I have waited long enough in my opinion, if you want to merge this somewhere go ahead, but it's time for something like this, though I know some people will actually come defend him.

If you don't count the cup, where he scored some goals against 4.HNL opposition, he has scored 4 goals this season, three of them coming in one match. I don't even remember the last time he scored honestly.

Alright, he had some nice matches for the U21's, especially the Greece match, but a teammate of his is more effective at that level (Tomislav Busic) and yet nobody considers him a big time prospect

In my opinion, he will be in Asia or Russia in six months, and when I'm talking about Russia, not CSKA or Spartak, somthing like Terek or Rubin.

Somebody at Hajduk needs to show some balls and bench him or even better tell him to go packing and look for a new life, obviously it's not working at Hajduk.

I can't be bothered posting his miserable stats, maybe when I have time I will

If it was up to me, I'd give him to the Serbian NT for a bag of chips to play with his long lost brother Antonio

anyone can have a bad game or a bad streak, but with rukavina its just lasted for too long. its not just a bad period but it comes down to him being a bad player who every one or twice does something good which then the media hypes beyond proportion.

rukavina out!

and hs don't worry with performances like these rukavina stands about much chance of getting to nt as me or you do.

Olic didn't pass any basics either, look where he is now.

And that goal against England, his touch wasn't intended to round Carson, he wanted to absorb that and luckily touched it with his cement boots around Carson and almost knocked it back across the face of goal wide.

But the thing I think about Olic is that he has no idea of what he's doing, which gives him the advantage that the defender couldn't know what he's doing either so he can at least live off of that advantage.

hey, if a Croat came to Red Bull NY I would be there more no matter who it was, but honestly Rukavina is one Croatian player I wouldn't even care if he signed for RBNY.

This was his chance to maybe bring some confidence, but when he can't score against the likes of Medjimurje and Croatia Sesvete, he isn't going to score against Dinamo in a big spot

Outside of that Greece game, he never comes up big

ps: Mandzukic is not far away from Rukavina, when was the last time he scored?

ps: Mandzukic is not far away from Rukavina
There's some truth in that, to be honest he had the game of his life against Ajax in Amsterdam. Though I see alot of potential in him but his biggest enemy is himself! He need to stop acting like a star, become a part of the team and go into the games 100% motivated and focused on the mission.

When he does that he will be a attractive forward on the market as he's tall and posses good technique which is very sought-after.

I think Ante was just guessing about Orkan though. I have a feeling he lives in HRV.
I don't believe he's in RH. I get the feeling he doesn't get much HNL coverage on tv, he just read the papers where our players get hyped up and buys every single word. That's why he always protect guys like Rukavina.

Once way back I used to be believe them aswell before I learned how our media works.

Orkan, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn't say where he lived...CK said Orkan's Canadian...so given that 65% (give or take:smileani:) of this board is from the Toronto area, chances are he is also...:)

All I know is rukavina has proven to be a collassal failure...and Niko is proving his talent in the EPL...enough said.:shades:

i agree with hrvatino i think mandzukic is a talented player but the game against ajax made him think he is a star..unlike rukavina mandzukic has had success in the hnl with nk zagreb and i believe he has 9 goals for dinamo this year..

He is from either Canada or America who watches all the games and highlights available to him.

Orkan is a desperate Hajduk fan and he might be biased but I respect him for his love of the club.

Mandzukic played really well in the first half of the season. He is in a form slump but i agree that he needs to improve his attitude if he wants to be a great player.

This topic is true, i can't believe some of you guys here, (now Jure will get mad tho). Only place where he is rated is diaspora and thats by Hajduk fans who get all their info trough slobodna and don't actually watch him. You guys are worse than those Asians with Beckham mania.. u've read something in paid article in some newspapers about Rukavina 2 yrs ago and now you expect and whats more sad actually believe that he has some talent. Fact is that he is third league level player who scored few lucky goals in Sibenik who had good run back then. Fact is that he doesn't know basics of football, he didn't play in any of youth selections, infact he was sub in all Sibenik youth selections, in second league he was sub as well, and not like he is young now already. He doesn't have shot, he doesn't know how to get into goal scoring situations, all he has is some semi-speed. Things like that u learn when u are 11, he skipped that part. I've seen tons of guys like him in second div, but their problem is that they don't have background like he does. Get real ppl god damn.

Ruki has pace.

Ruki has athletisism.

Ruki has the burts of speed required to get to the ball first.

Ruki has... this is all ruki has, and its not enough for an impact at a CF position in the HNL1.

I think what someone mentioned about Rukavina being more suited to a position on the wing midfield rather then a striker should be looked at in Hajduk because his speed and dribbling would be most suited there.
I'm convinced, he's not a goal scorer capable of playing as a striker in the HNL or that he'll ever develop into one that would succeed in a stronger league.

my guesses on Orkan, his ancestry or himself is from Dugi Rat, but he does not live there himself as there is no internet in Dugi Rat :pp

my odds: 85% North America, 10% Europe outside of Cro, 4% actually in Croatia, 1% Australia

:D

:howler:

This is why we produce such great athletes, no time for computer and video games. Drago Gabric, the Vitaci, Jure Zilic, Tonci Zilic, Vedran Vukusic, Jure Grizelj, Tomislav Erceg. :smileani:

#33 ·
since we are discussing orkan, i trust him when he says he's from earth :D

dugi rat ancestry is a given. plus didn't he once say he was so bored without hnl that he might start watching a league? that would point to which continent? :lala:

oh btw i've seen his ip and i know where its from so this could either be:

a) a hint i'm giving you..
or
b) playing with you and blurring the water up by misleading you onto a false path :pp

why do you have to trash players?....why not talk about players who has a positive trend instead....

#37 ·
boyo let me tell you something. we are croats, its in our blood. after one or two good games we hype our players to unreasonable proportions and then when they get into a bad streak we tend to thrash them way more than they deserve. the proofs of this are everywhere, niko kranjcar being the most well know case, but one can also look at ante rukavina, ivica olic, ivan klasnic, goran ljubojevic.... heck pretty much everyone. we don't only stop at players, we tend to extend this to teams as well. there are also proofs for this everywhere - croatian nt, dinamo, hajduk...

#38 ·
Well to be fair the above tends to be true, but more for the media than your everyday football fan.

And again to be fair, havent we praised most of our players, now, there are some who we bash and trash but most of these guys deserve it for their performances? I recall recently backing Niko Kovač - all the way and suho wanting to sleep with him ;)

#39 ·
well tell you what don't take football fans you see on here as everyday fans. people on here are football geeks. your everyday football fan doesn't follow everything about his favorite club, players etc. he follows results and more important things going on in the club like change of coach etc...

majority of football fans take their knowledge of things happening in football through the media. this applies not just in croatia but everywhere in the world. they take what media write for the complete and utter truth. and when media write crap like ante rukavina is the greatest thing ever and lyon wants him they take that for granted and actually believe that crap.

What you described above I wouldnt call a fan. :D
I would say that this is a casual football follower.

A fan knows his shit.
