He was amazing, fam. He wasn't even at his best in 99 but he was still elite. His decline came pretty quick after his Man Utd tenure though.

Yeah, he peaked in the early/mid '90s, will always have a special place in my heart alongside Brian Laudrup. :)

Despite the fact that I generally preferred a Latino showboating style of goalkeeping as a kid (Vitor Baia, Pagliuca).

But even excluding the lobs I've watched a lot of classic Premier League football back from 92-99 on YouTube and Sky Sports and people forget he was actually error prone, made quite a few mistakes in random games like vs Barnsley, Derby, West Ham type games.

Of course he was top class but it needs to be mentioned.

I know every keeper makes mistakes so I don't wanna be too harsh on him lol but there's a channel that has original 90s footage, and sometimes I watch it back. Came across some funny mistakes from him a few months back haha.

3:28 could count as a lob kinda lol. But it hit the ground 1st.

Wtf, chill with the sarcasm. :D You could find errors like those for any of those keepers, except possibly Buffon (I remember one howler against Atalanta in the Moggi days, but he probably had money on that game). Casillas, Cech and Kahn are more overrated imo, from Andy's list. Probably De Gea too, though I haven't watched a lot of footie in recent years.
