I think Emre won't go abroad any more in such an age.

 

I think so too, I think he's itching for a move back. If he comes back on the cheap, has the desire, and isn't opposed to continuing being a rotational player, I won't mind at all.This depends on his mood at the time I think, he's just sick of Turkey and the baggage attached.

I could see Tuncay coming back finally. He barely featured for Bolton this season. Surely he must be tired of going from team to team.

Soner Aydogdu would be interesting

 

I watched some of his games, basically a better version of Ozgur Cek. So yeah I think he would be decent, however we really should be focusing on our weaknesses first.

 

Doesn't he play in central midfield?

 

Probably, though I'm almost certain he is more of an attacking player. Don't know why I compared him to Ozgur tbh, all I know is that he's a good crosser and a half decent at set-pieces.

 

Soner is a central midfielder and adds substance to the attack - I guess he can be close to Emre's style. Can add something offensively.

 

There you go, that's something we need since Gokay seems to have stalled, or at least not progressed to the levels we would have hoped for just yet.

I just feel like Gokay can be better than Soner. But they are both young... they can be good and be the future two CM's for us.

Though two issues to consider:

1) Patience from the club & fans
2) Simarmak

 

I think having both competing for one spot would be great. Perhaps it will spark up Gokay again. It seems he's fallen into that trap of "Emre's leaving so I'll take his place no problem". He has to learn how to earn it, otherwise he'll end up like the dozens of other youth products who have ended up in the 2.Lig over the years.

 

I think Gokay should be more of the mold of defense first. Should FB get Aydogdu, he'd be more in the Emre mold, but with more distribution. I know Aydogdu has played on the wing before, so there's an additional bonus.

 

Honestly Gokay is not an acceptable solution to the midfield. He is way too small to play there. The shitty Selcuk we all hate is one of the strongest players in the league. And that is a position where you have to be strong, or like Emre be able to know what to do with the ball.

 

I never understood why people thought Gokay was the ideal replacement for Emre, or that he was even capable of doing so. First of all, he's never gotten consistent first team playing time, with few if any starts last season or this season. Yeah, he runs a lot, but what does he really do on the field? In the very few times that I've seen him play, he's been near invisible on the pitch (but then again, see point 1). If this kid doesn't break in next season, he'll be gone very quickly.

Honestly, judging by what they've done these past two seasons, I'd much rather have Stoch and Dia than Sudsack and Krasic...

 

Gokay works hard, covers a lot of ground, and plays the simple part of the role well enough. His passing is accurate just not adventurous.

He's not even 20 yet so nothing is done and dusted, but he does need to earn or be given significantly more playing time in the next two years if he's to make the improvements he needs to make to take the next step in his career.

There is a chance that Dia is on the outer after the red card in the penultimate match.

Aykut was less than impressed at the time, and as much as I'd like to see him stay and feature, I won't be dismissing any rumours about his departure just yet.

 

To be honest after these lousy /questionable managerial decisions during key moments in playoffs, we can be less than impressed about Aykut's decision-making, so I hope he doesn't write off Dia yet...
