While this tournament has surely lost it's prestige and significane it is a trophy which i recent seasons seen the big teams in the final and a trip to Cardiff.

Liverpool like most EPL teams which come into the competition into this round will field a relatively second string/ youth team, many of Liverpool's players will be of the Liverpool FA Youth Cup Winners of 2006, a similar bunch to the kids which got us to the final in 2005.

It's a good run-out and chance for these players in a competitive atmosphere under the manager for a chance to impress.

Young player to look out for will be Paul Anderson, Craig Linfield and Adam Hammill. We may also see the young goalie Martin play, with Dudek suspended and our shortage of goalkeepers.

Robbie Fowler is also expected to play

I hope for a win and some confidence built up in the club

Liverpool will be without Craig Bellamy (ankle), Fabio Aurelio (groin) and Mark Gonzalez, and Steven Gerrard, Sami Hyypia and Xabi Alonso will be rested.

Robbie Fowler (back injury) returns and Danny Guthrie, Lee Peltier, Jamie Smith and David Martin are all included.

Reading welcome back Sam Sodje after knee surgery but Bobby Convey and Graeme Murty are out.

James Henry, Alex Pearce, Curtis Osano, Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Jonathan Hayes are all in the squad.

Starting form tonight match which I hope to win . :smileani:
I predict to be separate 1 or 2 goals . Players which will be start today vs Reading should proved their
selves by getting victory and be good performance ( hope that ) .
Absence of some main players in like these will not make sense cus a lot of players need a chance to play matches like this in Carl or FA ( not in EPL of course :pp )

Of course they do....:D
Bhaichung Bhutia is our star player.(and he is now 31)
We are quite bad though :(
Lost 6-0 to Japan at home :proud: :frustrat:
Although, given the circmstances currently, I am hoping for a 2022 WC spot for India:hopefull:

KosovoKid.. I would suggest letting Laurel & Hardy.. I mean mass & Roonaldo have their moments of fun.. and simply ignore them.. I'm assuming most of the forum are doing what I do.. skip reading the post if it's by them!

Kopite32.. Ya I'm expecting the same line up.. maybe the difference could be Riise in for Garcia in midfield.. and we'd get to see the other kids sometime during the game (Guthrie & Smith).. Oh and Kol sana wu inta 6ayeb :)

Looks like this will be yet another frustrating game and looking at the midfield it's not real surprise. The only player who might create something is probably Pennant..

0-0 almost halftime.

EDIT -

Just as I say that,........ROBBIE!! 1-0!

I read that Pennant is having a very good game and Robbie's goal was a typical great finish, chipped the keeper after being played through by Pennant.

Would like to see Guthrie on for Momo later on if things go our away to give Momo a breather.
