Liverpool FC vs FC Barcelona

Barça visit Anfield Road looking for a miracle in which is hard to believe, considering the results we are getting in the important games of the season this year. But there are reasons to believe in miracles. First of all, Barcelona will probably present the Ronnie-Eto'o-Messi attacking trio for the first time in months. Besides, Barcelona also showed how to overcome a similar situation in La Copa against Zaragoza when few people gave a cent for them. Moreover, this team are the current European winners and they still deserve some credit, the benefit of the doubt.

The objetive is clear: we must score at least 2 goals no matter how. Then we have to avoid the counters no matter how too. Basically, we need to make the perfect game and we must go for it since the first minute. It's not impossible, they have 90 minutes to do it, and we need to play with heart and head.

We are out. We have nothing to lose now. So let's go for it.

FORÇA BARÇA! SOM-HI NOIS!

Just play your hearts out..

If we go out, too bad. Shit happens. There's always next year. But we'll also have less games and can focus in liga and copa.

If we win, absolutely wonderful. It will be a great comeback that will give REM the chance to rip up Europe again and have another serious go at the big one.

Either way, Visca el Barçaa!!

Damn it Culed, I have to go eat now.
Tell me about it. :D Don't talk about Nutella, no matter what time of the day it is. :fero:

Umm...yeah, Anfield, not impossible, but it will be extremely difficult. Barca will go all-out attack since the first minute and they know they can only afford one mistake. It doesn't make a big difference if Liverpool score first because Barca scored first at the Nou Camp and lost 1-2...so mentally you are in good shape, you know that conceding one goal doesn't change the fact you need two goals to keep the tie alive.

The defense is key, Thuram and Puyol have to come up huge. If you defend like in recent games, though, you won't stand a chance.

M4, nice analysis . If we concede a goal, it doesn't change the fact that we must score 2. Good for mentality.

Barcelona will probably play with ultra attacking style. Benitez is happy about it because it can bring him an easy win, but I second that Thuram+Puyol is the best solution to avoid that.

Whatever the final result, UEFA can only thank Barça for bringing the show to CL. There's no such games lately like those of Barça and I'm not biased on this. That makes me proud.

Despite yesterday's huge disappointment i firmly believe we can do it.

I just hope Frank picks the right players and more importantly put in their fvking right positions.

Here's my line-up:
----------------Valdes--------------
--Oleguer---Thuram--Puyol---Zambrotta--
----------------Edmilson----------
----------Iniesta---------Deco-------
------Messi-------------------Ronaldinho----
------------------Eto'o--------------

-Marquez shouldn't put a foot on the pitch. He's been a walking disaster for quite some week/months now and it HAS to stop.

-Oleguer must absolutely stay as far away from the CB position just like Gio should do the same for the LB spot.

- REM will be the key.

I think u need another forward along side with eto for iniesta maybe , and xavi instead of deco coz xavi will have to run in such a high risk game like 150 kms as pool will try to kill the game and end it goalless ....1 forward isnt enough in such a game

I guess

...............................................valdes...........................................

Oleguer............................thuram.......puyol............................zambro

...............................(If not suspended )marquez..............................

Messi................................................................................ronnie...

gonna be freaky tough for Liverpool. Eto'o was rested for this.

And I am sure Rijkaard is not as dumb as Mourinho and will go all attack. Mourinho who was in the same position last season (had to win by 2 goals in Nou Camp and conceding a goal would not had changed their target by any means) was fairly defensive in Nou Camp.

We might as well see, The Pure Barca of last season :sweeteye:

I see it that it's very unlikely that this Barca (full of mistakes of their own players, low morale) will progress even tho they are more than capable of doing so.

Barca's worst enemy is themselves, there's no team in Europe who are good as them but there's something missing in the team this season which took them a level down.

I hope you beat Liverpool but I think Pool will even win this return leg 2-0..

If Barca plays their game they are unstoppable but we've been saying this all season.. Barca hardly performed as they should specially in big games..

Whatever lineup and formation Liverpool comes up with they will play much better than Barca. The team has been playing horribly, Marquez has been giving away goals for free. If Rijkaard doesn't play Thuram next 2 Puyol we can expect a goals festival for Liverpool.Maybe it's time that Rijkaard starts with Ronaldinho,Messi, and Eto'o coz this is the only attacking lineup that could score goals.Anyway...I'm like 90% sure we won't qualify, especially after the way we played yesterday. But maybe it's time the team wins the Copa Del Rey,coz it seems that we gave up on the Champions League and the Liga titles.

I just slept for 2 and half hours befor going to work and I came back about 30 minutes ago, I hurt my hand last night, so typing isn't my best thing today, I'm not the kind of person who gives up easy.

and I have a bigger believe in this club spirit and that fans will demand a lot from the players and the coaching staff in Barcelona these days, and the player, coaching staff and even the club president will reply with a great thing, and will show what it mean to be FC Barcelona :proud:

the key to this game, I said and I'll be saying all week, an early goal and as much as possioning and fast tempo of the game, that will make Liverpool feel dumb and fools allover the pitch, they play counter attack and always tend to pass long pass's from left to right or back to froward and so on.

Gio should be out of the squad or I swear god, I'd write something and I'd be the 1st Clue to hack into FCBarcelona.com and fvcking close it for good! he's shit, been shit and always will be shit!

Zambrotta as much as I want him to play as LB, he's RB for this one and play Sylvinho who used to play in EPL and knows the task.

and no more Ronaldinho in CF!
