, If Kaladze was showing any kind of form near to the one he did last year or back in 2003 when he marked Figo out of the SS game, I would have felt much better even with out Maldini but it doesn´t look like it :moan:

I am confident that Inzaghi will score if he starts the match. We cannot afford to play a wasteful Gilardino in such a big match. He does not have the experience, the killer instinct or the confidence that Inzaghi does. I don't care if he can only play for 70 minutes, we can always bring on fresh legs if needed. But I guarantee that he will take one of his chances during those 70 minutes that he is on. This is the stage that he thrives on. The Man Utd defence will be a little bit shaky and nervous, given the unsettling injuries it has suffered and the daunting task of trying to keep a clean sheet in the San Siro. Inzaghi is the man who will take advantage of that. Please Carlo, play him!

The Shev, I totaly agree. Inzaghi is a must in the return leg. I think Carlo saved him for that game actually, as he has better chances of scoring at home than away (this says alot about the fitnes of some of our player- Paolo and Pippo have been rested since the Bayern game and still not recovered).

Anyway, IMO even a full power United defence gets nerveus at teh sight of Inzaghi. THE man just has it :proud: DOnt let me down now Pippo

We where in a way worse situation against Bayern, and we perveiled. i know Bayern isnt as good as ManU, but we dominated Manu at Old Trafford, now thats gota say sumfn!!! weve got this, DW. i could say alot about Dida right now but thats not gona help. lets just hope he makes up for it.

Paolo and Rino are my first choices, but if they can't recover for the return leg...(finger crossed it doesn't happen)

--------------Dida---------------

Oddo---Nesta-----Kaladze--Janku

-----Cafu-----Pirlo---Ambrosini---

---------Kaka-------Seedorf-----

-------------SUPERPIPPO--------

GUYS PLEASE DO IT FOR SAN PAOLO, WIN IT FOR THE GREATEST CAPTAIN IN FOOTBALL HISTORY TO SEND HIM TO ATHENS!

Nothing less than a WAR with fighting spirit and bloods would be acceptable.

from official website,

SITUATION WITH GATTUSO AND MALDINI
4/24/2007
Rino Gattuso suffered a knock to the sole of his foot and left the field due to the pain. However, things are looking optimistic in regards to his condition and for his recovery for Milan-Manchester. He should be there for the return leg at the San Siro. Paolo Maldini’s situation will be evaluated. Patrice Evra will not be able to play because he received a second yellow card tonight and will be suspended for the second leg.

So Rino should be okay for the return leg, what a relieve...

Sorry but I hate this talking. I remember people talking about 'If Maldini gets one more yellow he could miss the final'... even before the yesterday's match was played.

One match a time. United is favourite. We need to overcome them before talking about any possibility of the final.

We should keep faith, but it's not a good time for arrogance.

That's an excellent piece of news.

Cheer Up , is not end of the day...

I knew many many people is already talking about all england Final - chelsea againts MU ....But guess what we scored two away goals and we lost 2-3 to MU , is ok As long as we score in San Siro, I am confidence we will march in to the Final . The defense of Milan is really shaggy..we need to improved , I think we should try out two foward attacking option by using Pippo and Gilardino, Yes, Gilardino play badly , however i think he will have the motivation to improve if he is playing along with KAKA AND Pippo, We need to have Pirlo, Gatusso, Maldini and Cafu back to the team ....Certainly We need to score in the first Half...I am still confidence we are going to the Final. We are Milan and we dont fear anybody in SAN SIRO . And We will be ready . Final Prediction Milan 3- MU 0

First of all, I didn't meant to be arrogant. Of course we still have one big game ahead before final, and how tough that indeed is going to be:relieved: .

I never wanted to say 'when we play in Athens', but just underlined that if we are blessed with that opportunity, then it's a big factor if Kakà and Maldini can play or not. If, if, if all the way:) .

I'm confident we can do it.

Just wanted to say what a good game it was last night. The return leg will be tough game for both sides. At the moment I would say it's 50/50 who goes through. United's win against 2 away goals and your home advantage. Who ever wins, I hope it will be a great game between two great sides and I hope the victors go on to lift the trophy in Athens.

This will be a cracker... Milan are always good for the San Siro and they will be up for it, but Man Utd hve a team, a young team, which will equally be read for this. I still think Milan have the chances, especially with Rino fit and Inzaghi upfront.

Also I would start Bonera ahead of Kaladze, but then Kaladze has the more experience for this occasions, its difficult, but hopefully Paolo is fit anyway and it doesnt matter.

No, Please.:)

Same logic as Gila-Pippo. Bonera could be better than Kaladze 5 years later, but what it counts is NOW.

Despite the poor form, I think with the help of Milan lab and the intensive traning for one week, Kaladze can be back to acceptable fitness a week later.

No more amateurs for a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL like this one.

We need winners like SuperPippo, Ambrosini and Kaladze, not stars-to-be like Gila or Bonera.

#23 ·
Well to be fair Bonera played quite well when he came on (neither goal was hardly his fault) and Kaladze looked disastrous when I saw him, but if things can thange for Kaladze I would start him for the experience, but I bet that Paolo will be ready anyway.

Hopefully....

------------------------Dida---------------------------
Oddo-------Nesta-------Maldini-------Jankulovski-------
-------Gattuso--------Pirlo-----Ambrosini---------------
----------Kaka-------------Seedorf--------------------
---------------------Inzaghi---------------------------

Tactically, I think we'll have to approach the game with the same plan and intensity as the Bayern game. Goes without saying that it is so crucial that Kaka finds space. We need Pirlo to advance more when we're in possession and take more control of the game, whether he comes up through the centre or links up on the flanks.

In terms of potential sub options, Serginho is a must at some stage. His pace and technical ability on the left flank will cause any of their right backs nightmares, fit or not. Also we might have to open our midfield a little and switch to 4-3-1-2 if the situation requires it.

I think United's home/away gap is bigger than other sides. They havent impressed near as much away as they have at home. Hopefully none of their injured defenders will be ready for the game, but even if they are, they'll not be 100% match ready, so either way their back line should be more vunerable than normal. Evra missing is a small but important positive.

FORZA MILAN!

United have lost 3 of their 5 away matches in this season's Chl. no?

I am cautious on this one.

We are 2-3 down so we need to press upfield in San Siro, while United can hit us on counter attacks by Rooney and Crisitiano.

Counter games are the WEAPON of this Man Utd, and we'd have plenty of that in the return leg...

United is in 60-40 chance of going through I think. We need to perform really really well to win this one.
