Three games to go, so maybe it's time to start planning for next season. I suppose Colomba's staying so is it still 4-4-1-1 next season or something else..?

First thing to mention is that we have seven players running out of contract: Pavarini, Ângelo, Coppola, Savi, Crespo and brothers A and C. I could see Pavarini and Crespo moving to our coaching staff wich would mean that either we must buy a decent backup for Mirante or plant Santurro to bench. Second thing to mention is that we're finally getting rid of both Lucarelli's! Woho!

We've been again linked with many great players, so let's try to combine an "likely" team for season 11/12. If Zaccardo's going to stay too I would like to see something like this.

Code:
4-4-1-1
Mirante (Santurro)
Zaccardo (Feltscher/Rispoli) - Paletta (Paci) - X (Rossi) - Gobbi (Castellini?)
Giaccherini/Dessena - Džemaili (Nwankwo/De Vitis) - D'Agostino/Galloppa (Obi/Zé Eduardo) - Modesto (X)
Giovinco/Palladino
X
Or maybe like this, which I prefer more:

Code:
3-4-1-2
Mirante (Santurro)
Zaccardo (X) - Paletta (Paci) - X (Rossi)
Aguirregaray (Feltscher/Rispoli) - Džemaili (Nwankwo/De Vitis) - D'Agostino/Galloppa (Obi/Zé Eduardo) - Modesto (Gobbi)
Giovinco/Palladino
Pellè - X
If we suppose that Sampdoria's going down there's Volta, Dessena and Biabiany for example! Obi's contract expires btw this summer...

I don't anyway know much about our wage budget, but we could make more space there by just getting rid of those useless players of ours. That is just what we gotta do if we are ever planning to go forward as a team.

Out: Bojinov, Marqués, Morrone, Oliveira, Pisano, Valiani
In: Aguirregaray, Borini, D'Agostino?, Obi, etc.

Well that makes something like... mmm... I think Bojinov's value has dropped a bit since we bought him. It could be ~4m euros, Marqués ~2m, Morrone ~2m?, Oliveira lets say ~800k, Pisano ~800k? and Valiani maybe ~2m. Of course those numbers probably went horribly wrong, but those are just directionals.

Also this summer we really need to think about how we use that only non-EU spot! It still pisses me off that we didn't take Armero when we had change. Aguirregaray doesn't have EU-pass if I'm not completely mistaken.

Finally, if Hernán continues playing, make him captain and Blerim vice-captain. Has shown great commitment to the team again lately.

More later.

Is the Pellè deal 100% done now? I thought it was, but I'm seeing reports of us being close to sealing the deal, which implies it's not all signed. I'm not the most enthusiastic about him coming, tbh.

Also, there are louder noises about Borini coming to Parma re-surfacing.

It is done. Just did two goals against De Graafschap. Can't find any video of it though. Good to see that he's doing well.

Just read an interview of Preiti. It was mostly about transfers of next summer. I'll try to pick most interesting parts of it.

About Pereyra he said that they are working hard to find an agreement and closing the deal. Also mentioned Aguirregaray on that answer by just saying that Parma is interested in him, but nothing's defined yet.

Apparently we are not singing Bonaventura. We haven't even shown any interest in him. Well, that 7,5m did sound a bit weird after all.

Then he said that Džemaili, Valiani, Galloppa and Palladino are staying and that Calvo is returning to Aris at the end of the season. Sounds good to me. I would try to sell Valiani, but maybe I can live with it that he's on the team.

Also talked about our youth program and developing players like De Vitis and Pereira to first team. We have consistently four or five youth players training with first team. Mentioned De Vitis, Ristovski, Čović and Defrel.

That interview really gave me a new found of believin', that we have a possibly really bright future ahead of us.

Two things:

Let get this season out of the way first, then we focus on next year.

Second: Valiani. I think he is a great player. His ability to play on both flanks, at both full backs or in the centre is very handy. Also, there is a very strong chance he will be around next year considering he was managed under Colomba at Bologna last year.

Grazie

So true. But what I don't get is, how come he could reach the level of serie a despite being shit at practically everything? It's amazing. I should've ran more when I was playing so they'd see me bust my ass off and I'd probably con everybody into thinkin I have a future as a footballer.

He's good defensively. That's the point of him. He works hard, is strong in the tackle, is very good off the ball (positions himself well defensively and moves well off the ball when we have it) and doesn't give up. He's an intelligent player. And that's partly because he's somewhat limited technically. He's never been blessed with the finest technical skills, so has had to adapt his game accordingly. I think you need a couple of players like him when you're giving others freedom or playing with others who like to have freedom, so good luck to him.

The thing is does Almiron have more quality than what we already have? Is he any better than Morrone, Dze or Galloppa because if not I don't see the point when we already don't have enough space for Ze Eduardo and Nwankwo.

IMO, our central midfield is OK unless someone is going to significantly improve the position then I don't see the point of signing an OK 30 year old.

Morrone? Almost everyone here say he's bad player, if you read read Game threads beginning of the season. Morrone is fighter but nothing else, with ball he have nothing to give Parma, I don't see him a starter. We also have Valiani who is useless.

In my eyes Dzemaili is overrated in this forum. Games what I saw this season he didn't play well. He should be primus motor in the midfield but we see it only few games in a whole season. If player plays more bad than good games it's hard to make winning team. That's only my opinion.

Fighters are nice to have in a squad. I always loved Bolano & likewise with Morrone. Just the type of player I like.

lots of interesting rumours today, the jist being that Candreva and Bojinov will leave and that we will be bringing in major defensive and offensive reinforcements.

Some of the names mentioned are Sebastian Ribas, Stefan Bell etc

http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/parma/?action=read&idnet=c3BvcnRzYm9vazI0Lm5ldC0yNjcyOQ#

I had initially hoped that Bojinov would be our new Crespo but it seems that his personal problems and complete absence of footballing ability have scuppered that. Maybe we could send him out on loan somewhere?

As far as Candreva goes, his attitude disgusts me and therefore he has no place in Parma.

Preziosi says he is close to signing Ribas so we can count him out and apparently Inter are close to signing Aguirregaray. Not all that suprised even if there's the possibility Aguirregaray could end up here for a few seasons on co-ownership.

There was also a piece on Real Madrid being interested in Amauri..

One player I would like to sign is Pasqual of Fiorentina. Rumour that he could leave this season and in a 4-4-2 he would be slightly more offensive minded than Modesto but can also play at LB.

Between the three of Gobbi, Modesto and Pasqual we would have that side well stocked. Pasqual would be the most useful offensively as he is a very good crosser of the ball which would be ideal if we had someone like Amauri or Borini making forward runs.

I'm sure we could pick up his co-ownership for a couple of million.

For LB, (from TMW, so take it for what it's worth) ... we are interested in 29 yr old, Maxwell, from Barca. Obviously would be a nice option for us.

I would prefer Pasqual though. Seems the type of player to fit our project.

We're also tracking in 21 year old German, Marco Hoger from Alemannia Aachen.
