Let's put all rumours and talk about the new Mister here! Sky Bet have an interesting article, often these bookies have a good insight in what's actually happening behind the scenes

SPECIAL ONE' 4/7 FOR MESTALLA

Sky Bet have installed Jose Mourinho as 4/7 favourite to be the next permanent manager of Valencia after Spanish reports linked him with the job on Monday.

Valencia parted company with coach Quique Sanchez Flores at the weekend following their 3-0 Primera Liga defeat at Sevilla.

Reserve-team coach Oscar Fernandez was put in temporary charge of the team but Sky Bet reckon it's an odds-on chance that former Chelsea boss Mourinho gets the job full-time.

Sky Bet's football compiler Dave Sykes said: "This is a great job opportunity for Mourinho, who is reportedly eager to get back into management.

"Valencia have genuine title and cup credentials and with few similar opportunities for him here in England, it seems perfect timing for him."

The 'Special One' dominates Sky Bet's market and if the prices prove spot on then there's the intriguing possibility of a swift return to Stamford Bridge as Valencia meet Chelsea in the Champions League on December 11.

Also in the frame are Fabio Capello at 5/1 and Marcelo Lippi at 8/1 and it's then 12/1 about caretaker boss Fernandez.

Martin Jol is 14/1 for a rapid return to management following his Spurs exit and it's 16/1 bar.

Capello has stated MANY TIMES that Real Madrid was/is the only club in La Liga he would manage.

Im not saying Capello would or would not join, but he is of course as much of a winner as there is.

Anyway Joshua... Capello also said the same when he was at Roma that he would not manage another rival of ours after his stint and then he backstabbed us one summer and moved to Juve :pp

Lippi plays down Valencia link

Italy's World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi has played down reports linking him with a move to Valencia. The Primera Liga giants parted company with coach Quique Sanchez Flores late on Sunday and reports in both Spain and Italy have linked the former Juventus coach with the vacancy at Mestalla.

However, Lippi revealed he has not spoken to Valencia over a possible move.

"I don't know where these reports have come from. I haven't spoken to anyone at Valencia and I have never said I would be interested in moving there," he told PA Sport on Monday.

Sources in Italy claim the veteran coach, who has been out of work since guiding Italy to their fourth World Cup success in Germany last summer, is ready to end his sabbatical by moving to Spain's east coast.

But Lippi denies this and admits he is in no rush to return to coaching.

"At the moment I am only thinking about spending more time in Italy with my family. There will come a time when I will return to work, but right now I am in no hurry," he explained.

Lippi also refused to rule out working in England in future, but reiterated that such a move would be impossible at this stage because of his limited language ability.

"I have not said that I wouldn't work in England one day. English football is great, but it would be almost impossible for me at this stage, because I don't speak the language," he said.

Lippi has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham in the past, but said he has not received any concrete offers to work in the Premier League.

"I haven't received any offers, but even if I did it would be pointless because of the language barrier," he added.

Well, I guess Lippi won't be our new coach :frownani: Excuse me while I go slit my wrists :lala:

Im a bit worried that Jose doesn't normally use wingers. That can't happen here.No Vicente + no Joaquin=No Valencia.

Or was that only for Chelski?Im not sure how he played with Porto though.

But neverthless,we need one of him or Lippi.

Sx1 brings up a good point. Jose hated playing with wingers in Chelsea, SWP, Cole and even Robben were not regulars for his team. At Chelsea it was always Makelele (Albelda), Essien (Marchena) and this season he played with Obi (Sunny?) alot. I woudln't go crazy about the prettier game you guys have been praying for.

I am reading that the original plan was to let QQ run out his contract & get Marcelino next season. It seems a agreement was in place. So (i am not sure about this, could be rumours or bad translation from google) the club is in a fix whether to appoint someone temporary or to get Lippi/Morinho etc & pay compo to Marcelino.

What the!?
Where did you read about Marcelino!

Now it says that Scolari would like to be the coach but the Portuguese FA says NO.
FĂşcking bastards :groan:

Lippi is waiting for the Italian NT to be analyzed, if Donadoni stays then he might come to Valencia.
He wants to make a comeback as the NT coach for Italy.

Not really, I like to be up late :D

Post the thread and it's page so I can read that because I haven't heard it before :pp
Now I will go though, finally ;)

Lippi does not want to make a comeback as NT coach. He has said that he would consider coaching the Azzurri again, but not for Euro 2008. But, if you look at the article I posted, Lippi was totally bewildered when he was asked about the whole Valencia thing, although I'd like to think that it's all just a game he's playing :flirt:
