Tommaso Rocchi all'Inter, ormai ci siamo.

----

1.2 mill in total for the transfer and his wages.

Welcome Rocchi. From the Lazio bench to Inter's.

a little background: Rocchi has actually cost Inter a trophy as he scored against us for Lazio in the 2009 Super Coppa. Quality finish it was. He scored against us last season, when Lucio failed to mark him. He scored against us on other occasions, also with Empoli.

Winter, Vieri, Crespo, Almeyda, Deki, Veron, Mihajlovic, Favalli, Cesar, Pandev, Zarate, Rocchi. We sure love former Lazio players. Obviously there are others I forgot.

German Denis or Floccari probably would have been better, but they also would have been more expensive, I guess.

Unbelievable. :drunk:

You'd normally expect Rocchi to go to an ailing club at this stage of his career. Wait a sec... :undecide:

A Fine Bench addition to help Milito. So Livaja can just take his time.

I didnt expect more, I only dream of Drogba. :D Rocchi is fine people, as a Vice Milito.

Big Name Strikers... pls do not expect big names, as it will end up in dissapointment.

Bunga Berlu just said.. Niang is better than Balotelli to dupe Milan fans. :D

Moratti would never do that to us.

Welcome new Ferrante. I will appreciate your non-contribution and your subsequent ****ing off in the summer.

Happy New Year, guys!

Welcome back, vlep!

P.S. It's called being real. Now that we've signed Rocchi, might as well go for Liverani and Caracciolo too.

Thankfully he's playing in B, dude has a knack of scoring against us.

Our new club motto, NO ITALIANS NO PARTY!!! We figured a 35 year old Italian striker is much better than going for the Tevez', Lavezzi's and Lucas' of the world.

We don't need goal scoring from Rocchi, all that is expected of him is to do a half decent job in his handful of appearances for us. Think of how much Castaignos played for us and that is the ball park of appearances we are really expecting, because that is the role he is brought in to cover. Livaja had the worthless EL matches to play at the first half of the season, but will have no such chance in the second half.

This isn't Batistuta coming here, we don't expect much from Rocchi, nor is he going to feature much for us. He is the person you put in to give Milito a break when the game has been settled. He can score a single goal for us and he would still have played his role.

The problem is with relying on our useless duds, is they can actually grow, which means their price goes up which means the club wins. Sitting as a backup for a backup is meaningless for Livaja. How many games do you expect him to play the rest of the season? Let him go on loan, play a bunch of games and then you can sell him for a good profit if he isn't Inter caliber.

In our financial situation I'd rather give that backup role to a Primavera guy, Livaja or Longo, then flush 1.2 million euro down the toilet for HALF A SEASON of a 35 year old Rocchi.

As you yourself describe his role, it's damn near worthless and irrelevant - so why spend so much money on it?

The gap between a 35 year old Rocchi that didn't score the last 11 months and doesn't even play for Lazio, and a random primavera guy we had - also taking to account that the minimal impact this role has - doesn't justify spending 1.2 million euro on, for half a ****ing season.

We were bleeding from our ass to find 8 million euro for Paulinho, right now we're looking to sell everyone and their mother so we can spend more then 10 million euro - but yea, let's throw 1.2 million euro to the ground like it's a gum while selling to our fans that we're making financial adjustments, and trying to make the team younger.

What a worthless excuse for an organization. Pathetic.

If we keep Livaja on the bench and he has 2-3 appearences, who much does his price go up by compared to him going on loan and playing 12-15?

If its more than 1 million then you make a profit. Even if you don't sell him, investing in hope of developing young players by giving them a chance to get playing time elsewhere rather than keep them around "just in case maybe we might possibly need them".

We have more forwards in the primavera squad besides Livaja though. Just bump the next one in line if Livaja is shipped out.

Bringing in a has been to sit on the bench isn't necessary. I'd rather let some random primavera chap occupy that seat.

I sort of have a feeling that there is a reason why Lazio are happy to rid themselves of Rocchi. And I am also sensing that the reason isn't because Rocchi is too good to sit on the Lazio bench.

I see all your points about Rocchi:smileani:,I think it obviously can&can't work with him.Yes he's 35 and hasn't been really in the frame for Lazio for a while, but has known how to score goals before.I wonder if it would've been better to get someone like even Borriello instead in that case?.

#30 ·
Why do people assume we have players in the Primavera who can contribute at the level of a 35 year old Rocchi? If that was the case then you will find much more 19 year olds in the club. Strama has said that the level of Primavera is far below that of Serie B. Castaignos was a good striker in Eredivise and was dominant when playing with the Primavera and still wasn't good enough to be a Serie A backup.

Rocchi: Why am I not wanted?
By Football Italia staff

Free agent Tommaso Rocchi doesn’t understand why he’s attracted no interest from any Serie A club.

The 35-year-old is currently unemployed after his six-month contract with Inter expired at the end of June.

“To be honest, I’m surprised by the disregard in me from Italian top-flight clubs this summer,” noted the striker.

“I’ve had a series of offers from abroad, interesting ones at that, but I’ve been really thrown by the fact that nobody in Serie A is thinking of me.

“I’ve had a few proposals from Serie B, including one from Padova, but I want to underline that I still feel good enough for the top Division.”

Rocchi, formerly of Empoli, joined the Nerazzurri in January after almost a decade with capital outfit Lazio.

Over the last three seasons in Serie A, Rocchi has scored 11 goals in 54 appearances.

Poor guy.

Anyhow, he didn't get much minutes for us initially (and I bashed him, called him fat) but after all the injuries to other players he improved and started to contribute. Good luck to him.

Well if Luca Toni can still get a contract in Serie A, so can Rocchi.

I agree Ahm:thmbup:;), Rocchi can still score goals I'm sure&as long as he doesn't ask for the moon in wages he wouldn't be a bad signing for one of the promoted teams for sure:D.
