The Campionato Primavera has just started and we have drawn our first two games, 0-0 at home to Mantova and 1-1 away to Modena. We sit 9th out of 14.

Our Berretti squad, last year's champions has started out fairly poorly, unfortunately. We beat Ivrea 3-1 in opening game, but lost the next three to Monza, Legnano, and Pavia. We sit 10th out of 14.

Our Allievi Nazionale has been doing pretty well. After four rounds we have won two and drawn one, and had one bye (there are 13 teams in league so consequently there is one that doesn't play every week - ours was the first week). Nonetheless, we sit 5th out of 13.

Our Giovanissimi Nazionale have had a fantastic start to their season, winning all four of their opening games and conceding only one goal. We are 1st place out of 13.

The thing is, when it gets to the older levels, it also becomes more based on ability. Like, you could say Primavera is U20 and Beretti is U19, but there is some overlap.

I guess if you wanted to do it like that, it would be:

Primavera: U20
Beretti: U19
Allievi Nazionale: U17
Giovanissimi Nazionale: U15

Allievi Regionale: U16
Allievi Fascia B: U16
Giovanissimi Fascia B: U14

Just an update:

Our Primavera just beat Sampdoria 1-0 with a fine goal from midfielder Paolo Scutti, but we are in 7th place out of 14 with 15 points 10 games played. Juventus leads on 24 points.

The Berretti just tied with Novara 0-0 and sit 8th out of 14 with 15 points from 13 games. Pro Sesto leads with 30 points.

The Allievi Nazionale just beat Novara 3-0 and sit 2nd out of 13th with 26 points from 12 games, the halfway point of the season. Juventus lead on 32 points.

The Giovanissimi Nazionale were idle this weekend but now sit 3rd out of 13 with 29 points from 12 games, with the league being at the halfway point. Juventus lead on 34 points.

 

We will send our Primavera to the prestigious youth Torneo di Viareggio, which we have won in six times, behind only Fiorentina and Milan. We will be in Group 10 with Spartak Moscow, Rimini, and Castelnuovo Garfagnana.

The tournament will take place from January 28 to February 11.

Ci sono storie che non tutti sanno, che restano nei cassetti dei dirigenti della società di calcio, ma quando vengono rese pubbliche hanno dell'incredibile: Sebastian Giovinco, uno dei migliori talenti italiani, da giovanissimo fu scartato dal Torino, da sempre una società attenta al settore giovanile, a parte qualche lacuna nel periodo di Calleri e poi di Cimminelli.

Giovinco ha ammesso su Leggo: "Mi convocarono per un provino, ma furono chiari: sei bravo, ma troppo piccolo, meglio lasciar perdere con il calcio". Una gaffe di qualcuno degli esperti allenatori delle giovanili granata, che adesso sicuramente si mangerà le mani.

Cairo probabilmente avrebbe scelto diversamente, visto che il suo pupillo è un certo Rosina che di certo non è più alto della "formica atomica" ora in forza all'Empoli. E attenzione: il Toro spera che tra quindici giorni Giovinco non si ricordi del mancato approdo in granata, perchè sarebbe micidiale se l'empolese si mettesse in mostra segnando qualcuno dei suoi incredibili gol.
