As for fouls, you'll note the portugal players are lashing out when they lose the ball to a good tackle. Difference is the belgium players stay on their feet and play on, so no whistle. The stat is meaningless, as is possession when you can only manage to pass it between the backline.

We have made it to 3 QF's in the last 3 tournaments, playing the most dire, souless bunch of shit one could hope for. A few steps more here and there wouldn't change that fact, especially since two of those were on pens... a crapshoot.
